Hey EVERYONE!!! Please do NOT put spoilers in the comments. ( We are watching these 1 at a time) Any further spoilers will be removed... Hope you understand. We will see you next Sunday for more Vikings! SKOL!!!
This is one of the greatest episodes I have ever watched on tv. Bjorn send off was even better than Ragnar. Best death I have seen on tv. This is also the highest rated episode of the season and rightly so.
Regarding whether or not Ragnar believed in the gods at the end: Ragnar is losing his faith up to and including the point of his surrender to Eckbert. When he is being driven to be put to death and the driver is blind and tells him they will still be another day before they arrive, he thinks it is proof that the Seer's prophecy (he will die when the blind man sees him), and thus the viking beliefs, are false. However, when Eckbert shows up, grieving his impending death....Ragnar, who had previously plotted against Eckbert for revenge, realizes that Eckbert is the "blind man" as in blind to Ragnars true intentions. That is when he is instantly converts back to his Viking beliefs and, in the end, dies as a true Viking.
What a great episode, very emotional 😭 Long live the king 👑 Bjorn the greatest son of Ragnar, Rest In Peace 🙏 Ps, after Vikings, I think you should react to “The Last Kingdom” on Netflix... takes place in the same era as Vikings, during the time of King Alfred and the forming of England. It follows the story of Uhtred Ragnarson (from a different Ragnar Family).. Highly recommend reacting to it, after Vikings ⚔️
Ivar doesnt really have a "plan" ... I think, to me, him being a cripple only strenghtens my theory that he just wants to make a name for himself and to be remembered, as all he has going for him is fear, and destruction. To be a cripple in the year 900ish must have sucked extremely hard, and being in constant pain and breaking bones several times a year....fuck no.
For anyone complaining why the video keeps dissapering and reappearing over and over again, is because of copyright issues so they are forced to do this to avoid copyright claim.
@@whatsnerdypodcast3649 did you watch the last episode? This one was indeed a powerful one and very emotional. But the last one definitely packs a finishing punch with a resonating melancholy trance.
@@apolloaegletes7322 yup it ended on the shore and I feel like the 11th episode ended on the main characters death and grave. Get more like a Viking ending.
the first episode was the strongest in fact the season went downhill afterward really. How the fuck can you explain the end of tbe Rus story with Oleg death? it was garbage really. Almost no point on the Rus storyline other than just showing the gentle side of Ivar. I would have prefer they replaced that Rus storyline with Wessex storyline or more about Paris and Rollo...
@@Velshin1986 you only believe the first is the strongest episode because you're favorite character in this last half is Bjorn....and there's nothing wrong with that. Bjorn is awesome as hell and it was very sad to see his story end 😥. But I like Ivar more because I relate more with Ivar's character. I enjoyed seeing Ivar's character grow and seeing him overcome his struggles. Ivar had to put more effort into life than any of his brothers since he was crippled. And all that hard work and anger helped him become remembered just like his siblings. So, you may not relate to Ivar the way I do...but that's completely fine. I understand not everyone will feel the same as I. But for the fans who place Ivar as their favorite character, the Ladt Act will likely, arguably be the strongest episode....arguably the strongest 🙂 And the storyline of the Rus/King Oleg or of Wessex/King Alfred wasn't really what I was focusing on...although I do believe it was blended well. I didn't care much for Oleg.....I truly did enjoy how Ivar bonded with Prince Igor and they both loved each other and Ivar was always there to comfort Igor. I loved seeing Ivar's more humbled, compassionate, and vulnerable side instead of the ruthless persona we've come to know him for.
I like Ivar this season, he’s not as “psychopath I’m a god” thingy as in season 5.. My favorite characters after Ragnar is Björn, Floki & Ubbe! But Ragnar is seriously the best character of all times in any series/movie! I love his character and imo *no one* could’ve played Ragnar better than Travis Fimmel! 😍 Great reaction you all! Really a great and sad ending! *What an epic ending!!* 😍
Yeah, I feel like Ivar had a slight transformation. He's definitely not a psychopath. And he's showing a slight bit more compassion now, in my opinion...especially toward Prince Igor and Hvitzerk. I don't know if you watched the very last episode yet...but that episode really got me.
Northmen actually stopped using ship burials after a certain point. At least the burning part they later buried them in the ships on land and some not in a ship at all. Also you said Bjorns burial site looked like the Rohirrim burial site in Lord of the rings that is because Tolkien wrote about the Rohirrim as like a mix between vikings and Saxons i believe it was. The Rohirrim their shields and stuff look very viking like. The buildings in Rohan too look very viking like.
Orkney is a Scottish Island that has Viking influence and there is this place called Maeshowe that looks so similar to Bjorn’s burial chamber, when I saw it in the episode it really looked like that place in Orkney.
@@kingwacky184 definitely a place to visit, you can even go inside and see the Viking runes in the wall, there’s many Viking sites to see around, the Odín stone, Skara Brae, skål!
There are a few big Viking burial sites found in Norway / England / Sweden etc....but nothing like this the show chose to show as bjorns death and burial... As he died from old age in real history ... but MAN imagine finding something like that, built ontop of a mountain... damn.
Orkney is a Scottish Island that has Viking influence and there is this place called Maeshowe that looks similar to Bjorn’s burial chamber, it is a burial chamber as well, not on top on the mountain but inside the mountain, when I saw it in the episode it really looked like that place in Orkney.
Ivar is a legend already and ain't no lap dog actually. And hes already got plans in motion to take down Oleg and help his beloved adoptive son Igor. Ivar has calmed down alot and become wiser in 6A. Yes Ivar has insane upper body strength, hes proved that many times. If he gets a hold of you, he could tear u apart. Ivar climbed the mountains wall with the Russ in 6x10, using only his upper body strength, that shows you just how incredibly strong Ivar is not only in the upper body, but also the mind. Ivar and Igor if u havent noticed already are very close and adore each other. They trust each other completely so Ivar isnt manipulating him, he doesn't need to. Olaf did say last season that the christian god will defeat their gods, but when it happens hed be safely in Valhalla. Ubbe did take food and animals with them when they're planning on building a settlement, they need to. And not sure why u thought this battle would last 5 episode lol, everyone knows we need Ivar Vs Alfred before the show ends, plus we need to sort Oleg out and Ivars deal and plan with Dir.
The series is based on History so it is not exactly how it played out and they changed some stuff. For example, Oleg was actually not a Christian and the Kieven Rus were all "Vikings". Ivar was the oldest brother. Bjorn died of old age as King of Sweden. There are a few others like these but i dont really care that it isnt exactly how it all played out, i like this still.
Ivar is the youngest so hes in his late 20s max. Since he was only 15 or 16 when his father died and then his mother. Ivar had that young man/teen hair cut all viking boys have at that age, just like Bjorn did in s1&2. Bjorn would be in his early 40s maybe late 30s before he went to Valhalla. I don't think that king lied to Oleg about Bjorn dying since the episode went back and fourth in time. Ivar is only 2 or 3 years older than Alfred I'm sure. Also Ivar was being smart and realistic not a pussy when retreating, plus the armies of Oleg started to run off first because they were scared. Why u hating on Hvitserk so much for, he has every right to say some of his fathers speech for Bjorn. It was our of respect. Hvitserk has been a mess until he found Ivar again, they're meant to be together. Hvitserk hates and Loves his brother Ivar with equal measure. Plus Brothers fight and fall out all the time, Bjorn was gonna burn Hvitserk alive, he only spared him because he knew Hvitserk was happy to die and would of gone to Valhalla. Hvitserk hasn't done anything to Bjorn really. & Ivar was justified because he was going after his mothers murderer and of course Bjorn stood with her. Bjorn and Ivar reacted the same way to their mothers death/murder.
I mean Hvitserk was looking for his path all way long, went downhill, became drug addict, he was lost, made a mistake by killing Lagertha yes, even tho he wouldnt have done it on purpose, we can assume that the gods tricked him, and yet even after getting kicked out of Kattegat (thanks to Bjorn mercy, which is not even mercy since Hvitserk would embrace his death), he still pay respect to him by saying Ragnar's speech, all along Hvitserk respected Bjorn, he always said he is unkillable etc, even in season 4 episode 17 when they were in Kattegat ... so in the end he is the guy who has the most rights to pay respect to him on his dying breath.
@@DyGouka I agree with you, too! The reason I agreed originally with the statement was because those lines are so epic and "sacred" and should not be revoked.
