As an everyday manual driver from California. Yes, definitely be a proactive manual driver, but if you've ever driven in San Francisco, you'll know it also helps to give the car in front of you a few feet, not a few inches to pull from a hill.
I know that there can be so much turbo lag that you can see the turbo as a short boost and not as a mostly consistant boost, but i mean that they for example push a button in a car in a video game and then they get a quick but short boost out of it and call it turbo. I also often hear them compare other things with a "turbo" like when your pc suddenly runs faster and they say: oh, now the turbo is here. This is what i mean if you didnt get it. I am also german, so its not so easy to describe these things.
After going on a ride along in a nascar I gained a whole new respect for race car drivers. The G forces my body was forced into felt like I was on a roller coaster. Truly insane.

Even my Lexus from 1999 makes me feel alive when I accelerate fast. I wont do it around other cars for safety reasons. It's a V6. Best car I have ever driven in my life
ive never used the E-brake on hills, but then again, all vehicles i own have it as a pedal next to the kick panel. the right way to take off on a hill is let out the clutch while still on the brake to hold it on the hill while to swap from brake to gas, then once your foot is on the gas, you take off like normal.
1. Everything that involves competition between people based on skills and/or equipment is a sport! 2. USA should take EU as an example and have separate driving licences. If you take your test on automatic gearbox you can only drive aromatic gear box cars and this must be marked in your licence. If you take your test on manual, you can drive both. Simple, yet very effective.
1:40 you can't have a car in neutral and then gas to go forward, you need to be in first gear to start moving. Constantly changing between neutral and first gear is waisting fuel and bad for cars clutch. 2:37 you can always use the footbreak (especially if you leave the engine on) I think that only in Britain people are taught to use their handbreak whenever they stop. In Sweden and Poland It's perfectly fine to just use footbreak. 2:50 You can't stop and have your car in first gear without turning the engine off or holding the clutch (holding the clutch for more than a couple of seconds is bad and will make it break faster + the car will still be rolling) Whenever I'm at a stoplight I always change gear to neutral, I hold footbreak and leave cars engine on. I have a Automatic-Start-Stop system in my car but I always turn it off, because turning the engine off and on all the time is bad for fuel economy and will shorten the engines life.
I’ve done a bit of research and apparently its quite rare to pass out if doing lateral g’s, the main reason we pass out from high g’s is because during vertical dives and climbs in fighter jets the blood flows down away from our hearts so it cant actually be pumped anywhere. Greying out is when the blood rushes up to the brain and blacking out is from the blood rushes down.
No, rwd trumps all, it can do everything. Drag racing (it will win all day), rally (ehh), drifting (very well), and autocross (it owns the road racing world)
racing is one of the most, if not the most mentally and physically stressing sports imo, also about your point at 7:44, i drove a 570s at some airfield at an event, and i didn’t even pass 100mph and it was the scariest and most pulse raising thing i have ever done
My dad always said he hated roundabouts, not because they were new or confusing or anything but because when he was in the military roundabouts were used as ambush locations, as such they end up making him anxious every time years after he got out
Ok, regarding roundabouts and other infrastructure innovations... I can agree with you on them EXCEPT in the town I live in. Here in Asheville, I've seen people repeatedly mishandle roundabouts. Then again, this is the same town where people stop on railroad crossings (and honk at you when you don't), block intersections when stopped in traffic, assume EVERYONE has to stop at an intersection that's been _specifically marked as a 2-way stop,_ slowly crawl up on-ramps and don't even try to accelerate until they've already merged into traffic on the interstate, don't use their turn signals until AFTER they've come to a complete stop in traffic, constantly ride in your blind spot, and seem to ALWAYS be talking on their cell phone without a hands-free device while driving. Honestly, these people are less confused and more ABSOLUTELY INCOMPETENT.
On the rollback issue, that is an interesting way to do it. Let me tell you this from an 18-wheelers perspective on how to do this properly, and believe me, when you weigh 80k lbs, and you are on a steep hill, this will work for you if done properly. 1st, anticipate the light change, when you are ready to move, slowly allow the clutch to engauge, when you start to feel it engauge, you are ready to pull forward. 2nd, when the light changes, initially add more clutch, release the brake and allow the vehicle to begin to roll forward. 3rd, slowly roll on the acceleration as needed. This method does take a little bit of experience to master, but when you do begin to get proficient with this method, you will be able to sit on a steep incline without the use of a brake at all.
Well... In Europe we consider the "handbrake start" the noob way to start on a climb (at least, we do in Italy). The pro one is using the right foot to handle throttle and brake: toe on the brake, heel on the throttle, release the clutch slowly and then when you can feel the engine is pulling you simply start to release the brake. It seems way more difficult, but when you're used to you never come back.
Logan Smith at those kinds of speed power steering isn't incredibly important, the only time it's difficult to turn a wheel without power steering is at a stop.
Czech guy here. I was taught the handbrake thing too but since I got it right on the first try my driving instructor told me to just do it with my regular brakes. It's a bit harder but it's more fun, because you basically need to control all three pedals at the same time. :D
Hehe No The training that most football (american) players go through is ridiculous They are supposed to run at least 4 miles a day, every day, no matter the weather, year round, offseason, pre season, and during season
Define in shape, I doubt that the average racer could out run a soccer player, and I doubt that any of them could out muscle a rugby player, racer keep their weight down. They probably just have great endurance in their arms and shoulder and tremendous mental stamina.
Something most people don't realize is that the brake pedal in an F1 car takes a ludicrous amount of force to use properly. If you don't press hard enough, the brakes literally just won't work. This is because they don't use any electronics or hydraulics to add braking force, and the brakes are designed to work with extreme forces and speeds, so there's just no way to make them any easier to press. Many people that have driven an F1 car will tell you--the technician tells you to press it as hard as you possibly can, and that's often still not even 100% braking pressure.
That puts unnecessary wear on your clutch assembly, which includes the clutch, flywheel and pressure plate. If you hold the clutch in you're having the pressure plate disengage the gearbox for a longer time than what it's supposed to. I did this for a month after I learned how to drive, but not anymore.
i agree that theType R may look a bit ridiculous, but the wing does actually create needed downforce since all the weight is in the front due to the fwd
as a european i can assure you, neither do we use a handbreak in driving school (the driving teach actually tells you not to use it), nor in an everyday situation... handbreaks are used when parking your car or rarely when you want to start driving on a steep incline. in every other situation you use the normal break and the clutch
If it's functional it's not rice. Plain and simple, it may be a bit extra depending on how the implementation of the feature is executed by the designers, but still functional. Rice is giving the illusion of performance without any benefit. Like the "dual barrel" hood on the 2019 Hellcat appeared to be full functional when really only one of them in an intake. It's not totally bad because it still has some purpose, but it's just really half assed on Mopar's part.
A sport to me is defined as any activity that is competitive in exercises one's body either physically, mentally, or both. So yeah, racing, esports, even chess are all sports
I don’t have an issue with them innovating with traffic patterns. It’s when they put them in in stupid places like roundabouts on busy roads. Not to mention they just throw it in there and expect everyone to know how to use it and do it correctly.
Wait, US driving tests aren’t usually with manual cars? Huh, the more you know. So, do the same rules apply, as in, if you do your driving test in a manual then you are licensed to drive either manual or automatic cars? But, if you take your test in an automatic car then you can only be qualified to drive automatic cars? Oh, and what’s to stop you holding the biting point (when using the clutch) to avoid rolling back if you don’t want to use the hand brake?
For roundabouts, when you understand what a yield sign means and roll into the circle because there is no traffic, but people still honk or give you dirty looks like you just ran a stop sign.
Biturbo and twin turbo are different by twin turbo is using the exhaust to power it while in biturbo, a smaller turbo is connected to the exhaust and the exhaust of the turbo powers the bigger turbo since bigger turbo don't easily boost since they are big, and that is what makes them different.
The second one is definitely true, however I've been drilled into using this trick on inclines with stop signs, lights and yield signs: stop the car using your clutch. The basic idea is to push down on the clutch, switch it to first gear and as your car slows down slowly raise it til the clutch engages and counteract gravity pushing you down the hill. Did anyone else learn this technique?
The tri exhaust on the Type-R is functional. Only one exhaust works below a certain exhaust pressure and when the pressure rises with RPM it bypasses then center and goes through the two outside tips. This eliminates the need for an electronic valve to make the car quiet.

i believe that the F1 g-force average has shot up with the 2017 regulations
It has, I believe it went up a whole 1.3g's so they're at like 6gs now (don't quote me on this). So they're pushing some serious G's now. They'll be Fighter Pilots at this rate.
With all that downforce right? Too bad they're gonna get rid of most of that with the upcoming wing regulations.
Bladed Angel Yes but it reaches 3/4 gs in some tracks
Luca Salerno It can reach 6 G's. watch Lewis's hot lap of australia

Yeah. I didn't realize how much of a noob I actually was until stumbled onto this channel. It actually helped me become a better racer and tuner on Forza Horizon 3
No problem brother, everyone was a noob at some time. Just listen and observe carefully and you'll be good in no time.

Same lol but this channel and also racing sims like project cars and grand tourismo has helped me learn a little more.
As an everyday manual driver from California. Yes, definitely be a proactive manual driver, but if you've ever driven in San Francisco, you'll know it also helps to give the car in front of you a few feet, not a few inches to pull from a hill.

not knowing the differences between turbo and nos
I blame NFS games for that one.
Non car guys seeing a car getting a short boost and calling it turbo.

*But where's the miata?*
ive never used the E-brake on hills, but then again, all vehicles i own have it as a pedal next to the kick panel. the right way to take off on a hill is let out the clutch while still on the brake to hold it on the hill while to swap from brake to gas, then once your foot is on the gas, you take off like normal.
People really don’t know about Motorsport
2:50 You can't stop and have your car in first gear without turning the engine off or holding the clutch (holding the clutch for more than a couple of seconds is bad and will make it break faster + the car will still be rolling)
Whenever I'm at a stoplight I always change gear to neutral, I hold footbreak and leave cars engine on. I have a Automatic-Start-Stop system in my car but I always turn it off, because turning the engine off and on all the time is bad for fuel economy and will shorten the engines life.
How will having the clutch depressed damage it?
You are an idiot with too much confidence
I’ve done a bit of research and apparently its quite rare to pass out if doing lateral g’s, the main reason we pass out from high g’s is because during vertical dives and climbs in fighter jets the blood flows down away from our hearts so it cant actually be pumped anywhere. Greying out is when the blood rushes up to the brain and blacking out is from the blood rushes down.

Wait...do people in America not have roundabouts? Jesus how far behind are you guys....
i know right

David Lugarov It’s not only America tho in Poland there are roundabouts with traffic lights making traffic worse

I live in Indiana and my city has like 6 roundabouts. One of those roads has like 3 of them.
“Mother nature pressing against me” kinda hot lol
At 6:33 why is that car in the middle of the road?
Being from the Caribbean and moving to the States the number of people who had no idea how roundabouts and manual cars worked was incredible to me.
Also while racing thise race cars have no power steering. Less weight.
Logan Smith at those kinds of speed power steering isn't incredibly important, the only time it's difficult to turn a wheel without power steering is at a stop.
Alex Barn this is also true. Thank you for that insight. I literally didn't know that. Thank you
Idk about this but I think they don't have ABS or TCS either.

Many people that have driven an F1 car will tell you--the technician tells you to press it as hard as you possibly can, and that's often still not even 100% braking pressure.
why not just press clutch and brake at the same time while keeping it in 1st gear, when you're stopped in a slight incline????

I'll drift in that intersection lol...
Wtf racing is definitely a sport
And not just racing but motorsports in general.
A sport to me is defined as any activity that is competitive in exercises one's body either physically, mentally, or both. So yeah, racing, esports, even chess are all sports
Hey i have a question. What does Bosch do?
They produce automotive parts, power tools, security systems, home appliances, engineering, electronics, cloud computing and IoT (Internet of Things).

I use ricer as a derogatory term
Biturbo and twin turbo are different by twin turbo is using the exhaust to power it while in biturbo, a smaller turbo is connected to the exhaust and the exhaust of the turbo powers the bigger turbo since bigger turbo don't easily boost since they are big, and that is what makes them different.
Where is da miata?
The second one is definitely true, however I've been drilled into using this trick on inclines with stop signs, lights and yield signs: stop the car using your clutch.
The basic idea is to push down on the clutch, switch it to first gear and as your car slows down slowly raise it til the clutch engages and counteract gravity pushing you down the hill. Did anyone else learn this technique?
And what does clutch say about this?
wtf hill starts are easy as even when i go 4x4ing i just ride the clutch when im in 1st gear low range wtf?!?!
The tri exhaust on the Type-R is functional. Only one exhaust works below a certain exhaust pressure and when the pressure rises with RPM it bypasses then center and goes through the two outside tips. This eliminates the need for an electronic valve to make the car quiet.
Biturbo is the marketing term from German companies and companies in English speaking countries use twin turbo.
