Whilst that's certainly the most effective way...IT'S BORING! I explore how you can add a little spice to your backroom staff by focussing on the storytelling aspect, and how this can help make each save unique.

FM ONE SHOTS
This is part of the One Shots series - A set of single-season challenges, where we try to upstage real life managers by outperforming them in the 22/23 season. We've outperformed Unai Emery, and made Dejan Stanković look a fool. Next up, we set to correct the course for an Ajax team who looked lost under Alfred Schreuder.
In a change of approach, I'll be looking at specific scenarios through the season and exploring how I handle them, both good and bad. At the end, there'll be a full on documentary to cover my storytelling cravings.

Hi @MustermannFM. First of all congrats on your skin and on this type of content, very much needed. I have a question for you, since I have been struggling to find it on the skin. How can I disable the "Players in range" and the staff search menus just like you did??

The easiest way is to just give you a link to the file: www.mediafire.com/file/mmxm5mji5q62jrk/sidebar_sections.xml/file
This needs to go in the MPGD/sections folder and replace the existing file. Then just reload the skin with caching turned off.

IMHO this was an upgrade to the assesment video! Really liket it this time and looking forward to the tactical one! Not that the squad assesment was bad but it is different with your skin from all of us that still use the default FM skin! Thanks for the video mate!

@@danielbateson6284 oh, that's interesting. I know he's kind of had a weird occasional background role with the club he started his career with, Reipas - but it doesn't seem particularly formal.

I'm guessing it's one of those ambassador type roles. Turns up for occasional events as a representative of the club to get fans to attend. The club only reformed in 2012 according to Wiki...so there's a chance he could probably start for them if really needed.

I'd love to be able to post more frequently, but sadly I also have a job. Only been doing this a few months, though, so hopefully as I experiment and learn new things, I'll eventually get to a point where making videos is a quicker process. I truly understand why other FM creators just show them playing the game normally 😂
I’m still learning the game and in the process of my first multiple year save, so something like this I’m not ready for, but it’s a great idea and excellent execution.
I would love to see some videos of how you set these types of things up or other ways that you limit yourself to make the game more realistic or challenging.

Absolutely appreciate the importance of getting familiar and comfortable with the game before branching out into the more chaotic elements. That said, whilst this might not be the route you want to go down, I would definitely recommend looking at the game from the perspective of the stories being built. As FM is essentially a glorified spreadsheet, it's the stories you create that help to form those memories.
As for the ways of limiting myself, I touch on them in the Aston Villa series, but here's a basic breakdown:
GENERAL RULES
- Attributes obscured using my "graphical attribute" skin which removes numbers and groups attributes as either Excellent, Good, Average or Poor
- Some pages, such as the attribute progress development graph, will be disabled
STAFF RECRUITMENT
- Job Centre adverts/applications
- Staff recommendations
- "The Little Black Book" (Ajax Alumni)
STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Chief Scouts will set up assignments/handle meetings
- DoF will negotiate bids/contracts (I instigate by adding players as transfer targets, everything else is DoF)
- HoYD will negotiate youth contracts (both signings and renewals)
TRANSFERS (no player search screen)
- Scouted players
- Staff recommendations
- Agent offers
- News articles
- Trial days
