I also own a Corvette Z06 for anyone about to comment, "Mustang fanboy whose jealous!" (Check out my channel for more Corvette vids 👌) I can confirm the interior is still mostly plastic, even with 3LZ. It's a nice car sure, but not exotic.
And that is pretty much the outline for our 3d printed future, what will motivate us when everything becomes instantly achievable? Finding a unique style?
For anyone who says that the first gen NSX isn't a supercar just for the fact that it only has a V6: The Jaguar XJ220 only has a V6, and that is a hypercar. (And for anyone who says that the XJ220 isn't a hypercar: It was the fastest car in the world until before the McLaren F1).

Bladed Angel well, if you are thinking about mustang, the mustangs most popular engine when it first came out was an I6 engine. The challenger and mustang are not orginal muscle cars, but ponies cars. Stuff like chevelle and torino and chargers are muscle cars. Big cars, big engines. When the mustang came out it was a small medium engine, but in the late 60s early 70s it became medium with big engines. But I could agree that they became closer to muscle when they had trims like the boss 429 and cobra jets. Just my opinion, so to write a paragraph and get off track
I guess the 911 is half a super car, it depends on which one you get, a base 911 is not a super car, while a gt3/gt2/r/turbo s is definitely a super car
Lodewijk Perquin still not,cus they are not exclusive enough, you can not have a car sharing a chassis or engine with a normal sport car or truck and call it a supercar, thus 911 and corvette can never be super no matter how fast and expensive they are
Jesper Ose they aren't 911s tho. And higher spec gt3 or gt2 rs and other higher end trims are definitely supercar. You cannot have a Nurburgring record breaker and deny its supercar standing by saying it shares a chassis.
But technically speaking a 458 with no options is a base 458 ijs also the Corvette is considered a sports car until you hit the zr1 or the z06 which are definitely supercars
@@Chrisp707- Z06 isn't a supercar. Just a nice sport cars. I see plenty of Z06 in central FL. Price was never anything crazy. How many ppl you know own a ZR1 tho? I've never even seen 1 on the streets ever.
@@Phantomgto85 based off performance the z06 is a supercar price doesn't make a supercar it's performance (straight from the factory) is what makes it a supercar
Of course not, but even if we consider Top Speed, Handling, and other performance factors, the Corvette and NSX still slay Supercars in all aspects, so therefore, we have to measure their status based on other factors aside from performance. Like the other 3 I mention
If it was, then the NSX wouldnt be a supercar but the MR2 Turbo would be although im not compleatly against calling the mr2 a high end sports car, its not a super car
Bladed Angel Right, I would love a high end trim Jag or mustang because those are excellent machines. Lower end trims, are, well the lower end of the line up lol
Iconic styling, I never drove one let alone owned one. Power and acceleration numbers for the NSX are considered unacceptably anemic by today's 12-year-olds but they were considered outstanding cars by people who actually owned & drove them, especially by people who could easily afford dozens of exotic cars with drastically more power than the NSX. That's how you know they built a good one.
As a car design student, this is how I define "Supercar": - A car focused on all round high performance, not a one trick pony - A car with a track focused body, often meaning low, wide, and sloping teardrop angles for aerodynamics - A good weight distribution for handling and optimal grip under cornering and acceleration - A focused interior with the essentials, but good quality on important parts - Can't be based on a 4 door configuration (or similar) - Has to be exclusive (relative to typical sporty but less performance focused cars) So to summarize the cars in this video: Honda NSX (old): Yes, very much a supercar. It ticks all the boxes, and competes with comparable supercars of its era. It's low slung, wide body, mid engine, good power, good handling, and is rarer than its sportscar counterparts (like the Supra, RX7, etc). Honda NSX (new): Much same story as the old model, track focused and a more-sporty-than-normal-coupe bodystyle. No need to talk more about this. It's a supercar to its full definition, why do people even argue this. Corvette (all models): Yes, all of them are supercars. All. They are more all round focused on balanced performance than their sports car counterparts like the Mustangs and Camaros, Corvettes have always been about the more race oriented style, which is important for supercar status, more than just a sportscar. One could argue the very first models (c1, c2, c3) were more in the GT category, which is a half-half sub division in itself, with roots in supercar territory mixed with luxury and comfort. But especially from c5 and onwards, all Corvettes are supercars. I also want to point out again, that exclusivity is relative to comparable regular sportscars - and to all American viewers, remember the "supercar" status is an international term and not just yours. I know Corvettes are very common in the US, but everywhere else they are as rare as Ferraris. Where I live there are probably 10x more Porsche 911 turbos than regular base model Corvettes. Exclusivity is relative, which is why I compare it to regular sportscars, and not just rarity in itself. By those means, a Ferrari or Lamborghini is not a supercar if you live in northern Italy.. Jaguar F-type (v8): Definitely a supercar. Low and wide, sloping bodystyle, good handling and high performance engine (even though it might be too much for its tyres sometimes). The V6 is closer to a GT type, because it sacrifices some of the very high end performance and focuses more on the joy of the cruising driving style instead, while still being too sporty and luxurious to be classified a regular sportscar. It is somewhat in the same bracket as a high end Porsche Cayman, or low spec 911. Alfa Romeo 4C: Not a supercar. This is based mainly on what the car competes with, and its relatively small powerplant. It is a very high performance specialized sportscar, but it simply lacks the outright power to be classified as a supercar (in this day and age). Otherwise it ticks all the other boxes, had it had a V6 with 400+ hp, then I'd consider it a supercar. The Porsche 911: A supercar. An exception can be made for the lower engine spec models, which would be more in the GT group, but the higher spec 911s are definitely supercars. They are low, wide, powerful, track oriented, exclusive compared to sportscar counterparts like the Boxter/Cayman segment, and they are very balanced performance wise. There is a reason why they are unofficially named the "everyday supercar" by all acknowledged car news media in the world. There's a reason why the Audi R8 supercar has the 911 as its main competitor. There is absolutely no reason why the middle-high end 911 models are not supercars. I would also add the Nissan GT-R to this list, which very much IS a supercar, but many people write it off because it is either too cheap in their mind, or it isn't "exotic" enough - both of which has nothing to do with what makes a supercar a supercar. Exoticness comes from super exclusivity, and often an expected premium, along with some kind of extremity in design, materials, or devotion to performance parts. That's why most of the Italian brands often end up in this category, because they focus more on niche exclusivity rather than mass market approachability.
That's one heck of an essay of a comment. I appreciate the thoughts :) Sad to see we disagree on the Romeo, but part of me is inclined to believe it's more of a Roadster anyway. Maybe I'm finally making my own opinion on it instead of following the bandwagon professionals :P
I agree with you bout corvettes. Ex. Where i live, in Poland i have never seen a corvette, i saw 1 camaro and around 5 ferraris and 1 mclaren 650s Edit: and a carrera gt/918 spyder flying by
one more point to be a supercar,no sharing major component with other cars, exclusive engine and chassis is a must, you can't just strap on a super powerful truck engine and call it a supercar
I think people also think the nsx isn’t a super car because it has a V6 even though it beat Ferrari back in the day and it’s made by Honda which isn’t a “super car” brand.
Yeah, the brand holds it back a lot. I tried to not take brand into consideration, otherwise I'd get the same issue with Chevrolet and their Corvette. I could less a crap about brand because sometimes we get pleasant surprises. i.e. the Lexus LFA. It came outta nowhere!
The problem with the NSX is that it had cars like the F1 and Jaguar XJ220 as 'supercars' around. I believe the first gen NSX was a sportscar and the current gen a supercar.
Well the McLaren p1 and Porsche 918 have electric motors...and the electric gives it torque which is good for off the line performance and corners. The nsx didn’t meet expectations but it is quick despite a v6
the NSX is far from being a supercar lol, it stays down there at the tuners with the skylines and rx7s, people who say the NSX is a supercaralso consider their G35 to be a supercar, or their mustang a musce car lmfao
Doug DeMuro said the performance of the C7 ZR1 felt like it was approaching hypercar speed, and even compared it to the 918 at one point. I mean, if a production car's performance can even be compared with the likes of the P1, 918, etc.. it's at least a supercar. That's a lot more than you can say for the base model Corvette.
Doug DeMuro is kinda sketchy on his reviews of cars.. He has a lot of obvious bias that bothers me in his reviews (not saying he's bad, but not my preferred source of car info.
@@buucey4719 Well, that's just the nature of journalists. They force their opinion on everything. But, given that he has driven a 918, that does have the credibility to say something like that.
@@rockysquid1094 nothing you said even made sense. So let me get this straight, they beat a lot of supercar in many areas of performance but they're not a supercar?
One that I’m undecided on is the viper. It has the style, exclusivity, performance, and luxury, although the luxury for the driver is a bit lacking lol. The problem I have is that with the exception of the later ACR models with the crazy aero packages, the Viper always felt like a muscle car to me. I wonder what other people think about it
I think the most recent viper acr is a supercar tbh. Is an absolute track weapon competing with all other supercars. Plus it has a v10 (although doesn’t scream like a lamo).. Other versions I think directly competes with the corvette so it’s a sports car.
@@retrac3147 I'd say Viper ACR is more of a homologation special race car with turn signals rather than a supercar. It's still got Crystler interior, while it's better than gen 1 Viper by MILES it's still not very luxurious.
Mclaren F1 was 1 million dollars in the 90's and had a bit over 600 hp . It was probably the first hypercar. It is amazing how nowadays you can get 600 + hp sedans for 100 - 150 k that can put to shame a lot of supercars. Great time to be a petrolhead :)
Agree with your list, especially on the part that "trim level" is NOT a disqualification factor: 1. The Ferrari 288 is just a "trim level" of the 308 (the Magnum PI car)? Nope: Exotic, super-rare, expensive and freakishly fast (for the 70s) 2. Porsche Turbo S: Another "trim" 911, but extremely fast, VERY expensive, exclusive, and ultra luxurious. So, yes. It's a supercar. 3. Alfa Romeo 4C too: carbon fiber BODY (not just the front spoiler). 4 banger, naysayers? The Lotus Esprit was a bona fide 4-banger Supercar. 4. Corvette ZR1s, ALL of them are true supercars: Very fast, expensive, exclusive, using exotic materials a/o handbuilt engines.
Lotus Elise. An exotic, but can't quite make it into supercar territory due to the interior and performance(?). It's a track car but not an all around supercar. It's like one tier below the 4C
a this is actually a good car to mention. especially back then in 2005, I’d say it was considered more of a supercar than it is today. But interiors shouldn’t and doesn’t hold weight to supercars. Most of them are ergonomically challenged.. but does that make it any more or less of a supercar? Lol
However the henessey venom (sorry if I misspelled it) which is based off the lotus is definitely a supercar, if not a hypercar. I think that makes the lotus a half-supercar at least
Used to watch your videos while in high school jus cuz I liked your vids. After high school, life got a bit hectic so I stopped for a while, but now I’m doing better and looking at a del sol to buy and mod and back to watching your vids, glad I did.
Depends what model of Jag, really. The standard Jags are common place, but older models (E.G. Mark 2, XK120, C-Type, E-Type, etc) and high performance models (XKR-S, XFR-S, XJ220, XJR-15, F-Type SVR and F-Type Project 7) are actually fairly rare.
The xj220 is. The damn thing retailed at $780,000 in 1996. It had a twin turbo 4.6L V6, I believe, and made over 550hp, and could go faster than 200 mph.
4.6 by is a beefy mother, always thought of putting a big'ol spooly boy on the inline 6 4.9 liter THE big six,of course special orders you can make a literal big block v6 from a few companies.
On the subject of the 4c, the size and front end really hold it back. Most supercars are known for radical, extreme looks with massive engines, banshee-like exhaust notes, high horsepower and stellar performance. The 4c is cute. Its tiny, has an almost happy looking front end, it still sounds like any other 4 cylinder, and it looks out of place among other entry level supercars like the amg gt, zr1, and the r35 gtr. Even a lot of luxury sports cars that are most definitely NOT supercars fit in better. A maserati granturissmo, m5, cts-v or e63 amg looks more fitting parked in a group of 458's, huracans, and 720's. The driving experience is like the apex of what miatas go for, that is small, light, corners well, and fun to drive. And you can't sell it on driving like a better version of the miata and then expect it to eat lunch with aston martin and AMG. This same argument applies to lotus as well.
Counterpoint - not all super cars are or need to be the Lamborghini Countach. In my eyes the 4C just falls on the opposing spectrum of car design philosophy, on a similar place to like earlier Porsche 911s or current RUF cars, along with higher trim modern Lotuses. I wouldnt consider the original Elise and Exige supercars solely because they were made to be road/track cars first and as such the interior was very spartan. But the 4C has a remarkable interior, truly a work of art and a pleasure to be inside of. And also unlike Elise and Exige, which dont cost an arm and a leg, the 4C does cost an arm and a leg... (it hurts me because I genuinely want one at some point but LORD the price on these). Anyways, the latter part IS very much in-line with the zero-compromises philosophy of supercars, just set in a different direction.
I still drive my nsx 1998, it still runs like a dream. I hope it outlives me. It is the greatest car I have ever seen or driven, buying this has been the best decision of my life.
That's fine. This video is mostly opinion so we're here to discuss and it's unlikely we'll all agree. Otherwise this wouldn't be as big a debate in the car community as it is :)
I think the definition can vary depending on who you're asking. Most Corvette's here in the UK would be pretty damn exclusive, as they're not sold here. But I think badge exclusivity is super important to a lot of people. The NSX is pretty much a supercar, but again in the UK, I think it was mainly held back as it was sold as a Honda. Which is a shame, as when a lot of people see Hondas here they think of their Oddessey MPV, the kids Civic or garden lawnmower, but forget about F1. Then with the trim level issue, for car nerds, you can say the ZO6, F-Type SVR and 911 GT 3 are supercars as we know what we're looking at, but the layman would not see the difference between the trims.
Eh I don't know. Exotic car is not the same thing as a super car. I think performance purely makes a car "super." Exclusivity makes an exotic car. You can make an argument that the Z06 is not a exotic car, but they're definitely super cars. Even the Camaro ZL1 is a super car. Both are not exotic though. Fancy interiors are for GT cars. They're for cruising and being able to go fast, but in style. All a super car is is a sports car with A LOT of performance. A good baseline for "super car" status think of a car that can do 200 mph(or close to it +/- 10 mph), drop sub 5 second 0-60 times, and can dominate corners. That is what makes a super car. There are hyper cars too. Those are doing like 220+ mph, sub 3.5 second 0-60 times and obliterate the corners.
"Porsche GT2 and GT3RS.... See them on tracks with Ferraris and Lambos..... Keeps up just fine...." Dude. The GT2RS is the fastest Nurburgring lapping production car. Keep up fine? Really?
What’s funny about Porsche is that they’re so common relatively, even turbos, GT3 and GT2, to Ferrari, Lambo etc among people with money is that it takes away their super car vibe. But performance wise theyre def super cars.
My C4 Corvette is a supercar! The $100k I'm putting into it to bring it to that level..... does help! Not to mention alot of planning, blueprinting, reconfiguring, & time.. OK maybe not a supercar, but damn close. And this is due to that, even though I went thru a massive reworking of its major weaknesses, or its suspension & chassis, there will always be some things that can't overcome. But I have done things that I have yet seen to be done on a C4, ever. So we'll see. And obviously I have the performance aspect down, so I'm not concerned about not making super car power. Soon real soon. It's been years in the making. And except for the actual machine work, I have built & done everything myself! I also have a family, full time job, & I'm not some millionaire who can just play all day. So time it has taken
Fallen Bunny91 Thank you for being one of the few comments that actually understands how that series works. A history video on one specific trim will not nearly be long enough.
@@freedomrider266 Also the Nissan GT-R NISMO cheated in its well known 7:08.679 Nurburgring time. People should base it on track times relative to its era, including the 'Ring, and its straight line performance.
One car that pisses me off cause its one of my favs is the Dodge Viper so many people say its a Muscle Car or Sports Car one its not a Muscle car it has a V10, also its far to powerful to be a sports car.
alfa romeo 4c isnt that fast even by s modern standpoint, it doesnt really look like a supercar its just a sports car not even a high end sports car. if the 4c was a supercar then the camaro zl1 would also be... no way the 4c is a supercar but the corvette z06 isnt
The main thing is that there's a more solid threshold - if it can beat a car generally described as a "supercar killer", such as the Corvette C7 ZR1 or Nissan GT-R Nismo, it's probably a hypercar. Or an extreme track toy - it really depends on whether the car is only really usable on a track or can be driven comfortably on roads. Ultimately, though, for both supercars and hypercars, the defining factor is "you can't describe it, but you'll know it when you see one".
I think the Nissan GTR (r35) is a supercar because: 1. Performance: 0-60 is 2.9 sec (which competes or beats most supercars) and Top Speed of 195mph (very good top speed) and 565hp. So yes. 2.Rarity: Only about 10,000 were sold as of today, you very rarely see them on the road, and base model is $100,000 so it is very expensive. So Yes. 3. Looks: Very aerodynamic and very aggressive looking. So yes. (this is more subjective) 4. Luxury: It has leather seating, bose speakers, and other luxury feathers. So Yes. So yes, it is a supercar and all of these apply to the Nismo version too but more.
Then by those terms we could consider the challenger and chargers super cars aswell, more specifically the demon and hellcat models. The hellcat does a 2.9 0-60 the demon has a 2.3 0-60. They have 204 mph top speeds. They’re somewhat rare specially the demon . Looks maybe not so aerodynamic but aggressive as hell, and luxury wise they have leather interior. I don’t think the r35 could be considered a super car and I’m not calling the hellcat or demon a super car I’m just comparing it to the GTR
The Challenger doesn't meet the requirements on this list. The hellcat cannot go 0-60 in 2.9 seconds. It struggles to even go under 4 seconds because of it's weight and crap tires. The demon is a one trick pony and neither can go around a corner and that counts for performance as well. Exclusivity easily eliminates the hellcat. There are a lot of those on the road, but the demon is exclusive for sure. Luxury/Quality is weak for the Challenger also. Yes there are leather seats but the interior is filled with cheap plastic and Fiat quality is known to be shit.
Seth Cortez i agree with you but I’m just saying the GTR as cool and as amazing as it may seem doesn’t meet the requirement on some point. Luxury wise the gtr is compared to the Altima for its plastic interior or atleast that’s what I’ve heard, and exclusive wise it’s everywhere. They aren’t that rare
Tanner_E_S550 Not trying to be mean or anything but the R35 was built to be the successor the the R34 skyline and those cars (or rather the engine) were hand built by only a very few master engineers
Even if the NSX was deemed to he a supercar for me it will always stay in that “legendary 90s Japanese cars” category rather than be with the supercars. I am more familiar with the Honda version and that just doesn’t sit right with me. It look amazing and drives amazing, I’ll give it that!
I think of the Alfa Romeo 4C as a Sports car like the Lotus Elise, they both have 4 cylinders but and are extremely light and small, with a bit 200 hp. Three cars I think are honourable mentions are the Lotus Exige, Lotus Evora and TVR Sagaris. I personally think the Exige is the very top of the range sports car. I think all the Evoras since the 400 are low range Super cars, and the TVR is a Super car
I take it your ranking is more like this, then? Sagaris, Evora 400, etc: low range supercars Gallrardo, 458, etc: mid range supercars Aventador, Laferrari, etc: top range supercars/hypercars
I bought a C5 corvette a couple months ago, and people say it’s “slow”, but whenever I drive it I feel like I’m in a time machine, taking me back to the late 90s/early 2000s. It’s the fastest car I’ve ever owned, and it’s a super car to me from that standpoint.
The most stupid thing is when people argue whether or not Corvette or Viper is a muscle car. Why can’t they be BOTH muscle and sports cars? All American sports cars ARE muscle cars. They all compromised on luxury and emphasized on torque and displacement.
Sarmatian Smilodon Because everyone thinks beefy sounding ls = muscle. It's a stupid concept because "hurr durr well it doesn't look like a muscle car" If someone swapped an LS3 into an RX3 they'd believe it's muscle.
K Ktown I know. I mean, people take those categories too seriously. Generally, a big engine performance car with tons of torque is muscle. Remember they categorized Dodge Viper (V10 powered car) and Chrysler 300C (a sedan) as muscle cars back in Need for Speed Carbon. Again, it depends on a liberal or a conservative use of this word that you prefer. I prefer a liberal use.
HUNDREDS of thousands.. definitely approaching 2 million [or even more].. they make something like 30,000 a year, so i can't exactly say that's "exclusive" when Dodge only pushed out ~40,000 Vipers in total over 25 years, Ford only released ~4,500 GT's from 2004-2006, & Saleen barely sold 100 S7's [maybe 150?].. the Corvette, undoubtably, has supercar performance, but in a sports car package.. i can't consider it an actual supercar if/when numbers are a factor :/
Bladed, there is one thing I would like you to consider - the Corvette is not a supercar, because it is too common... in the United States. Some may consider fast Mercedes and BMW models (SL63 for example, not the SLR or SLS) exotic in the United States, but you can find them everywhere in Europe. But Corvettes are not common in Europe due to their high import cost.
The northern towns in Nassau County, driven through there a few times, saw a few Italian exotics. Corvettes, fairly common all over LI. Upstate, almost as much.
I also own a Corvette Z06 for anyone about to comment, "Mustang fanboy whose jealous!" (Check out my channel for more Corvette vids 👌)

That's what I was thinking with the Trim Argument! So that's why I used that same logic for being okay with the ZR1 and SVR passing the check.
Bladed Angel what about viper ?
What about the 2017 ford gt?
Dennis Klein well, of course that's a supercar. There has never been a question
I guess the 911 is half a super car, it depends on which one you get, a base 911 is not a super car, while a gt3/gt2/r/turbo s is definitely a super car
Lodewijk Perquin still not,cus they are not exclusive enough, you can not have a car sharing a chassis or engine with a normal sport car or truck and call it a supercar, thus 911 and corvette can never be super no matter how fast and expensive they are
The 959 and Carrera GT is a supercar.
Jesper Ose they aren't 911s tho. And higher spec gt3 or gt2 rs and other higher end trims are definitely supercar. You cannot have a Nurburgring record breaker and deny its supercar standing by saying it shares a chassis.
evan leo cmon the gt2/3 Rs or even a normal gt3 or a turbo s is definently a supercar
Not 100% about the turbo s but definitely R/GT2/3 are Supercars

The biggest issue with the corvette is the models, you can’t buy a Ferrari 458 base model... when you buy a 458 you buy a 458
But technically speaking a 458 with no options is a base 458 ijs also the Corvette is considered a sports car until you hit the zr1 or the z06 which are definitely supercars
458 means you buy a Ferrari with a 4.5L V8. That’s no ordinary engine, and Ferrari’s no ordinary car company.

I consider a trim passing for super car, mainly because it massively changes the peformance.
Right? Kind of like how V6 Mustangs aren't Muscle Cars, but the V8 is. Sometimes the trim will determine if it makes it into the category or not.
Bladed Angel Right, I would love a high end trim Jag or mustang because those are excellent machines. Lower end trims, are, well the lower end of the line up lol
90’s NSX is a super car. My mind was blown the first time I saw one back then. They were absolutely exotic, rare, fast and expensive.
The BMW is Isetta is a hyper car
You couldn't be more wrong if you tried...
IT'S A MEGA CAR
NOOT NOOT Master ikr
It's a bubble car
Nah it goes for the land speed record
I trim level can absolutely define "sports car" or "supercar." It just better be a damn good trim, with a big difference, like the ZR1, or SVR.
As a car design student, this is how I define "Supercar":
- A car focused on all round high performance, not a one trick pony
- A car with a track focused body, often meaning low, wide, and sloping teardrop angles for aerodynamics
- A good weight distribution for handling and optimal grip under cornering and acceleration
- A focused interior with the essentials, but good quality on important parts
- Can't be based on a 4 door configuration (or similar)
- Has to be exclusive (relative to typical sporty but less performance focused cars)
So to summarize the cars in this video:
Honda NSX (old): Yes, very much a supercar.
I appreciate the thoughts :)
Sad to see we disagree on the Romeo, but part of me is inclined to believe it's more of a Roadster anyway.
Maybe I'm finally making my own opinion on it instead of following the bandwagon professionals :P

But by that logic that some people use the audi r8 v10 is not a super car and neither is the Ford GT and I believe both of those are super cars.

The problem with the NSX is that it had cars like the F1 and Jaguar XJ220 as 'supercars' around. I believe the first gen NSX was a sportscar and the current gen a supercar.

Doug DeMuro said the performance of the C7 ZR1 felt like it was approaching hypercar speed, and even compared it to the 918 at one point. Agree with your list, especially on the part that "trim level" is NOT a disqualification factor:
1. The Ferrari 288 is just a "trim level" of the 308 (the Magnum PI car)? Nope: Exotic, super-rare, expensive and freakishly fast (for the 70s)

That's fine. This video is mostly opinion so we're here to discuss and it's unlikely we'll all agree. Otherwise this wouldn't be as big a debate in the car community as it is :)
I agree. People are entitled to their own opinions, and things like this are open for discussion.
Fair enough, I personally agree with most of the video.

I would put the 4C higher than the likes of the Mazda MX-5
I put them in the same category.sports cars fun to drive etc
If super is too mainstream, go hyper! I'm not sure if there are any hypercar confusions, but if you can find enough for a video that'd be cool.
The new supercar breed is kinda making it hard to know, these cars are beating the hypercars. Nkosi McRae
david abdo Aventador? Mercedes SLR? XJ220? EB110? F40? none of them start at £1m, and they are all hypercars.
Champagne davy I consider the ford gt as a hypercar with a supercar price
The main thing is that there's a more solid threshold - if it can beat a car generally described as a "supercar killer", such as the Corvette C7 ZR1 or Nissan GT-R Nismo, it's probably a hypercar. Or an extreme track toy - it really depends on whether the car is only really usable on a track or can be driven comfortably on roads.
Ultimately, though, for both supercars and hypercars, the defining factor is "you can't describe it, but you'll know it when you see one".
For the C8 Corvette, I think it already became a fully fledge supercar in my opinion.
I think the Nissan GTR (r35) is a supercar because:
So yes. (this is more subjective)
R35 is a piece of junk that only appeals to 12 year old fanboys
Seth Cortez i agree with you but I’m just saying the GTR as cool and as amazing as it may seem doesn’t meet the requirement on some point. Luxury wise the gtr is compared to the Altima for its plastic interior or atleast that’s what I’ve heard, and exclusive wise it’s everywhere. They aren’t that rare
Tanner_E_S550 Not trying to be mean or anything but the R35 was built to be the successor the the R34 skyline and those cars (or rather the engine) were hand built by only a very few master engineers
Hey bladed you haven't showen any miata recently...so i have to ask...But bladed where's the miata
I wonder if my grandpa’s M6 will be on this list
The totally amazing goose Goose I liked for your name
its a luxury sports car. like Bentley continental or RR coupe.
Thanks for letting me know!
Even if the NSX was deemed to he a supercar for me it will always stay in that “legendary 90s Japanese cars” category rather than be with the supercars. I am more familiar with the Honda version and that just doesn’t sit right with me. It look amazing and drives amazing, I’ll give it that!
I don't like the style of the video so much. But I loved what you said and it's hilarious so thumbs up
The miata is a super car
Richard Romero hyper*
Richard Romero no

No, it went EVEN FURTHER BEYOND. The Miata is an ULTRACAR
Bladed Angel I think the new RF hard top looks super cool!!😍
LET’S GO FURTHER THAN THAT.
THE MIATA’S AN INFINI-CAR
Idgaf what haters say the Prius is a proper supercar!

Sagaris, Evora 400, etc: low range supercars
Gallrardo, 458, etc: mid range supercars
Aventador, Laferrari, etc: top range supercars/hypercars
there is only one thing that defines a supercar
BADASS
A lot of cars can be badass, but not supercars. Even with enough work, something as simple as a 240SX can become really badass.
GT500?
I know i was just saying it for fun
Dodge demon, not a supercar
4:03 “ the modern Mustang Camaro”
He mean the modern mustang and camaro....use your brain
Is the 05-07 Ford GT a sport or supercar?
I would argue supercar
Supercar (it's inspired by one of the most successful racing cars of the 1960s)
Definitely supercar.
Supercar.
Jayden 05-07. The ‘07 had a slightly different design for the Canadian market.
I bought a C5 corvette a couple months ago, and people say it’s “slow”, but whenever I drive it I feel like I’m in a time machine, taking me back to the late 90s/early 2000s. It’s the fastest car I’ve ever owned, and it’s a super car to me from that standpoint.
Supercarn't

Sarmatian Cougar I wouldn't really class the likes of the SSC Aero and Saleen S7 as "muscle cars".
The comic book universe has millions of “superhumans” they’re still superhumans.
Kolin Martz that's because theirs Billions of humans lololol
Casey Wilson there’s millions of cars out there but there are only thousands of corvettes.
I live in New York and I only seen one Corvette and I have seen 0 Lamborghini and 2 Ferrari’s
I think corvettes are rare well in NY
The northern towns in Nassau County, driven through there a few times, saw a few Italian exotics.
Corvettes, fairly common all over LI.
Upstate, almost as much.
You should remake this and consider the Nissan GTR, Porsche GT3, and the Maserati GranTurismo
Porsche gt3 is supercar the Maserati isn't and the gtr is one of the most conflicted topics.
The only true supercar is the famous SmartCar
The only true supercar is the BMW isetta

Can’t believe this comment thread has gone without the Prius🤦🏻♂️

Spencer Beckett Toyota Prius is the best supercar bam there you go
Wherever I live, everything can be a supercar as long as it can go faster than 75mph. A freaking Miata ND costs 73000$

The corvette ZR1 should be considered a super car because it has the power is luxurious and is more rare than the other corvettes
