When Ragnar, Bjorn and Ivar were killed the same song was played. Wow
Snake pit poetry
Ivar was the little brother too
My favorite 3 vikings
Not ragnars
His theme is death of a legend
The moment Ivar starts crying broke me
Yeah. He always tried to hide his weaknesses and that he's never afraid of anything. I think it's specially because of his physical limitations. It's the way that Ivar founds to "compensate" these limitations and appears to be stronger. To me, that's why he always tried to be feared by everyone. But, in the end, he revealed his human nature in his imminent death. That's touching, indeed.
@@williancardoso8714 That's true, but the other half is that he was afraid of being forgotten.
@@williancardoso8714 He wasn't afraid from death. He was afraid that he didn't deserve to enter Valhalla. All what you said is correct and I think it's obvious that he was afraid of that. In look of all his acts he were afraid for not entering Valhalla. His brothers didn't have this weakness he had, so he had to reach more than them to prove that he's a Ragnars son too and that he deserve to enter Valhalla. I mean, Floki had brought him to believe and everyone knows that he believed in the gods as much as Bjorn did. Ivar has not lost his faith in the gods, although he had to betray her. Nonetheless, Ivar wanted to make a name for himself and become the most famous. This is where the perfect parallel comes into play. Ragnar and Rollos. Rollo had never lost his faith either, but had to give up his brotherhood to Ragnar to gain fame. Because he was just a shadow of Ragnar. The same with Bjorn and Ivar. They 2 are too strong personalities to work together.
Which I also find very good. That Ivar and Bjorn died because they were the last main characters who had this strong belief and experienced something individually with Ragnar that Ubbe and Hvitserk cannot claim. Bjorn experienced a lot with Ragnar. Ivar went to England with Ragnar. And that the Alpha sons also die, the Ragnar saga shoots off very well. Nothing against Hvitserk or Ubbe. I think this is one of the reasons why Hvitserk was baptized. Because he thought the golden age was over (after Ubbe's in America and Bjorn and Ivar died).
He cries because he wanted to kill much more children, farmers and other innocent people.
@@panizal wtf are you talking about?
Ivar being afraid is nothing new.. he’s been afraid his entire life of being different or not enough. That’s what made him act in such cruel ways to mask his fear.
Glad u also noticed his facade he put on...especially around his brothers because he was desperate to prove himself their equal and couldn't be crying or opening up the way he did with his parents (Ragnar, Aslaug and Floki) and Freydis etc. His facade and need for revenge is also what pushed away his brothers too.
I’m sorry tell you you got that all wrong. He’s never been afraid. Yes he was born different, and because of his disability he had to work harder and be better than his brothers, but it wasn’t fear that drove him. His character is entirely built on pain, not fear. Physical pain and emotional pain that he turned into anger. Anger that instilled fear in others. Instilling that fear in others was the only way he’d get respect in their culture. Respect he needed to be able to show people that there was so much more to him than meets the eye: a great leader, military strategist, and a brilliant, highly intelligent mind. I also am sorry to tell you he wasn’t any more cruel than others, only the viewers tend to forgive their favorite characters more easily. Ragnar could be very cruel as well, Floki had a very dark mind, the Saxons and also Rollo in Frankia didn’t hesitate to kill children, the beloved Lagertha murdered, raped, had everyone opposing her regime executed, and cowardly shot a woman who had surrendered to her in the back. And so on. I’m not saying Ivar couldn’t be cruel at times, but so were all of the others. So yeah, I’m sorry, if you think fear is what drives a disabled person, then you don’t understand disability.

I think he was telling himself to not be afraid.

Ragnar had no idea what he was releasing when he said “be ruthless.” That literally defined Ivar’s entire life.

I'm happy for ubbe. Hvitserk should have never left him. He is a true family man who loves his brothers. I wish we could get a whole spinoff with just him and the natives. And also discovering other lands

Random fact: Ivar and Floki were the two characters who had more screen time of the show.
Not Ragnar aswell?
@@martinkaradjov6153 Ragnar dies exactly in the half of the series. Floki is the number 1 on screen time, then Ivar, then Bjorn and then Ragnar.

Ivar made all of us fall in love with him. You couldn't help but have respect for him in the end.
From the moment he was born to the moment he died...Ivar HAD TO fight. He ALWAYS had to prove in one way or another to people that he was MORE than just his birth defect. He was smart as hell...when it comes to loyalty...when Ivar says he has ur back, u can bet EVERYTHING that he has ur back...
As he once said...I might break a bone, but I can never break a promise!....
If that kid doesnt get more serious roles, I will be very upset
Ragnar said he would sit there awhile and saying I'm sure you won't mind when his daughter died. It's interesting the hvitserk said it to Ivar.
And before Lagertha's funeral, when Torvi is talking to Hali, she says 'You are not gone because you will always be in our hearts,' same as Ragnar to Gyda. Such nice, subtle touches.

Love the reaction! So sad to see Vikings end. It was the 1st reactions I've seen from you guys. Hopefully you get to The Last Kingdom sometime this year. Its a really good show and the perfect show to do after Vikings. Its a show that gets better as it goes on. I know you already know of it and are probably tired of hearing/seeing the recommendations for it.😁
The long, great journey comes to an end. Its been great to go through this with you ladies.
Beautiful scene with Hvitserk & Ivar ❤️
This. The reaction I cared most about seeing with respect to the finale.
Enjoy Valhalla. My king, my heart, my love 💙IVAR THE BONELESS💙. Such a badass yet again this episode. Broke my heart into pieces when he died, I cried so hard I couldnt see, love that his 2nd father Floki, felt his death. I cried even harder when my baby finally dropped his facade and admitted he was scared, most likely scared that he still wouldn't be accepted into Valhalla since hes a cripple.
Ivar has always been a lonely sad little boy deep down, just desperate for love from his family and to be seen as an equal. Had crows and someone feeling Ivars death so makes me realise even more that Ragnar and Ivar were truly special to the gods more than the others, Plus how Odin only spoke to Ivar, and rallied the sons of Ragnars death. Even Harbourt visited Ivar and took some of his pain on himself and gave him gifts. Nobody will ever forget Ivar and hes the only viking i heard of and learned about growing up lol. Alex has been outstanding in this show, this was his show after Travis left, has been carrying it since then and always knew that they couldnt kill him and still have a show without him, so makes sense that they killed him last episode.
I knew all along that Ivar could never kill Hvitserk, so happy they finally admitted their love for one another, Hvitserk was always meant to be with Ivar and Ivar was meant to save him and show everyone how much of a legend he is. I think they never showed us Valhalla and everyone reuniting so we could imagine it ourselves and how we see it exactly. Floki felt his adopted son Ivars death and will soon join him & Ragnar in Valhalla soon by the sounds of it (Floki telling Ubbe hes gonna die soon)
I hated and felt cheated when some scared boy killed Ivar but after awhile I realised, Ivar chose to let him kill him, Ivar could have killed that boy 3 times in the time he had before he got stabbed. Also think its amazing how again Ivar was like his father Ragnar, Kinda choosing his death and owning his fate also the parallels of both Ivar and Ragnar saying "Dont be afraid" to the people who they gave permission to kill them or send them to his death. Ragnar said it to Ecbert in 4x14 and Ivar said it in this episode. Ivar is definitely in Valhalla, I heard the ravens as soon as he died, plus Floki felt it, and Ivar is legendary just like his father. Wish we could have seen Ivar son once or that Ivar could have once at least, glad that he gets to grow up with Igor around, who adored and love his father.
I'm sure Katia did too but she held back and didnt let herself fall too hard since she realised Ivars in love with Freydis still not her.
PLEASE can you react to Ivar teh boneless I'm afraid by vcreations, its amazing so emotional, better than Zurik23ms tribute for him this time too.

Watching this show every week since it first aired has created a connection I cannot explain. Like Sith said, this show changed his life.
Ivar saying I'm afraid at the end broke me and I couldn't avoid getting emotional. I love that character to death. Ragnar was amazing and probably a better character, i loved every moment he had on screen, but I've never in my life saw so much of myself in a character as I did with Ivar. All his insecurities, the resentment, wanting to feel approved and loved, his frustrations etc... It touched me very deeply and made it easier for me to overlook his evil deeds because I resonated so much with the intense alienation and resentment that he always struggled deeply with. Thank you to Alex Hogh Andersen for this amazing performance, nobody could have done justice to Ivar like he did. The name Ivar The Boneless will always mean something to me.

@@chujithkosanam8915 much more respect! I hear about it millions of times while it’s actually not even a good show!
I think Ivar cried in the end because he was afraid he would not come to Valhalla and be forgotten.
I mean his whole life he only tried to prove himeself to the gods (even to his father in the beginning) and make sure to get a place in Valhalla eventhough he was a criple.
In my opinion its much more simple than that, he cried because reality finally hit him, he experienced what most humans experience in their last breaths, the panic the fear, the fear of the unknown. Remember the old one told him that he would suffer a fate that he (ivar) wouldn’t believe even if he told him.... that fate was that he would never enter Valhalla. Vikings were to not show fear at the moment of death not only did ivar show fear he wept and made it known that he was scared which is why his brother says “ no one will ever know” basically saying no one will ever find out you died like a coward and that sealed his fate to NEVER enter Valhalla.
This is what made his death so sad because i believe that deep down ivar has always been scared despite all of the battles and near death experiences he was in, his whole attitude and bravado was just a front to hide his fear because when it was his time to go he wept like a scared child in the arms of a parent.
@@LC-xn4dp my thoughts exactly when watching! Perfect way of putting it

Every time I see the scene of Ivar's death I can't help crying. The "I'm afraid" broke me. An epic ending for Ivar the boneless
Damn, i met u bcs of your vikings reactions, long time ago, cant believe this is ending, but it has been amazing 😏
The end when Hvitserk is renamed like Athelstan is a reference a the first King of United Kingdom, grandson of King Alfred
Possibly we see this history in Vikings Valhalla
Guthrum was renamed Athelstan, so was the name of Alfred's grandson, I will never understand why they did not include Guthrum in the series
Rip vikings, legendary show
Vikings Valhalla is probably a continuation on Netflix
There is a theory that Othere is
Hvitserk. They are both monks
who lived in England and are called Athelstan. We see that they both have scars on their backs from burns (when Bjorn burned Hvitserk alive). This is because Hvitserk slept with a goddess who appeared in the last chapters of this season that (I forget her name) and she rewarded him with the ability to go back to a moment in time where Ubbe was. Another proof of this is that when in Iceland they learn of Bjorn's death, the camera focuses on Othere who is sad. Why would the director have wanted to do something as irrelevant as this? because he wants us to know that Othere is Hvitserk. When fighting for the whale in Greenland, Othere has a very similar fighting style to Hvitserk. And at all times we realize how Othere cares a lot about Ubbe and always tries to be by his side. Why would he care so much about a random man he had just met? because he is his brother.
This was such a heavy episode. About an hour and a half after watching this I found out my father died. He had been sick a few weeks. I thought of him while watching the scene between Ubba and Floki. The last kingdom is based on fantasy novel, vikings was supposed to be based on real history, but they messed it so much it made the last kingdom seem more realistic.
They should check that show out no doubt!
best part about the last kingdom is scenes with alfred because hes the only good actor. Uthred and brida are umbearable to watch, brida more so but there are bright spots scattered around after s1
Nooooo
The show put it out there that Hvitserk will eventually become the first king of England, whose name was Athelstan. He is the one who fulfills the dream of Eckbert to join all the kingdoms.
thats a different athelstan, the show gave hvitserk the ending of the real life viking guthrum who was a viking who was baptised by alfred and named athelstan
@@OliverMcCaul that makes more sense
Historically it was Guthrum who was named "Athelstan" by Alfred and given East Anglia.
i love the use of heilungs music, it makes hvitserk seem like hes in a berserker rage, fighting for the sake of fighting
I said this before in another reaction to the show, I think each child was an aspect of Ragnar Ivar was the war monger Ubbe was the searcher of new lands Bjorn the king of Norway and I forget how the last childs name is but he was the christian Ragnar was when he was baptised in Paris. I know there was a fifth son but he was killed pretty early by Ivar

Started watching y'all for vikings but I stayed cuz you ladies are genuine n real ... No plastic shit.
I was satisfied with the ending. There is a continual theme of the "end of the Old ways" and beginning of new ones. This of course makes sense because the Viking Age eventually comes to an end, along with the Anglo-Saxon era. I'm sure everyone knows this by now, but I think it's really important to note that England is conquered in 1066 by the Normans, led by William of Normandy who is the great-great-great grandson of Rollo. In a way the Northman really did conquer all of England after all. This event marks the end of the Dark Ages and beginning of the Middle-Ages. Many historians also think the Norman conquest of England is the beginning of on-going animosity between the French and English.
I discovered you thru Viking I love your reaction

Björn Ironside is kinda like Swedens King Arthur. A legendary king of Sweden. I was honestly so sad that they made him norwegian in the series "Vikings". If they chose danish i could have accepted it better eventhough it too would have been completly wrong.
If you go back through the list of kings of sweden, he is the first one on it..and they made him a norwegian king in the show!
The reason the showrunners did this is clearly because Norway is simply the most beautiful of all the scandinavian countries. But it damn well hurt my swedish soul! As the sagas tell it..
From the saga of Ragnar Lothbrok:
The sons of Lodbrok went raiding in many lands: England, Normandy, France, and out over Lombardy. But it’s said the furthest they got was when they took the town of Luni. And one time they thought of going to Rome and taking that. And their warrings have become the most famous in all the northlands where Norse is spoken. And when they come back to their realm in Denmark, they shared out the lands between them. *Bjorn Ironside got Uppsala and central Sweden and all the lands that belong to that*, and it’s told that Sigurd Snake-in-Eye had Zealand and Scania and Halland, and Oslo Fjord, and Agder as far as Lindesnes and a good portion of the Norwegian Uplands, while Hvitserk had Reidgotaland and Wendland.
www.germanicmythology.com/FORNALDARSAGAS/ThattrRagnarsSonar.html
From wikipedia:
*Björn Ironside[a] was a Norse Viking chief and legendary king of Sweden*, who appears in Norse legends. According to the 12th- and 13th-century Scandinavian histories, he was the son of notorious Viking king Ragnar Lothbrok. He lived in the 9th century, being securely dated between 855 and 858.[1] Björn Ironside is said to have been the first ruler of the Swedish Munsö dynasty. In the early 18th century, a barrow on the island of Munsö was claimed by antiquarians to be Björn Järnsidas hög or Björn Ironside's barrow.[2][3]
