I want only for movies and gaming in a basement.. should i go with this one ? Or is there better options ? ( i see 80ms for response time ?? Is that the comparison to my 1ms respond time computer monitor ? ... i guess you cant fps on a projector can you?)
I bought this literally 1 day before your review came out. Now I feel even more confident I made the right purchase :) Thanks! My use is mostly at night, but maybe 35% while the sun is still up and my blinds are closed but still emitting some indirect ambient light. I'm coming from the Benq HT2050 and I did a lot of research on various projectors including this one of course and for me it came down to the TK850 and the HT3550/W2700. I almost pulled the trigger on the the latter, but after looking at reviews for both the brighter image seemed like the more a more substantial and suitable upgrade for me, compared to the slightly better colors with a step down in brightness in the W2700. Great review videos btw. It's always nice to have a comparison thrown in there, like you did with the Tk800.
Hi, I would like to know is there any settings to see the movies in cinematic effect. I find the movies playing in 4K doesn't have cinematic effect and even though it is crystal clear it is not appealing very much. This is one factor which stops me from buying 4K projector. It is very good for sports though.
Just found this as I’m in the throws of upgrading to a 4K projector. Would you say that this is still a good buy today or can you recommend anything better as an all rounder I’m not a gamer, I really want the projector for occasional home use, but mainly for presenting high quality wildlife videos for fundraising. I just want to try and wow my audience with highly detailed 4k video/audio clips. Thanks for sharing this, I must say you sounded very positive and enthusiastic about this T850. Phil.
How is the 3D? I used the 2150a and was very disappointed in the brightness and the 3D didn't offer much pop in my opinion, and all the options were closed off
I bought the W2700 only 6 weeks ago, it’s already in the repair shop, to fix a 1 second half screen grey overlay on the left hand side, this happened while watching a movie, it’s intermittent, you can watch a movie, it’s fine all the way through, even 2 movies are ok, next time it can happen 4 times within 10 minutes. It’s been 2 weeks since I put it in for warranty repairs, there’s an update that only technicians can do, hopefully it’s sorted when I get it back...
Thanks for the review, you mentioned there are better projectors for gaming and single use media rooms; what would you recommend as the best 4K gaming for under £1000?
If i have a Dolby Atmos enabled soundbar would i be able to link it up to this projector and get Dolby Atmos sound watching films from a Dolby Atmos compatible source?
Got this about a month ago and love it. It doesn't have HDMI CEC, so with my Nvidia Shield plugged in, I can't turn it on or off using the Google Home, regardless, great projector for the price.
To add to my question and making it simple , Does this projector have settings to turn off motion smoothing? If so can you please show how to do that. Thanks in advance
thanks for your video! do you recommend the tk850 or the tk850i? Placed at a distance of 5.60m is it too far? I would have no other options. thanks so much!
Bought this unit and the Epson hc3800 and WOW the Epson blows this thing away....sadly as I like the price of the BenQ better. But for daytime viewing o feel 3lcd is sadly the only way to go
all things tech , how about the Optoma hd50x vs. benq tk850 which one the color would pop more when watching movies/4K shows? Which one has better black ? Cheers thanks, Mo
@@TheChefComic yes.. i got the 50x and tried and had to many synching issues and and pictuere wasn't good; so I return it. And got instead the UHD52ALV optoma and I am so happy with it..color and and sharpness and detail amazing. Using 100 ALR cingrey screen by elite scree. I recommend UHD52ALV if u can get on sale for $1500.
@@HabibiMo1 really that's crazy I read some good things about it. Do you think maybe it was a defective unit or maybe it was something wrong in the settings that could easily be fixed?
The Epson has way Brighter colors and better color accuracy. The Epson is larger sadly though. The tk850 does better for HDR10 gaming but input lag is much higher vs the Epson.
Also Epson has way easier and friendly setup and image placement with quick corner and lens shift vertically as well as horizontal it's much more user friendly
Got my HC3800 today and it is incredible. Son playing playstation atm. Replaced a 4400 lumen 1440 and not really missing them yet it seems very bright but hugely better blacks.
Extremely Disappointed with this Brand. It claimed lamp life can last 15 000 hrs, even lowest also can 4000 hrs. Rubbish!! I use less than 900 hrs the lamp stop working already. Now i cannot trust projector lamp life or this brand is talking shit.
Can anyone help me, should I go for tk850i or tk700 ? Only casual gaming ...i watch movies only..as in India there is a price difference also .850 is 25% higher priced from 700...so should I prefer 850i or go with 700..

When you're doing a side by side comparison it helps to use the same sequence of images and not different ones. This way you avoid an unfair test.
