I am getting addicted to your videos, Bjørn. I am Italian, and it looks like my Country is still in the Medieval Age, when it comes to electric cars. Yesterday I watched an Italian video about Peugeot 2008 electric. They never mentioned the battery pack, how fast it charges, how much the car is efficient... Judging from the Italian kind of test, I understand that in Italy we are so much behind. Keep up your good work, I am getting Norvegian Blood in my veins, video after video :-)
Bjorn I think the effort you put into your videos is incredible. I can barely stay in a car for 2 hours. But you literally drive for 4-5 hours for fun and statistics. Insane.
Yes, rain adds a lot of drag - if you think that for every mile (1.6km) a typical car shifts about 4.5 TONS (4080kg) of air - imagine how much mass of water the car slams into and has to accelerate! Also, the water on the road surface has to be squeezed out from under the tires, so this adds a lot of rolling resistance, too.
@@karlis-blums I must say I can see bigger fuel consumption in my fossil Skoda Octavia 1,5 L TSI. From 22 km/l to 19 km/l with 110 km/h in non-rain and rain respectively. That is what? 10% more fuel. In my C63 6,2 L V8 on the other hand. I feel no difference at all. Gives me 4,5 - 6 km/l no matter what I do. 90 km/h or 120 km/h is same consumption haha
Neil Blanchard I do about 50k km a year so winter driving in is well known 😉 I’m sure there is loss in rain too. All I say is that it looks like in electrics propulsion it is much more noticeable then in ice cars. See that Jens Christian Schmidt also do not notice it on his C63 😜
@@karlis-blums The irony is that fossil fuel ICE is so inefficient to begin with (20-30%), that adding another inefficiency (like rain) doesn't make as big of a difference as it does to an EV which is 80-90% efficient in ideal conditions.
