I have the first Benq 4k projector that started it all. For the price its definitely worth the pick up. This is an ideal setup for budget home theatre enthusiasts. This is what started the big screen adaptation for me in 2017. My next buy would be either a sony or a JVC native 4k projector or even 8K.
Good review👍 how does it handle panning(?) Moving the camera? With my older BenQ this is terrible.. looks like fast paced power point, and the same for things moving up/down for instance the ballons in the movie UP..
A great review as always. Although I dont hate my benq 2700 I must say this: I 've had enough with the DLP crap $1.600 is not a low price and in order to get the most of that crap one must have proper masking and light control. With low native contrast you get a washed out picture and lack the fine detail and depth. I need my car darn it!!
Is there a light and non-professional software to align the image if the projector is placed sideways with the hdmi cable? (for reasons of space I cannot project with the projector straight ...) I have a mini-projector the dragontouch mini z1 which with android 7.1 allows me to position the projector where I want and to have a large or small square or rectangle, (the problem is that when I connect the hdmi cable, the image resets itself, deforming ... obviously). A software for the hdmi connection or that makes the image I set the size of the device appear ??? (it has keystone correction but it only works if everything is centered, plus the keystonec does not allow me to shrink the image and change the shape

A few months ago I decided to sell the projector to a person then I know (at a ridiculous price) I'am convinced that to have a mini projector I need space more space than a normal TV, now maybe the situation has changed, I don't know .... what a pity the z1 mini.... for some small defects it is not an exceptional product)
thanks Shane for this incredible video! very usefull! I have set brilliant color to 10 and it is not as bright as you see in your video. My lamp has a few hours so I don't understand why you see so bright compared to me. An other thing: switching between settings is very slow compared to you. Why? do you have a steroid pumped edition? 😊
I’ve had to send mine back 2x cause the dmd chip keeps going out it gets white and black dead pixels this last time they sent me a refurbished unit and I’ll get today 6-28-2022 and hopefully no issues like this again but i read at Reddit another guy sent his in 6x for the exact same problem if this is true then must be a quality control issue on the parts or they are just cheap junk dmd chips.
All right, what was your source for True Lies clip? I want to know how that looks since we all know we won't see a 4K disc release as long as Cameron is alive.
Can you do a review on the Samsung premire ultra short throw projector. Three a couple reviews on it but none of them do it like you do with enough detail and explanation on why it's good or bad and I honestly believe your reviews are the best. So thank you

@@vrslash1 there is a usb port on the rear of the projector that the android can plug into. I believe the only difference between the 850 and the 850i is that the 850i had a dedicated spot inside the projector for the dongle and the original 850 has an external USB port

Did they just created 2 exactly similar video projector but one is delivered with a QS01 dongle and not the other. Or did they created a completely different device without dongle spot on the tk850.

My Viewsonic FauxK projector looks wonderful. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with them, except you can’t say, “native 4K”, which I think is the same as buying a huge truck cuz your tiny
Never thought you'd cover the Benq line of PJs as they are on the cheaper side. I would like you to check the W2700/HT3550 which is considered a more of a "movie/film" PJ as opposed to others like TK 800 series.
@@guillaumeSONY What is your screen size and type? I am projecting it on a 135 inch motorized screen with 1.1 gain. My room has no windows so that's a plus but the walls are bright yellow. Which makes it for a washed out image especially when the scenes are bright. The PJ has very poor black levels compared to my Samsung 4K HDR TV (NU 8000 65 inch). The PJ also does not produce the sharpest image but has one of the colour accurate images i have seen from a PJ at this price point which leads to a sacrifice in brightness as well. Overall a decent PJ.
@@ark9515 my room has standard white walls, the screen is 85" 1.0 gain motorised but it is far from side walls so I don't have too much light reflection
@@ark9515 black levels are not comparable with a TV sadly, that's a weak point of DLP technology, try to adjust the settings the best you can, iris, gamma, brightness... To get the best contrast possible
I don't know... somehow Projectors seem to be frozen in the past, while TVs are progressing quickly. Still no native 4K, Game Mode, real useable contrast. You get a big picture, sure, but any cheap edge-lit bargain-bin TV will likely have better Image Quality than even a top of the line Projector...
And in a "CO2 reducing world": "How many Watts does your hair dryer use"? Why is the lamp not LED? It shoiuld at least be LED! Don buy "Lamp based" projectors.

Good point. i had a Dlp and the color wheel motor/light engine went out 3 times under warranty. Plus the rainbow 🌈

When i make changes to the picture mode, it takes light 15 seconds for it to switch. Is that normal?

The stick enables the android TV. The base models if these PJs do not have Android TV to begin with.
