I had considered doing a laser surgery for eyesight correction. But after seeing all these eye doctors wearing contact lenses themselves I think it’s probably a safer option. Can’t afford to lose my eyes.
😂 cant stop laughing
Don't do LASIK
Probably get paid commission to push the contact lenses, in the UK I haven’t came across one optician or eye doctor in lenses they all wear glasses - not soft. Lenses just dry your eyes out.
I had laser eye surgery (smile not lasik to prevent further dry eye) so I can stop wearing lenses and vision is great, better option than drying your eyes out with lenses
This week I have been to my eye guy in Caldwell ID, I am trying precision 1 & total 1. I still feel like I have sand in my eyes. I’m going to mention the Acuvue Oasys! Thank you
I use Precision1 and I really really like it!
Tell me the best toric contact lenses which could correct the corneal irregularity more???
Can you do a video on best contact lense for astigmatism from patient’s perspective. I’m looking for a recommendation that will get me better vision clarity. I have astigmatism and I’m not very happy with my current contact lenses.
lol the editor 😂
I have the rare and pretty unknown Cogan Syndrome, so my eyes are more than sensitive, after a few hours wearing contacts my eyes get really red and start burning, also I never manage to remove them without traumatizing the eyes (since I got the Cogan, it used to go smoothly back in yhe day). Any suggestions? Any magic contact lenses that fit my needs? Or should I just give up and wear glasses?
I used to use the Oasis one day for years and ended up with such dry eyes from wearing lenses. This had never been a problem before. For me, if I could go back I wouldn’t even take the risk of wearing contacts I would stick to glasses as dry eyes are extremely difficult to live with
i used to wear lenses my whole life (15 years) and ended up having dry eyes since 2023. i really try to wear contacts once or twice a week but i need to put eye drops in when i wear them, i never knew that you can have chronic dry eyes from contacts, if i knew i never would’ve worn them that much, like daily.
I never knew this either, opticians don’t mention if the eyes get dry it’s a long term issue. You just assume once the lenses are out the dry eye will stop but it doesn’t. If you don’t already use it Flaxseed and omega 3 fish oil both in maximum strength is a game changer for dry eye relief
@@Dotty1110 thank you!
I’ve used precision1 and total1 and it doesn’t work for my left eye with astigmatism. Every blink it gets blurry, My doc said I have meibomian gland and I’ve been using Ocusoft lid scrub for the 1 month straight and haven’t noticed a difference. So I’m looking for a new brand
Wait so I don’t need to spend tons on scleral lenses???
I haven’t had contacts in 12 years
Would love to wear them again
Can i wear contact lense even i had a pterygium???
I’m pretty sure I’ve had dry-eye for years. Not sure how long, but regardless, I wore contacts when I was about 14 (17 years ago), and always had to dig around under my eyeball to fish out a strand of hair from my head that had stuck to my eye (or contact, i suppose) and “drifted” back to behind my eye, causing absolutely unbearable discomfort. I eventually ripped my contacts off and threw them on the ground in the middle of a funeral because they agitated me so badly, and consistently, and I never looked back.
Is anyone familiar with this issue, and know whether contacts these days have made strides in that regard? I wouldn’t mind giving them a shot again.
Contacts have gotten better, but a lot of times it's best to treat the issue of dry eyes first.
QUESTION: I have always resented my need for contacts since my eyes are on the dry side, but glasses hurt my face. So since I have to wear contacts, I like wearing colourful ones. How do Desio coloured contact lenses rank according to you? I would really appreciate a thorough review of their monthly and 3-monthly lenses, talking about water content and what not. (also a quick answer here would help as well)
I don't have experience with them, and therefore, I wouldn't be able to do a review. I would be curious how they would stack up against fda approved lenses, especially for long term use.
@@DrEyeGuy Thanks so much for the feedback! Truth is, I do wonder about coloured contacts in general. If there are some that are better than others. I ended up going to Swati coloured contacts. Brands such as Desio, Solotica, Swati, ColorCl and Olens are all over youtube now as the "best coloured contacts". Might be worth a look from a real professional such as yourself?
Perhaps another video idea! :D
Can you recommend what color contacts are good for eyes that are dry? I currently use the daily optics regular contacts. Thanks!
Sorry, I use Acuvue oasis dailies
Did you find some prescription color lenses? Do you have astigmatism?
I was still having sensitivity problems with Total 1. I haven't found a contact that works for me yet. Total 1 has been the most comfortable but it's not good enough for me.
Try a slightly different BC/DIA lens, even if its different that prescribed.

My left eye gets red a lot in the corner . About 5 months ago i had problems with my contacts the left eye. I tried drops and cleanings and bought new pairs and nothing helped the left eye feels impossible to keep them in and even if it doesn’t hurt it makes my whole left eye turn red.
I went to the eye doctor and asked if my tear ducts were messed up because that eye feels like it doesn’t get moisture because it quits hurting after putting drops but soon as the drops dried I couldn’t stand it. That just wetting my eye period somehow made it feel fine. But without my eye being wet I feel like I have a coin in my eye. She said no and prescribe me drops she said where very powerful and to not overdue. after 2 weeks my eye seemed sorta the same looking but alil whiter. I tried putting contacts in and no luck. I thought maybe eye needs more time to heal. Waited another month and no luck I even tried using the rest of the prescription drops that only seem to help redness.
Its been months now that I’m stuck in glasses because of this. I’m desperate for help because in my line of work I really need to be OUT of my glasses and back in contacts.
I suspect you may need a slightly different BC/DIA lens for that problem eye. Two different lenses.
did ur eyes get any better? i also struggle with dry eyes and hate wearing glasses :(
Is there a lens for dry eye patients who are allergic to BAC (preservative)?
Not specifically, but Bac isn't found in contacts. You would still need to avoid in the the drops and solutions.
I mistyped, I meant BAK, a preservative@@DrEyeGuy
Are those contact lenses to help ease the dry eye symptoms or just the normal contact lenses but for people with dry eyes?
Mostly great contacts that can still be worn by people with dry eyes. But, I will say, I have had some patients that feel less dryness when they wear contact lenses.
What is the best solution to fill soft contact lenses to reduce dry eye through the day? I use Sclerafil for my scleral lens, but not a good option for my soft lens
Are you asking what solution works best to store in the case overnight?
@@DrEyeGuyyes Doc. I usually store my lens in Clear Care with Hydraglide, which cleans them really well overnight. My eye ends up really dry halfway through the day
I’m a plus 7. I don’t have many options
I have astigmatism, and a high level in my right eye. So, I'm also more limited.
That's a challenge I should have mentioned in the video... unfortunately there is a range of powers for all of these contact lenses.
Yeah, the power ranges. My power range is okay,, I'm a -3.00 in both eyes. it's the measurements for the lenses in my case.I think I don't remember the terminology. @@DrEyeGuy
Dr Smith speaks in too low voice or you need to adjust your mic for guests next time.
Lol I can hear him perfectly fine. Sounds like you need to be watching videos about hearing aids, not contact lenses 😜
@@portlandgoose4727 So you read a genuine feedback and chose to respond with personal attacks? How immature can you be? Everyone can clearly hear the difference in voice levels between them, just get off the internet. Toxic trash.
Hello sir Are you looking for a professional youtube thumbnail designer?
Once u go dailies u can't go back
Oh yes you can.
I went dailies 6 weeks ago. This last weekend both of my eyes sufferered corneal abrasions upon removing the lenses. They'd been in about 17 hours. Eyes felt a little dry, but id experienced far drier in the past (been wearing over 30 years). No reason at all to think anything was awry.
Contacts came out easy and moments later, excruciating pain.
Went to doctor after half a day of no improvement, and after examining said that the contacts had torn part of my cornea.
Absolutely horrific experience. Worst by far in decades of wearing contacts. Im still healing.
Goodbye dailies!
@@ericp6496 I don't think dailies did that. I bet u just wore them over night or something
@huhwhatomg Nope. Had them in about 16 hours. Even if I wore them overnight that should never have happened.
I've only done some very cursory searching so far, but it has happened to others.
@huhwhatomg should mention. It was Cooper Aquaclears. Must be something with the material. I've worn Cooper Biofinity for years and always liked them enough to keep asking for more.
Doctor recommended their dailies, so...
they all suck
