This is probably my favorite episode of Game Knights to date. Lots of video to sink ones teeth into. Tbf one of my first ever decks was a Simic coloured Eldrazi deck. The aim was to ramp out a Defense of the Heart on turn 2 or 3, trigger it the following turn (Forbidden Orchard was a 4 of and I ran 8+ mana dorks) to go and get two huge Eldrazi like Pathrazer of Ulamog, and then beat down with them, protected by counterspells while the table scrambled to deal with them coming down 7 turns early lol. Thing is they were only the first wave, decoys to soften up the table and clear through their answers and defenses. The category 1-3 Kaijus. They were the early game while I ramped and drew cards and soon started hard casting Kozilek, Ulamog and Emrakul from turn 6/7 onwards, recurring them, my ramp, my draw, and my counterspells whenever the Eldrazi titans died. It was brutally fun, but the group I played with kinda hated it so I stopped running it.
@@valkys8926 no. Kill the combo player, then the Sliver player, then the Eldrazi player, and then hope you've got enough left to finish off the control player whose been helping you kill everyone else. Or.. y'know.. just run stax and hate bears and bully everyone simultaneously. Be efficient. :P

That’s super awesome dude, I’m personally happy you enjoy the content even though I’m just a viewer like you, and I definitely recommend magic, it’s an extremely fun game to play, draft and commander are endless fun. Opening packs is so much fun when you are with your friends and when you get enough synergy to build a deck it is amazing. Go out and meet some people near you that play magic, I would have quit the game years ago if I didn’t play with friends all the time
dude honestly that's great. Command zone got me hooked on MTG in the first place too so that is amazing that u are starting to play! Also try untap.in it is basically MTG online and you can make your deck out of any cards on the database. If you love magic that much try it out!
@@nooneknows3520 totally, usually see game knights and everyone brings some new fresh deck to the table using new commanders or things. She just came in with her premade im going to win deck. It's a great deck in a semi competitive group, but not really for game knights. Turn 6 blightsteel??? If jimmy didnt have an out, this game was not going to be as good as it ended up being at all.
Isn't that every 2nd round of commander tho? At least that's how I usually feel in my playgroup and I don't even play super disgusting stuff (might as well at this point because they all focus me anyways lol)

@@madhatten00 eh tbh it isn't completely unreasonable that they attack me, I play the game the longest time and therefore have the most experience. Another thing is that they expect my decks to be pretty versatile and have the strongest pop-offs I think. Their decks already had some pretty insane turns as well so I am not so sure about that but eh, hard to convince them otherwise :D Oh one reason could be that I plague-winded them once and then took one of their creatures with my teneb when they had a pretty good board state and still have that in mind lmao
@@jacobgober3875 yeah no one really had a chance against her deck. Once the wipes came in the middle I knew she had won. Top 5 most annoying decks to play against imho.
@@Xaladen Well, luckily most cards she played was budget cards. The only expensive one was Karn and he isn't all that in EDH, almost always a 1 for 1. And her ramp was slower than the average high tuned Kozilek decks. Also her draws were pretty darn good for Kozileks "shoal" effect. I was more worried about them letting Josh draw so many cards.
lol they def had a chance, if someone wouldn't have stopped josh he would have won in the middle, same with jimmy if got his sac system up, and also Jacob at one point also had an eldrazi titan and multiple very strong cards.
@@phatbastard0alkaline budget is a subjective term here. The eldrazi titans are all over $20 except her commander. Also ugin and karn are both over $60. Saw a paradox engine and ancient tomb also, so yeah dont think I would personally call that budget.
Looking back recently this is still one of my favorite episodes, no fancy guest stars just a fan and a great game with a bunch of interaction and turns that completely change the state of the game so much to love
One of the better Game Knights for a while, nice to get a real solid game. Jacob was fantastic, and bringing a deck that's all about playing off what your opponents do is such a solid choice, all about the 75% theory. Only thing that seems like a shame is him getting eliminated first. Of course, I get it, it wouldn't be a game without treating him like an actual player. Glad to see from the end that he got to do a lot more out there with you guys, and that he was such a good sport about everything.
None of their deck ia even close to 75% though? Like... bruh. They are good players assembling fun decks, none of them would stand a chance against a competitive 75% list.
Yeah I think he was only eliminated first because Ashlen was so far ahead that she didn't want Jacob casting his commander again to let the other two draw cards. Smart decision on her part. Unfortunately for him, group hug commanders can easily make you a target, especially if you're as far ahead as she was.
This is my favorite kind of game. Everyone got to be king of the hill at least once, and nobody died or got locked out too early. Although Jimmy got shut down quite a bit, he did get to make some important plays.
@John Switzer Nah dude I totally agree. He deck is sort of the reason I stopped playing commander. There are a lot of decks (im looking at you, stax) that are so oppressive to play against and take away the best part of commander in my opinion; the giant creatures and spells that you couldn't play in any other format.
I mean you could say all that, but there are lots of ways that that big dick energy eldrazi deck could have gone tits up, especially if they hadn't checked jacobs copy deck so hard. Personally I think eldrazi decks are cool, and she played hers well.
I am pretty sure this is definitely the best Game Knights episode so far. Every deck showed what it can do and it was quite a long episode. Watching Kozi my boy saying ''No'' to so many spells was super fascinating. Amazing job guys
Hear me out; Game Knights Battle Royale. All previous guest 2 part episode from different tables. Everyone's a knight but someone could leave "king/queen" I mean the two year event is coming up in...November? Could be cool
Very nice showing from Ashlen and the kozilek deck... she drew aprox 11 cards, fetched 5 lands, and countered 8 spells. with at least one super clutch counterspell per player she eliminated. Made it look easy
@@arielfeldman8077 I finished... and OMG the twists! The turns! This is my favorite episode. I wish I lived in Ohio so I could play Mr. Guy. But that colorless deck was stupid powerful. How does someone go about assembling such a monstrosity? =D
Nothing surprises me more and makes me so glad to watch these videos, is how you guys don’t get angry after ALL the stuff that happens. My group would have flipped a house after everything that happened.
My group too. My favorite of my decks to use is a Red/Blue coin flip chaos deck with the commanders being Okaun and Zndrsplt. The second I play Okaun, the entire table targets me, every time.
I love card games. And watching people play them. I've never played mtg before but the energy Jacob has really makes me wanna play.... maybe I'll get a starter to see how I like it. =)

Best game knight ever ! Solid play, nice interaction, best guest, jimmy not mana screwed, josh almost died to infect again after a long time ago, love for ashlen ❤️..
This was probably my favorite episode yet! Not only was it a great game where everyone had a shot, but seeing Ashlen take it down in such an awesome way was amazing! I especially loved it when Jacob offered her that alliance and she was like "Nah, I think I've got this on my own", then she proceeded to knock out everyone in a row. Totally badass. Between this epic showing and Autumns recent pt win it's an amazing time to be a women in magic.
I love the production value on these, but I was under the impression that we would get a bunch more content with the lower production on Extra Turns. What happened to those? There's been 2 I think?
This cant be Jacob's first and last guesting. Hope to see him back. :D This episode is sooooo great. Others : * tapping lands to cast spell* Ashlen : Nope!
it’s super cool that jacob brought a deck that’s built around making a multiplayer game as fun and chaotic as possible. i’d love to see him back on the show
I love this episode of Game Knights! The match is so dynamic and often shifting. Ashlen and Jacob are awesome guests and their chemistry is so great! Please have another episode with these quests again! I love to see more! 🤗😃
Am I the only one who noticed that Ashlen broke the deal she made with Jacob about no board wiping for 2 turns, and denied his win with that? But I’m happy nobody in the table noticed, it made this incredible game last longer!
I noticed as well though I wasn't sure if the two turns had already passed at that point. In Commander games there is so much going on it's hard to keep track lol

Man Ashlyn maintaining eye contact while countering that Ulamog. Holy shit she just showed everyone who's boss....
and this kids, is why you ALWAYS bully the eldrazi player
But ours suffers from low self esteem issues! It kinda ruins the fun when he just gets depressed......
always bully the sliver player :) Then the eldrazi player :D
@@valkys8926 no. Kill the combo player, then the Sliver player, then the Eldrazi player, and then hope you've got enough left to finish off the control player whose been helping you kill everyone else. Or.. y'know.. just run stax and hate bears and bully everyone simultaneously. Be efficient. :P
However, I am our control player. And one of my other friends is too, who I do like to bully. So thats fun.
First i wanna say that i dont even own a deck of MTG cards, dont even play it. Saw u guys at rec page 4 days ago and i wanted to check out what this game is about. I dont watch videos that are more then 10 mins long, but i spend more than 3 hours watching your videos, and i gotta say that u guys are AMAZING. The amount of work u put into one video is...idk Im speechless. I have never been more entertained. I watched full videos and i enjoyed every second of it. Maybe one day i can get some lessons from u guys, cus u made me order some decks and start playing MTG. Keep it up guys!
If you love magic that much try it out!
xr1stlive I highly recommend getting into MTG it’s an extremely fun and rewarding pastime
Ashlen's deck was the definition of brutal.
ashlen's deck was disgusting
game knights is supposed to be 'fun'???
@@madhatten00 I would say that deck was bordering on CEDH. That deck should not have belonged there.
@@nooneknows3520 totally, usually see game knights and everyone brings some new fresh deck to the table using new commanders or things. She just came in with her premade im going to win deck. It's a great deck in a semi competitive group, but not really for game knights. Turn 6 blightsteel??? If jimmy didnt have an out, this game was not going to be as good as it ended up being at all.
it should be called "no"
Even though she didn't cast paradox engine good thing it got banned, would've been disgusting with that deck
Ashlyn: I will recast Ulamog!
RUclips Subtitles: I will redo the gulag!
Yup, checks out.
Yikes.
I see no difference
*Communism intensifies*
This wasn’t commander. It was arch enemy
true, ashlen's deck was straight up disgusting
Isn't that every 2nd round of commander tho? At least that's how I usually feel in my playgroup and I don't even play super disgusting stuff (might as well at this point because they all focus me anyways lol)
@@GamerdevilPro if theyre focusing u and u dont even have a board state, u probably need to find a better play group due to possible bullying or need better diplomacy skills. If ure the clear threat and have a deck strong enough to beat everyone else even after they focused u like what happened in the video. Yeah you totally deserved it.
@@madhatten00 eh tbh it isn't completely unreasonable that they attack me, I play the game the longest time and therefore have the most experience. Another thing is that they expect my decks to be pretty versatile and have the strongest pop-offs I think. Their decks already had some pretty insane turns as well so I am not so sure about that but eh, hard to convince them otherwise :D
Oh one reason could be that I plague-winded them once and then took one of their creatures with my teneb when they had a pretty good board state and still have that in mind lmao
Pretty much
To me, the most awesome game knights episode so far. Jacob is awesome!
Btw... INSANE Kozilek, Ashlen! I was missing a colorless deck in game knights.
I want to put "Are you gonna pay for Rhystic Study?" on a shirt or hat haha!

Can we have jacob back on another episode of Game Knights? That man has a voice of an angel.
petition to get jacob as a regular guest
yes yes yes yes
Agreed
These are the best games, when everyone has a chance to go off and the game swings in every direction.
Great game. Keep it up, Game Knights!!
The problem I had is it felt like they were always on the back foot against her except for a few moments in the game
Same
I will cast...
Ashleen : No
I will cast...
Ashleen: Yes, but actually No
Mother may I lol.
What is this blue control
What the hell did she even discard to stop that coup?
75% isn't competitive.... That's the whole point!
I agree
"I'm going to equip kozilek to my lightning greaves"
Oh god! Even the boots have eyes!
Pfft how many spells can kozilek counter? ...oh... wow
You must never have fought a Kozilek deck. Oh boy, it sucks.
@@DeviltoGeorgia34 I have not I was surprised for sure
It was definitely ridiculous lol. Made me want to build it actually!
@@DeviltoGeorgia34 everything being countered ruined this episode for me tbh. That and the fact that she was so cocky, it made it unpleasant to watch
@@jacobgober3875 she wasn't any cockier than the guys.
Just keep bringing Jacob back. Think it would be neat. Or the previous guest can welcome in the new guest each game.
I love that second idea. They can knight them to pass on the torch as the community rep.
Josh saying it's frustrating he can't cast his spell, after he cast gaddock teeg earlier is top level karma
Ashlen is savage.
Blightsteel Colossus with haste and shroud is so slimy.
John Switzer Well it seemed like a pretty fun game nonetheless. She played well and deserved to win.
Like the giant creatures and spells in her deck?
I am pretty sure this is definitely the best Game Knights episode so far. Every deck showed what it can do and it was quite a long episode. Watching Kozi my boy saying ''No'' to so many spells was super fascinating. Amazing job guys
She discarded that Kozilek like a boss
Ashlyn: “Oh no! They have the exact right card to beat me this is really not looking good”
Also Ashlyn: “Ummm Ulamog discards and counters”
Oh no, anyway
kozilek not ulamog
34:40 bui, that look, the way she discards that card. Friggin priceless xD
That turns me on! 😂
Hear me out; Game Knights Battle Royale. All previous guest 2 part episode from different tables. Everyone's a knight but someone could leave "king/queen" I mean the two year event is coming up in...November? Could be cool
Charlie underrated comment tbh
bruh yes
Very nice showing from Ashlen and the kozilek deck... she drew aprox 11 cards, fetched 5 lands, and countered 8 spells. with at least one super clutch counterspell per player she eliminated. Made it look easy

Please, bring Jacob and Ashlen again.

He was a great guest
I'll be honest. I'm only halfway into this episode. THIS GAME IS NUTS. Is this what Krillin feels like watching other people fight?
haha
You're only halfway through the shenanigans, then.

I love decks like that. My Riku deck is what I'll often play against new people, because it's as good as their deck.
Jacob's little hype-up moment in the intro instantly made me move my cursor over the like button and click.
Jacob's smile is a proof of the happiness of playing MTG. Great episode, guys and greetings from Chile
I love card games. And watching people play them. I've never played mtg before but the energy Jacob has really makes me wanna play.... maybe I'll get a starter to see how I like it. =)
It's a great game. Highly recommend it. You can learn how to play by listening to their podcast.

It's finally here! I'm so excited!
I know right!
And it was on that day that everyone learned to always keep beating the eldrazi until he is out of the game and then focus on the rest
Villainous Wealth for nine hitting 6 cards... With forty minutes left in the video? Hmmmm
I was thinking maybe there would be two games in this one when I saw that play lol
Get Jacob back! Man this was the best game knights I have seen. Ashlen had great banter, Jacob's positive attitude was great and he has an infectious smile. Great episode.
I think I know what next week's episode of Command Zone is. "How to deal with Eldrazi"
Ensnaring bridge
Bully the Eldrazi player.
I know my eldrazi can be beat by a good Zakama deck if I can’t get lightning greaves or something else with shroud out
The guys: we’re going to have a fun game where we play meaningful cards that effect the board
Ashlyn and Kozilek: well yes but actually no
Poor wedge being photoshopped out of the thumbnail for the contest

Any reason why?
At first I thought it was two games but I was even more excited to find out one game was >1 hour long.

It depends on how you count. They made the deal at Ashley’s turn does that count as one or is it next two turn?
