    • @-breakofdawn-
      @-breakofdawn- 3 года назад +2

      Not on purpose; their paths crossed again because they were always fated to be together. Just for a different reason than what they both think at this point. Hvitserk’s nightmares got worse the longer he was separated from Ivar and stopped immediately after being reunited with him. Yes, he was off the drugs for a while when they met again you might argue. But if it were the drugs, then the nightmares should’ve returned when Oleg gave him Opium. They never did though.

  • @DyGouka
    @DyGouka 3 года назад +7

    Hvitserk didnt left Bjorn ?? Hvitserk was lost in his mind, and was seeking for a purpose for a very long time, yes he made a mistake by killing Lagertha (even if he def didnt wanted to) and Bjorn never helped him out (Bjorn had other shits to deal with we can assume), so i think it was legitimate for him to pay Bjorn some respect, since the beginning he is worshiping him, saying it's not that easy to kill him, and the moment he said Ragnar speech for him made me even more emotional ! Even tho he was on the opposite side, Hvitserk just followed his path, and ended up here, he dont hate Bjorn, nor Ubbe, nor Ivar, they are his brothers, as i said, it's his character, he's just lost :)
    Nice reaction btw, i'm going to look out for the other episodes of this great season !

      See my response to the other similar comment about this 🙂 me saying he left Bjorn was more my anger that he joined Ivar and is attacking Kattegat and all the people there including people that helped him out. When Ivar is the one who caused him the most pain and hardship.

    Hvitserk didnt left Bjorn,Bjorn banish him from kattegat because he did what he did,but on the other side,when Lagertha kill Asluag and her sons wanted revenge he was the one who told them that is pointless and then he cant take the same way on Hvitserk who didnt really want to kill her.

    • @TheDragonTheHound
      @TheDragonTheHound  3 года назад

      I know Bjorn banished him, and yes I agree it’s kind of unfair considering Lagertha killed Aslaug, but what I meant by him leaving him is the fact that he went and joined Ivar, who was the person who burned the woman he loved and her family and the cause of him being so mentally disturbed for all that time, leading to him killing Lagertha by accident. So what I don’t forgive him for is the fact that he went and joined Ivar after everything he did and joined him in attacking Kattegat and all the people there, many of which had helped him at his darkest time.

    Björn copied Ragnar’s strategy from Paris for this one: pretend to be dead, then surprise attack. Hvitserk and Ivar are too young to know or remember that strategy. Ivar never called retreat, it’s Oleg who is in command, Ivar’s still at his mercy in this episode, and so is his brother. Btw, I know many people do judge Ivar for his ”crimes”, because they allowed themselves to be manipulated by the monster label that was slapped on him even before he was born, but - he hasn’t done anything the characters favoured by most viewers haven’t done also: Kill people brutally - Ragnar and Lagertha are just 2 examples of favoured characters who both can be very violent. Kill/burn people opposing their regime: Lagertha had people opposing her rounded up and executed after she killed her husband-to-be Kalf. Judith had everyone executed who opposed Alfred. Björn almost burned his own brother, and he didn’t spare him out of mercy, but because he wanted him to die an even worse death. Kill a spouse: Again, Lagertha killed Kalf. Ragnar killed his Chinese mistress for drugs. And their reasons were ambition and addiction only. Ivar hadn’t only been lied to, cheated upon, manipulated and heartbroken, but what Freydis did was basically commit treason against her king. Any other king or queen in that position would’ve declared treason punishable by death also. I’m not saying I endorse any of the violence, but characters shouldn’t be labelled as good or evil based on their actions alone, their motives and reasons must be considered as well. Lagertha’s a woman driven by ambition and hunger for power, Björn’s driven by his need to compete with his youngest brother, Ivar’s driven by pain and the need to be equal and gain other people’s respect. If you make the effort to look deeper before judging each character, you’ll find that none of them is evil, including Ivar. I’m glad that, in the final season, Hirst decided to show people who misunderstood and misjudged Ivar’s character the loving, caring, smart person he’s had to bury deep inside behind his seemingly ruthless facade for most of his life. Everyone’s story arcs were so well written, I enjoyed this show immensely. Btw, did you only do reactions for 6B on YT, or am I just too stupid to find the earlier seasons?
