4:14 This happened to me my first time, there was a huge meet planned with like 100+ people planning on going but the person that planned the meet didn't choose a location that worked so as I was pulling up everyone got kicked out by the cops. They relocated it but only like 20 people showed up and they were all in groups that were obviously friends. Me and my dad went around and tried to talk to people but we were straight up ignored. People wouldn't talk to me when I said something and we kept getting really nasty looks. We ended up leaving after like 15 minutes because of the looks we were getting but I would not recommend small car meets
I honestly find small car meets to be more about meat riding each other's friends groups and bashing others for local rivalry, so if ur some random whose not even part of the beef or whatever they got going on they hate that
Speaking of stunting at car meets, I once saw a video of a guy legit stunting at what didn’t even look like a car meet, in a Nissan Fairlady Z Twin Turbo 1998 (I don’t exactly recall the exact model) and he got so close to the crowd and ended up hitting someone. And the guy that got hit got up and walked away like nothing happened.
Ye was it the one where some jerk in a red z32 literally stunting or doing donut like things and hitting a person? If so the guy nearly escaped cus his leg ended up in the wing and he could’ve gotten dragged with him stuck in the wing. That car looked and sounded like an NA Z32
I have a little story to share about my first meet. So my hometown has a local meet that happens every Saturday at 10 PM, and I decided to go check it out one evening. But the only vehicle I had was a hand-me-down Honda Odyssey (this was before I bought my IS250). For me, driving a minivan was pretty much social suicide and I felt like the guys there would laugh me off the lot. To my surprise though, they were pretty chill about it and were like, "Hey, we ain't gonna judge." Ended up having a great time. Guess that's Canada for you...
when I go to car meets, I can only go to classic car meets (cause of where I live) and I kid you not everyone there are the chillest of people on earth
@@ninobrown6479 Have you watched his vlogs? Those vids definitely are positive. It comes down to him just hating list videos and being forced to make them because the fanbase just likes them for whatever reason
another tip: my first meet was pretty much a small meeting, but it was for the same type of cars, just a coming together of the same models and everybody is friendly because they know your struggles and things like that. that was half a year ago, ive been to at least 1 or 2 meets a weekend
Totally agree on small vs large meets. First small meet I went to, everyone ignored me. I had to force my way into a conversation and pester some dude with questions about his car to get him to hold a conversation with me. At the large meets, I can get my coffee, walk up and down the rows, chat with people about their cars, much less pressure, and I had a way better time at the large 500+ car meets. Also, morning car meets/shows are less at risk of d-bags wanting to race and do burnouts in their clapped camry's or lifted silverado's. Those LED wheel well lights don't add horsepower bruh
5:30 i totally agree with you. went to cars and coffee in o.c CA as my first meet and it was amazing. so many cars and lots of chill vibes just appreciating the machines around. i dont think i wouldv'e had that experience if i went to one of the smaller night meets

I used to work at this Kmart where sometimes there would be dl car meets and sometimes they got wild and some guys would drag down in front of the entrance of the store that was still open lol. They almost hurt one of my coworkers lol
I've almost only ever gone to small meets, and never had any issues, but that being said they were mainly local MR2 owners meets so everyone had a good amount of respect for everyone, especially young people. Now I can definitely see small open meets with all cars being hard to fit into especially if everyone knows each other.
To me, that's the best thing a car can do. No matter how fast they goes on a track, or in a straight line, no matter how scratched up they are, if they make you smile that's a GOOD CAR! Cherish them, and they will cherish you back.
There's a weekly Cars and Coffee like 15 minutes down the road and anther weekly thing in the local town center that's massive on pretty much every single day its on. They sometimes even gotta borrow extra space from the town center so that they can park cars somewhere they normally can't even drive like in the center plaza
That was exactly my experience. I have never been to a meet before and never seen a supermarket up close so when I went to Caffeine and Octane in Atlanta, it was nuts. I was definitely shy but everyone was so cool I felt like I fit right in.

Cars and coffe is maybe free where you live... Where I live you have to pay + organizers decide which car is good enough to be there. So if you don't have at least M3 or 911, you are probably not getting chosen.
In my state, there is this place called Old Town, and they hold classic car meets weekly (or monthly?). And sometimes, they do exotic car meets. I don’t know if they do ricer car meets, though…
An old man saw my 2020 GT500 at a meet and told me to "sell it and buy a corvette" as if his sudden suggestion will forever change my taste in cars and instantly sell my car😂.
You forgot to mention that sometimes going to a big meet gives you an in at a small meet. You might spark up a conversation at a big meet and realize that you live by the same area and get an invitation to go to a small meet, and boom, you now know someone at the small meet.
The first one is not even limited to cars. It's annoying when people brags the achievement of others just to win your argument and assert dominance in the conversation.
We also have Cars & Coffee too in Thailand. Really great meet ( haven’t had the chance to go in person, but really looking forward to once the pandemic is over. ).
for the third one, in France we are way more kind, there's around half a year, i bought my first car, and i went to a local car meet, same size you said, they were all happy to see a new face. but as far as i know, there is more problems with bigger car meets...
as a (amateur) photographer, i like the small car meets better. it's a really nice vibe imo, and when i know owners a bit, its just fun to talk to them.
As a newbie and not having gone to a car meet yet myself, these are very good points I hope to be able to remember when I do go to one. I don't exactly have a car for show, slowly improving my current every day hatchback with my father, I love the advice given by your videos on things I can improve without trashing my car.
On the topic of impressing people there was a guy I knew that claimed his stock Durango made so much power it blew his intake manifold off… oh and then said he blew off a cylinder (not blew a ring literally got detached from the block) so he was “only running on 7” and that “it’s not leaking oil cuz he changed the broken cylinder” I was dumbfounded 😭😂
I didn't get bullied at my first car meet where there was only around 50 cars but I also had the local RUclipsr park next to me along with 2 other built Genesis's and then on the other side a guy building a 240z.
Also man do I hate how car enthusiasts are a "trend" and how many people are building cars just for social media. And there's a difference between doing it for social media and doing it and posting stuff on social media.
i went to cars and coffee nashville and i got hate from a friend when i told em "i dont really care about the r34s and mk4 supras cause i didnt live during those times" like bro what?
The first entry is kinda wholesome imo They don’t have anything to say for themselves so rather than saying untrue shit they hype up their family and friends, it’s kinda sweet. It’s almost like there’s still a sense of community in this world. If my kid said “my dads 2023 Corvette Z06 with twin turbos will gap u” I’d be like fuck yeah where’s the race (also I have no z06 but it’s my dream car) But I can totally see how it can be annoying
just went to my first meet with my cousins in their cars and it was actually a local cars and coffee meet…didn’t know how widespread they were until seeing this.
Bruh the first one got me man, I had so many people coming to me talking about how "oh man I used to have that car it had xxx mods. Cool man but I'm here just vibing with my car. Its mostly stock yeah but I cant afford everything I want at once. Just slowly modding it over time. Also had someone come up and talk about how they could do my car better than me. THATS annoying
A big thing for me at a car meet that i hate is the person who sits in a chair all day long and yell at people who stare at their car for too long. Like, why did you show up then?
We don't see the hostility and bullying at our small local meets. Here everyone is welcome no matter what they drive. And also if they don't have their own car. The vast majority of car people here are just happy to see new enthusiasts. The only rule we have is to not act like an idiot. The ones who try to do that usually gets told off.
I've been that shy newbie at a small meet. It was never a good experience, and it's good to hear this is a common thing across the country

They don’t have anything to say for themselves so rather than saying untrue shit they hype up their family and friends, it’s kinda sweet. It’s almost like there’s still a sense of community in this world. If my kid said “my dads 2023 Corvette Z06 with twin turbos will gap u” I’d be like fuck yeah where’s the race (also I have no z06 but it’s my dream car)
But I can totally see how it can be annoying
just went to my first meet with my cousins in their cars and it was actually a local cars and coffee meet…didn’t know how widespread they were until seeing this.
6:04 Ah yes the food truck will save me from being bullied
Watching any fast and furious movie is a text book example “how not to “ behave at a car meet.
