When I was very young, my cousin, Katie, was taken hostage in her home by her ex-boyfriend. He stalked her for days before barricading himself and her in her bedroom. The hostage negotiators talked with him for hours. Unfortunately, he ended up killing her and then himself. She was 17, about to graduate high school. Investigation Discovery did an episode on it back in 2017. I have a lot of respect for the people who put themselves in these life or death scenarios and take on these burdens to try and save people like my cousin - even if the challenge doesn't always end the way we want it to.

Seeing you feeling uncomfortable, uneasy, nervous, anxious, angry, confused, confident, excited, and so much more is amazing. It has helped me realize that there is no shame in being new, 'all-in' and embarrassing. Being unapologetically 'all-in' is beautiful, appriciated and motivating. I have grown -since realizing this and working on myself- as a professional and as a person. Thank you for being loud and expressive. Thank you for being curious. And thank you for being you.

I absolutely love that you try everything, and put yourself through the challenge of unique jobs that take specific types of people to do, and jobs people wouldn't even think about. You're awesome. That actor at the bank on the phone is phenomenal. I believed him.

In business and sales the same concept as used to apply and making money. Or that was something that I was taught and trained over the years and I found out that it’s really great to connect with people and make new friends.
There’s a scene that people don’t care how much you know until you show how much you care . Something like that, but this was a great episode.

Just randomly stumbled upon this channel like a week or two ago and I'm addicted lol I've seen probably almost all of the challenge accepted and MK Ultra videos, such an inspiration, I mean you really show ppl that you can be or do whatever you want if you put your mind to it. Cant wait to see what u do next! Will Michelle be an underwater welder? Maybe an underwater gold miner? Or maybe she'll see what it's like to be part of a crew on a submarine? Or maybe she'll train with the Shaolin monks, or perhaps a Samurai or maybe even Sumo? 😂 You never know!

I am friends with a cop that used to be a hostage interrogater. He witnessed a few horrible events and it led to a lifetime of trauma for him. He had to retire from that and go to counseling for years to recover. One guy he spent hours on the phone with and he was finally starting to deescalate. Then he asked if the guy had pets and the guy started talking about his dog and then went on about how the dog died and then he set himself on fire and died. My friend said he blames himself everyday for his death and constantly told him that if he just didn't mention the dog the guy would've been fine.

This kind of video is so much easier than her chess videos, the marathon video, or the underwater breath holding video.
This kind of video might perform better but I preferred the other kind--that actually forced her to do something really difficult instead of being almost solely educational.
I'm sure those videos take a toll, but I hope she still does them now and then with videos like this in between.
Edit: just saw the premise for her next video and it looks awesome ☺️

Y'know I feel like this video reminded me that although there are bad people in the world, they're still..people, human, they usually have readons, feelings and aren't just mindless maniacs who deserve a life sentence. Eveb though the robbery was a simulation I couldn't help but tear up because the man has a LIFE, like the rest of us. Being a hostage negotiator, dispatcher, anything related to crime or painful work in general is so respectful and I cant imagine the trauma they get every single day all around the world- I know I would not be able to skeeo properly for years after witnessing someone takw their own life abd their spouse having the most pain gut wretching filled screams and cries ever- holy shit. Love your videos, Michelle! And everyone in them!

Definitely an expert: The lesson started immediately: "I feel like I'm going to learn a few magic words to make anybody do whatever I want. Is that the case?"
Note that he didn't say "no" or even necessarily agree, he said: "We'll see what we can do; We'll give it our best shot."
One of the goals of negotiators is to never show oneself to be a liar.
