They use their cheap PCB circuit. There’s nothing wrong with PCB boards but fender really cheaps out with their circuits. The amp is already 3K, they should’ve just made it hand wired. These are bound to crap out

The amp sounds fantastic, but it's the little usability tweaks that make me smile - the lightning bolt switch indicator, the cord coming out the side, the detents on the first three switches. That's a man who know what it is to actually have to live with an amp.

I’m so amazed that Fender finally put harmonic trem in an amp for first time since like ‘63. I hope they make another amp with it, maybe one that isn’t a 70 watt monster. But goddamn does this amp sound amazing, and has pretty much everything I’d want in a Fender amp.
Didn't the Chris Stapleton brownface Princeton have harmonic tremolo tho? I know the vintage model of that amp had it, which was where it originally came from, that short run of brownface Fender amps... I might be wrong tho.

Pretty cool! I don't think I've seen Fender do anything this wacky with an amp since maybe the Cyber Twin. Glad to see some innovation. A '64 Vibroverb amp circuit with a '61 Vibrosonic harmonic tremolo (first one from Fender since the 60's), interesting speakers, a Fender spring reverb with EQ controls (first ever?), a nice boost, and some fun stereo routing.

The space of guitar amps is generally very conservative and we don't see much weird stuff from the big players, like you do with guitars. Most of what gets made is essentially remakes of amps that are over fifty years old, where their explicit goal is to be as similar to the originals as possible.

Tbh I was getting bored of brands releasing the latest reissue of an old amp/guitar that promises to be even truer to the original than the previous reissue that was marketed as the closest to vintage spec as possible.

What junk gear? Most inexpensive guitars are CNC machine made and are better quality than older expensive gear. I think we are in a new golden age of guitars. Not sure about amps, but guitars are much better than in the 80s and 90s.
@@drgonzorevival I’ve actually heard a few Dumbles in person three different ones at Carter Vintage in Nashville, and I’ve seen Kenny Wayne Shepherd live. Two of the ones at Carter Vintage sounded good but not great in my opinion, but the third one an Overdrive Deluxe (one of only three Dumble made) previously owned by Keith Urban didn’t sound good at all. Kenny Wayne Shepherd, on the hand, sounded absolutely incredible. It was probably the best guitar tone I’ve ever heard in person, but his amps were custom built for him (as Dumble did with all his clients) so maybe when they are played by someone who isn’t the original owner they just don’t sound right. I don’t know. This amp sounds amazing and even though it’s expensive it’s less expensive than the good Dumble clones and a completely different amp from a Dumble anyway.

I love how much leeway they gave Jack in designing this amp. It's more than just a tweed or super reverb with a Jack White signature decal slapped onto it. This is pretty radical.

Kenny Wayne Shepherd, on the hand, sounded absolutely incredible. It was probably the best guitar tone I’ve ever heard in person, but his amps were custom built for him (as Dumble did with all his clients) so maybe when they are played by someone who isn’t the original owner they just don’t sound right. I don’t know.
This amp sounds amazing and even though it’s expensive it’s less expensive than the good Dumble clones and a completely different amp from a Dumble anyway.
@@charlesbolton8471I never said there is no person on the planet that ever has heard a dumble in person. But assuming everyone did is just plain stupid. Comparing a new amp that costs 3k with a dumble is even more stupid. There’s always something more expensive out there. To my ears, this amp sounds better than the mythical dumble. And it can be bought without selling a house. End of story.
I loved everything, from the video details to the 3 input to the 2 diferent sized speakers. Fender, you did it. Jack you´re a beast.

I love how much leeway they gave Jack in designing this amp. It's more than just a tweed or super reverb with a Jack White signature decal slapped onto it. This is pretty radical.

Worth pointing out that this is basically two amps in one box, two 6L6s feeding the 15" and two 6V6s feeding the 10".
