    Thank you for this tutorial. I’m an ambitious beginner and it really helped me understand how to do the collar and the lining. Only problem I had, is that I have the 2nd version and it has some changes which I am now stuck on. I would be really grateful if you could do a sew along in that version as the bottom hem of the coat is different and the sleeves are lined.
    Thank you. I have followed another tutorial but their explanation was not as clear as yours

    I just got the pattern 😍 Now I only have to invest in some gorgeous wool, and then I am ready to go. just wondering, what size you did, and how you liked the ease on that pattern? I am not sire about what size to make yet 🙈

    • @Jessalli
      @Jessalli  4 года назад

      Yey! I made the smallest size. It is an oversized style, if shows you finished measurements in the pattern. x

  • @janicecoulson5388
    @janicecoulson5388 5 лет назад +1

    If seam allowance at side was 1.5 but you did sleeve at 1 , does this make much difference to under arm ease please. Thanks for this , gives me a lot more confidence to go it alone!

    Hi. When joining the lining and the coat, did you use an over locker?
    I’m a newbie with only a basic sewing machine. I did zigzag stitch all round the edge of cotton fabric to prevent fraying, and don’t want to mess-up so close to the end 😬

    • @Jessalli
      @Jessalli  3 года назад +1

      I did, but a zig zag works exactly the same. And all the raw edges will be hidden on the inside anyway. X

  • @niamhbyrne2
    @niamhbyrne2 4 года назад +1

    Hi can I ask when you were attaching the lining to the coat did you use your modified 1.5cm seem allowance?

    • @Jessalli
      @Jessalli  4 года назад

      No I think I just did the usual 10mm seam allowance. x

  • @cindycarrara1542
    @cindycarrara1542 2 года назад

    How would the seams be finished if I didn’t make a lining? Thank you for a wonderful tutorial

    • @Jessalli
      @Jessalli  2 года назад +1

      You could use bias binding? x

    Hello, On my Sapporo Coat instructions, Item #12 on the lining, there is a pleat. On the front panels of the lining it says, "Fold lining pleat in place, brining the top noth down to the botom, folding the excess upward. Edge stitch in place. Repeat on other side"
    Did you skip this bit? Is there a reason? And I am not sure what the purpose of the pleat would be anyhow - can you help me understand that.

    • @Jessalli
      @Jessalli  4 года назад

      They have updated and changed the pattern slightly since I filmed this 3 years ago. It might be a new addition. x

  • @noelinemcnamee

    Hello ,can I ask if you sewed this on your sewing machine or overlocker or a mix of both ? Thanks

    • @Jessalli
      @Jessalli  3 года назад +2

      Mix of both, but you never NEED an overlocker for anything. x

  • @elainemoulson2578
    @elainemoulson2578 2 года назад

    Not to keen on the sleeves.
