Hi, we had exhaust replaced (including converter) on my wife's 2007 Vibe. After the new converter installed, the Vibe developed some vibration. There was check engine light and my wife brought the car back to the garage. The garage then told us the motor mounts needed to be replaced, as the vibration was quite noticeable and even damaged the new exhaust. All mounts were replaced.
After the mount replacement, an oil leak happened, that required a new valve gasket.
Now after 2300 $ bill the car vibrates terribly and rambles loudly in reverse, and in Drive, when idle, at a stop and in slower speeds. There is also some weird noise when driving and the car does not stay driving, gas pedal has to be constantly pushed. The garage basically gave us the car saying they cannot do anything else to improve the vibration. It however keeps on, even the trunk rattles now and the doors and windows as well. Any idea if we can save the car?

Well the 1zzfe is known for this issue. But there are some things to check. Like if the car shocks you alot when you get out some claim it was a bad ground causing the ecm to act up, corrosion on wires, intake gaskets are known to leak with no code. Bad vacuum lines will cause rough idle in gear more then park or netural. Sometimes just being in a wreck causes it which is my issue now i fixed the vibration before and the car got hit by a sign runner and its shaking again. If a new converter was added i would replace the o2 sensors and disconnect the battery for 20mins and try that. Uprgrading the battery cables wont hurt to a little larger since some have had issues with voltage spike causing the car to vibrate at idle. But with the additional fact you have to apply the pedal to keep it running im am more thinking fuel or vacuum leak, could be bad gas, clogged injectors which according to an old toyota tech i know was a common issue, fuel pump, mass air flow or throttle position sensor. Now having an engine light should help you if you get it read somewhere that will tell you what it is like some autoparts stores

@@EfurdGarage I have to add, that after we went back to the same garage, they cleared the check engine light. I asked them what the code was, they gave a very vague reply..Also Vibe now has bad fuel like smell exhaust at start, and white vapor for about 5 min

@@newbee4568would be worth checking the egr valve, does it have a blueish tint or dark?
