Bottas’ communications skills is on another level. It’s not just his command of language nor his fluency. I mean, he knows how to relate the actual sensation to his listeners. Should this man be giving lectures or telling stories or coaching, I’m all ears.
Yes most people just day o it's great or hard or some simple words but describing things so other people can understand takes work
Exactly!

Almost at the same level as Kimi
I agree, I like Lewis but his interviews tend to be more of a performance. Valteri explains in a clear simple manner and a very nice pace
That drift from Bottas though, work of art
Oh my god yes - How awesome was that - I was thinking the same -

Nearly as awesome as Red Bull
This is an answer to a question I never thought I'd get. Thx Merc!

@@MercedesAMGF1 Can u pls explain to me what is differential and what do rotary dials do plssssssssssssss reply plsssss
@@yogeshvartak199 Differential affects the speed of the rotation of rear wheels. If you unlock the differential you'll allow the rear wheels to rotate at different speeds and if you lock it you force the rears to rotate at the same speed, each is beneficial for different corners on a circuit to maximise speed on exit . I can't explain exactly what the rotary dials do though

I agree. He is one very unlucky driver!
@@remkojerphanion4686 At Monaco every driver us unlucky lol
Well he got a personal video of him and his experience on the race out of it, so not a lose lose after all
I don't even watch F1 races, I'm just fascinated by the sport, ever since watching that Netflix series. There are so many interesting things about it: It's peak performance, entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, adrenaline rushes, high-stakes work, ruthless competition, and death-defying danger, all wrapped up into one. No other sport or hobby like it!
Right? I’ve been binging the Netflix series and haven’t watched an actual race but the cars and engineering on the cars itself fascinate me. It’s like racing fighter jets on the ground within inches of each other
A sport that few can participate. It's Big but the public can not be engaged with the sport fully.
The Netflix show is a reality TV show, the audio is heavily edited to make it entertaining. I highly recommend people watch the actual races and qualifying, even the practice sessions can be exciting to watch. I love that DTS has got so many people into the sport but I also hope people understand this is a professional sport, not a reality TV show.
the netflix show does not represent f1 well at all.
Their mental condition is no less than a fighter pilot

Bottas is the opposite of Kimi. One wants to express every feeling, emotion and experience and the other just wants his drincc.
dont forget gloves and steering wheel!
bwoah
@@EfficientTrout Someone, give this man an icecream
Kimi was a centennial talent. In his peak, Schumi didn’t want him to Ferrari, 2005 and 2006, and then Alonso, the Spanish bus driver, 2009. When he came back and was 3rd with Lotus (!!) in the Championship, that is something which tells everything. Just leave me alone…
Very cool video, would love to see this also on other "easier" tracks to have a comparison as to how much Workload that actually is.
As always incredible content, keep it up guys!
Good idea!
Could imagine Austria or Monza being not that influenced by the workload. Though challenging in different areas (heavy curbs in Austria and very high speed in Monza). Also i dont know how many hange you do at spa. As the first and the third sector are long straight where you can somewhat rest.

Superb video from Mercedes as always ❤️

Thank you Riki, Valterri, great video! Honestly wish you did this at every track, its really nice getting a better perspective and understanding of what the drivers have to do. Im actually stunned how Valterri can say Monaco is the most mentally demanding and yet hes still ultra competitive, making it seem almost effortless. My first Monaco GP, lets go!
Thank you Valtteri for taking the time to share your thoughts on what important things you consider during a lap. And thank you Mercedes for putting together this video.

Very tricky to do, especially on a street track in a narrow run-off area!

keep slaying the podiums. the Team deserves it
The irony
The depth of talent in the Silver Arrows team continues to impress. Great explanations from Valtteri.
We've seen track guides n hot real and sim laps from many drivers but it would be interesting to see a lap in slo-mo talking through every action the driver makes re steering wheel control adjustments (brake balance, diff etc) in addition to shifting, accelerating, braking, driving line. Not necessarily Monaco but one of the tracks that requires more input than most...
Going 200mph through a tunnel where it’s dark half of the way? Much respect to you gents!!
Don't forget heavy braking
I can barely keep up with the buttons on my PS controller...wow!
I'm French, so it's difficult for me to understand every Formula One's videos in English... but this video is so clear !! I understood all the explanations :)
Merci beaucoup pour ce contenu de qualité hihi

Man that is a lot of things to remember during the race regarding the wheel. Very impressive what these drivers do
I see a Mercedes video and I click 'like' before watching it. You guys are brilliant as always :)

That was fantastic! Valtteri would make a great professor!
Thank you for the fantastic video. All of the insight and what the drivers do to get around this difficult circuit is extremely useful for a sim racer like myself. Keep up the good work, would love to see more content like this!
I’ve always felt that Bottas would be a great friend to have. He seems like such a humble, kind, and just all round nice guy. I’m glad he’s still got a drive and he seems to be enjoying life a bit more this year 🙂

Thanks Merc! Very informative video. Enjoyed it.
Still mad how they keep control over so many things at those speeds
What I will never understand is how they do all of this while constantly screaming. I mean, I know would be screaming so I assume they do too.

You watch one onboard lap of Senna driving in monaco, manual shifting, fighting with the car, sometimes taking the corner with one hand, and you instantly know. All these dials on the wheel, all these settings, hocus pocus..i couldn't give a flying F. Then go back, and watch another Senna lap.
I hear what you say, but who is going faster?

Love listening to the drivers breakdown a track like this
Thanks Mercedes! More of this please!
Meanwhile here I am trying to finish a lap with a front wing...
"Get in there bottas! Well done mate!"
Wanna here that
Yeah, about that...
Amazing! I didn't realize they constantly change settings on a turn by turn or section by section basis like that. I had just assumed it was something they would occasionally tweak throughout the race to dial the car in more the way they want it.
Outstanding video and quite informative.
This straight up debunks the myth that men can’t multitask 😂

All this work and not even taking into account other drivers present on track. Having to avoid them or overtake them. Amazing work!
Yep, so alongside actually driving the car there's also everything else going on around them!
Wow I never thought that Monaco is a 7 gear race. I thought going down the start finish straight that the drivers might go up to 8th gear. This whole video was great and very much insightful. Thanks Mercedes
Love all your videos! Perfect way to get the fan engaged in with understanding of the technical and logistical challenges of F1 racing. Super nice @mercedesamgf1
How many laps before Mazepine puts it into a wall?
? 0 laps...
definitely wanna see more bottas commentary in videos w the guys
Thanks Mercedes , the video was very helpful 👌🏽👍🏻❤️
"Its just the car" they say. These drivers live on the limits and not crashing is insane. I imagine HAM has an inner sense and feel for what the car should do - and he would extract the best time in any car.
Seeing this just makes me even more concerned for everyone safety with Mazespin racing at Monaco. I pray he doesn't hurt someone.
Damn all this and Hamilton still dominates respect 🙏
This is a great educational content to allow viewers understand how complex it is to race a F1 car, and have them think twice in the future before criticizing a driver's error......even 1 corner, there are probably multiple settings to tweak and eye and attention still need to be on the race track and apex...etc...
Hey @Mercedes thanks for the video!!!

Great stuff Mercedes, do more like this.
something about the onboard footage in this video looks so much more raw and fast, not sure if it's the camera perspective but I definitely prefer it to what we get on broadcasts!
Its because its so narrow. You dont habe many circuits where you hab just a few centimeters to the wall the whole lap.
Great info video, thanks guys.
