Hoping to replace my athlon talos on my R-25/LR-308 with one of these, just gotta save up the beans. One day id love to be a sponsored affiliate with primary arms an feature yalls optics on my channel. Ive still got a really long ways to go on viewership and subscribers but the second i get my hands on some PA optics its gettin set, tested and reviewed 😊 keep goin PA,yall got some great stuff here,no wonder i find myself surfing yalls website on the daily!
Easy way to range with Mils: 3-1/3 times object size in feet, divided by # Mils = range in Hundreds of yards. Example of person (let's assume 6' tall) spanning 4 Mils: 3 x 6' = 18, plus 1/3 x 6 = 20. 20/4 = 5 hundred yard. Easy-peasy.
Beer Meat Fire you need the 5.56 version for that with a 200 yard zero. You ll line up with the 308 version using 7.62x51 175gr instead of .308 look for M-118-LR
I think this is my type of question, too. I understand (and love) the range estimation hashes on the reticle. However, the dot (regardless of mil or moa) which has the hash which determines the distance isn't automatically the dot for your round's ballistics, correct? Meaning, once you find the range with the ACSS hash you still need to either dial your DOPE or hold the right dot, correct?
@Primary Arms, LLC What confuses me is if an ACSS is rated for .308 or 5.56 can you use it with a 6mm ARC? Im mostly looking for pretty much for BDC. If you can adjust your range with the turrets why can't you reset zero for the caliber your using?
What ammo and what barrel length is this Reticle setup for? Isn't that limiting you? Where as if you used the MIL or MOA Christmas tree. Reticle you can utilize any ammo and barrel length?
aabehzadi the HUD is set to the DMR roll its set for 308 175gr M118-LR and can be duplicated with GMM or reloading to spec. Even if your load data is off a bit it can be calibrated to center mass out to 800 yards. It still has a mil/mil firing solution capability so you can index in like normal. If you are looking for a mil grid check out Athena BPR for moa check out Hera BPR
I want to buy this scope but I don't know which of the three to get. Optics Planet gives 3 options: 308 version for $250 556 version for $250 Unspecified caliber version for $280 What is different about the one that costs $30 more? I would like to know in case there are additional features I might like.
@Primary Arms, LLC I have a couple of things to say and a couple questions. Just 2 weeks ago I had two friends install a PA scope with this reticle on their new Savage 308's here in Northern Nevada. They have the 308/223 version while running 175 grain SMKs factory ammo. One of the shooters had NEVER shot a bolt gun before and has limited shooting experience. Within 20 min after our initial zero (100 yards... Sa they forgot their manuals) he was shooting steel at 600 yards with varying distances of steel in between. He left the desert with a huge smile on his face. I myself however am a mill range estimating guy. I have custom built rifles that have matching optics (I actually represent the rifle builder and we build for the local SWAT Teams here in Reno) My question is that I shoot hand loads and also change elevations from 3500 feet to 6500 feet frequently depending on where I am spending the weekend a couple times a month. I dont want to ask a ignorant question but how would I make the optic work for me knowing BDC reticles have limitations based on altitudes etc? I am a believer in the DMR design and it's intended purposes but I have not bought a PA optic for my two custom built rifles because of this very delima and because I am unsure of their durability. As far as the budget builds and the new shooter. I did not get a chance to use the rifle myself and check where the impacts were because of time constraints and multiple people shooting the same steel. PS. I spent all day doing the math and chicking my drop charts hoping that I had the hundredths of a mil close enough to range unknown distanced targets. Fun but time consuming.
ReLoad all u do is dial in for that for me I use a 50 yard zero at sea level 100 at high elevation, others are set with 100 yard zero at sea level -.5 mils higher up
Hi Dmitry! I bought one of the new GLX 6 by 24 HUD DMR reticles. I put it on a 16 inch 308. My handloads are pushing 175 Sierra match King at 2446fps. I know the reticle will not match up perfectly but do you have any ideas on what would get me the closest to matching my load to the reticle?
Dimitri, I'm looking for a scope to put on my 6.5 Grendel with 20" barrel? Will the ballistics line up? Also, all the wind hold etchings systematically line up starting from the 1000 yd line down to the 500 yd line, but then the 400 yd 5 mph wind hold is farther out than the 500. How come?
The ACSS reticle is fantastic without a doubt. However, now you have things like the Astral range finder binoculars and other phone apps that save you from doing the math also right?
ScottyM1959 The ACSS can center mass out to 600m under 10 seconds in unknown distance! I rather be holding a rifle then binos or range finders and no all those things suck against open field targets
Red Sky even then in our testing the ACSS can go UKD and engage 3 targets 700 yards+ under 30 seconds. By the time someone got a laser to find signal at those distances on center mass size targets then index in and re acquire the target will take close to minute and would require the laser to be on a tripod with pre determination where the laser actually goes in relation to the LRF. By the time all that is done the HUD has eliminated 6 targets with no energy signature on the battle field. You can use the ACSS with lasers as well and will still way faster then mil mil or just as fast n accurate indexing.
ScottyM1959 I am sorry I wasn’t trying to say in an offensive way, just saying yes you could do it that way but it would take forever. I would rather have the speed and reliability of the ACSS and use other tools if I have the time, I hope this makes sense
Me too... While the 6.5 Grendel is a it's close ballistic match for 308, do you have any feed back from those not using 308 with this recital? My main question is around windage, as the Grendel out performs the 308.
I know I've mentioned this in other videos, but I love watching your reticle videos!
There AIN'T NOTH'n like the ACSS system....I Love mine👍🏼
thank you! I'll never use anything else from now on.

You guy's should do some videos on you're R-Grid 2B and the Athena BPR MIL they are your best reticles imo
Adam I have look through the vids
got to love the one thumb down🤷🏻♂️😀
Great explanation.

ACSS is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Would love to see this reticle on a 1-8x with the enlarged horseshoe like the PLX series!
Is this for a 175 grain 308 traveling at 2500 feet per second from a twenty inch barrel?

@@PrimaryArmsOptics what of your scopes will suit 6.5 grendel the best?
Will there be a HUD reticle in a 1-8 or maybe even 1-10? One for 5.56 and one for 308 would be amazing!
Hi Can you factory calibrate lens for customers?
Thanks
Andrew Nz
Any Plans for 6 ARC ACSS

No answer to your question either huh..

yes as long as your batteries are charged.

It is ugly as F, but from what you are telling, it should work. All mechanics take time to get used to, and with training, this may HUD may work.
Hi, which LPVO has this exact style of reticle? I cannot find it in your website.
When is the silver ffp 1-8 coming?????
What's the numbers on the windage and leads?
How would this work for a 7.5 Swiss GP-11 surplus?

Dimka TE Ruski?
Silent Russian I am an American my family comes from Greece but all my Russian friends swear I am Russian 😆

Well shit I alway though you were Russian lol
The name and the slight accent made my think that 🤣 anyways keep up the great work.
