How I Produced "Damnation" by The Wind Covenant

- My band The Wind Covenant just released their debut single, Damnation, featuring Lee McKinney of Born Of Osiris. A lot of people got in touch saying that they loved the mix and production, so in this video I'll go through the session and explain what we did in each part, talk about production and arrangement choices, and talk about the engineering part of each instrument. I'll show you the synths and effects, and vocal layers.
I chose not to make this video a mixing walkthrough/tutorial because I think showing this side of the process could be way more interesting. I would love to see more writing/production walkthroughs from artists and bands, and I hope more people will start doing these in the future.

Watching this again. How did you setup the guitar tracks with the di? I can't figure it out.
Create a stereo input on your daw and set the left channel to record from your DI, the right channel to record from your Kemper signal. Create a stereo track, set the input to the stereo input you just created and that's it! DI will be recorded on the left channel and Kemper tone on the right. Then you just need a plugin that mutes the left channel, for example Waves s1 does that or you can use other imager plugins. This way you won't hear the DI but it's still going to be there to help you visually with editing and in case you want to reamp later on.

Potrebbe essere una domanda stupida, ma da utilizzatore part-time di Cubase non ho trovato soluzioni :'D Avendo le chitarre stereo in quel modo, come fai a "nascondere" la traccia DI per utilizzarle in fase di mix?
ciao Mirko, scusa il ritardo nella risposta! In Cubase c'è un plugin stock che si chiama "Mix6to2", con quello riesci a selezionare quale dei due canali della traccia viene inviato a quale dei due canali stereo output. Se ad esempio metti i 2 fader "L" alzati e entrambi i fader "R" abbassati, il lato Left si sentirà su entrambi i monitor e il lato R sarà in muto e viceversa
Boia che libreria è quella del mesa sulle chitarre?!
