Very good review and quite helpful. It does seem with MB's 2030 goal of being all electric that 2024 may be the last model year for a 100% gasoline engine.
Thanks very much 🙇🏻 Some OEMs are walking back their EV targets so we’ll see! The electric G-Wagen that Mercedes showed at Beijing seems to offer a clue; it’s called the G 580 With EQ Technology so maybe there won’t be an EQE in future but the pure electric E-Class could go by E 300 With EQ Technology or some such moniker 😵💫
@@oscaralejandrotorresaguila5886 That's right! Just a theory of ours.... Mercedes seems to have walked back its 2030 all-EV goal a bit, though. Just in time for our vid 😂
Great car sir. A phenomenal difference from my W124 and W211 Mercedes-Benz cars😂. BTW they are still on the road and doing great. Definitely I cannot afford this beauty.
@@MrChiaSG Omg. And I thought cars were expensive in South Africa. The new E200 starts at the equivalent of USD 67,000 here or 87,000 Singapore dollar. That's crazy. But I'm assuming salaries are in line with the cost of living there. At least I hope. It definitely isn't in most parts of the world anymore. Everything has become too expensive.
Yeah, you’ll never see that in the USA. A 4 cylinder with 200hp for this big car?! Laughable. The smallest the USA market have had for years is the E350 V6. I’ve recently seen E300’s. But I would never own one. I have an E350 and an E550. Even the 350 seems a bit anemic after driving the 550. But with 300hp in the E350, it’s acceptable. The 550 has over 400hp and that’s about right for this car. I couldn’t imagine driving a 200? I would sell it and buy a 5 year old V8 car. Perhaps an AMG.
You have much stricter speed limits in the USA, and Germans often buy very basic engines, because it is still plenty enough for the 150 on the highway. No one expects racing on the road from an executive sedan or station wagon, but rather a leisurely ride. It's mainly about comfort. The V6 is not a bad choice, but it already has an unnecessary 4x4, the worse turning radius, weight and consumption. In Europe we already have a liter of fuel for almost 2 dollars... 😪 The best-selling engine in Europe is the 2.0 diesel 220d anyway. Fuel consumption is ridiculous, you can still drive for 5l/100km, range 1200km
E200 should regarded as "sufficient". And it is sufficient, what are you going to do, race it?? If you need more, buy some other engine. Stop whining about it.
Actually it is adequate. Although I agree it's annoying that they put these small engines in the E Class. But it's what they've done for decades. While it isn't quick, you have to marvel at the fact that they get such small engines to feel quite nippy in such a large vehicle. Even at highway speeds on the Autobahn, you'll be surprised how it holds its own.
I booked mine 2 years ago... on the waiting list. Cant wait for it to come to Malaysia❤
Wow congratulations! Two years is a long time to wait 🤯
@@MrChiaSG yep... its only arriving to malaysian shores in october 2024. Good buy? And which edition would you recommend?
Nice review. If you get chance to try out the E450d that would be great as not seen a review of that engine in the new E class yet.
Thanks! I would totally love to. I bet it’s a torquey ol’ thing!

When would the E class and the eqe merge? Didn’t hear of it yet
Hes saying it because Mercedes Benz is going all electric.

Great review! Thank you
Thanks for watching and for the kind words! It means a lot 🥲

You definitely have two great cars already, sir 😀
I just converted that price. There's no way cars are so expensive in Singapore. Why??? How do people even afford it? Unless salaries are also higher?
It's a tax thing 😪 We just do it the old fashioned way and borrow like hell. A Camry costs more than US$180,000 here

Why does E class have a S class grill?
You don't like?
@@MrChiaSG S class is top of the line, of course everybody likes it but what's the point in making both of them look similar?

price JUST under 409 thousand dollars 😂
Cheap, right? 😂

Singapore carprices are insane
We think so too 🥲
