Kinda late reply, but I just saw the episode. Didnt Lagertha say something like that to Ragnar in the first season when Ragnar told her to stay home when he went to England. Something like "I have dreamed of it many times, and in my dreams we are always together". That makes it even more powerful.
@@leffelantisshe also said it in Paris when Ragnar simulated his death, she said that she will always love him and she knows she will always be by his side
I'm not sure about a hypothetical funeral Ragnar funeral in Kattegat. Don't forget most of the town resented him for having lied about the Viking settlement destruction in England.
I've watched that end scene so many times now and it still upsets me whenever I watch it again.. :( It's such a beautiful and respectful episode for Lagertha!! ps, I'm so glad to see you have recovered and heal up all good after the op! ;)
Your another person who's reaction i love bro! have you done last kingdom season 3 yet? only one episode is up.. this show and that along with got have been my favorite ever!
@@nEthing4Her YES THE WHOLE CREW... U ARE RIGHT! THEY ALL MADE ME CRY, SITH WAS A GOOD CRY FOR ME BUT THIS ONE RIGHT HERE MAN!! WHEN CARLY NOTICES RAGNAR AND HEARS (IN MY DREAMS WE ARE ALWAYS TOGETHER) HER FACE AND EMOTIONS GOT ME BAD DUDE LOL
@@richiesantiago6074 Bro I was waiting. Carly's a rock and I have only seen a tear roll maybe once before but this episode hurt her like it did all of us. When Carly lost it those last few seconds as she realized Lagertha was settling beside Ragnar I was a crying fool.
This show have had so many moments that i have called the most beautiful moments on TV. But this funeral really do take the cake. That is the most amazing and beautiful thing EVER seen on TV!!! You are not overreacting.
There is an element of raw wonder that made me love this show that has diminished in the later seasons. We get great moments of it, like the two episodes of Ragnar's death, the episode when Heahmund dies, when Lagertha sees Ragnar's death, Ubbe's fight against Frodo and this episode in particular. I think this is one of the best episodes of the show. This is Vikings at its best: being given the ample time to breathe in this other world and live closely with the characters. It's the pairing of this fierce and barbaric traditions that are facilitated through strong familial ties and love that are a really powerfully bonded theme. It's beautiful and it translates beautifully.
Also the Directors on this show NEVER get the credit compared to the Mainstream show like Got.... I think this was the best funeral directed episodes EVER! But hey my beautiful Viking show can forever be a hidden gem but a RELIC in my heart. PS. Next episode is directed by Katherine winnick aka lagatha. Her first ever and it was GREAT too you'll see!
It is beautiful because it show the reality of death, how the northmen valued life and did not fear death but instead welcomed it. This funeral is so you know based on the writings of a man named Ahmad Ibn Fadlan. He is famous for his account of his travels as a member of an embassy of the Abbasid Caliph of Baghdad to the king of the Volga Bulgars, known as his Risala. His account is most notable for providing a detailed description of the Volga Vikings, including an eyewitness account of a ship burial. His text is the only one that in detail describe a viking ship burial. And this funeral is based on those texts.
That final sequence was put together so beautifully ❤ what more can you ask for than to be with the one you love at the end. I may have been chopping onions while watching this as well 😭😢
You really have the best reactions. I watch a lot of reactions and i just love how you react to this show, because you don't skip the best moments, the crying ones, and because you have a sensitivity that makes me cry as well. Love from Julien, France
Carly: "for a while I could not even smile or talk" Me: I've got some good news, you won't need ether one of those abilities for this episode. Carly: *crying*"I can't even talk right now" Me: Yup last three minutes hit you like a damn truck. Agree this is one of the best episodes of Viking and one of the greatest episodes of television ever, music alone would make anyone cry. Got to give it to Katheryn Winnick she did an amzing job the Lagertha, on par with Travis Fimmel as Ragnar. No overreaction here just love for a great character you don't want to see go, and the beauty in witch it was done.
Lagerthas send off was beautiful start to finish, especially the ending scene, I broke down watching the Valkaries guide her way to Valhalla, as she slowly gets younger, finally turning into season 1 Lagertha, where Ragnar waited for her, they finally reunited & went off to Valhalla together. "& In my dreams, we are always, together" Those words made me cry harder, while looking at Ragnars face again finally ..It was done perfectly. . Its made me greedy though, because now I need actual Travis Fimmel to come back for last episode, one scenes in Valhalla where hes at the door embracing all his sons & them all making up. Ending with them all sitting together, feasting with Ragnar & all his old mates too, such as One eye, Torstein, Laif. This is probably wishful thinking but a girl can dream lol, anything similar to that with Travis will be epic.
You did not over react. That was simply the most beautiful funeral in TV history. I was hanging in just fine until someone asked, “do you think that boat was built by Floki?” Which is all it took to start the tears for this tough guy. The sad thing is for you, me, us all is, now there is a standard that will never be matched for beautiful deaths onscreen. And that’s OK. Lagertha deserves this.
This episode was an emotional rollercoaster, and yes, it was beautiful. The cinematography was amazing, the last 15 minutes and the ending of the episode were absolutely magnificent. This show knows how to hit you right in the feels, you are not overreacting at all.
People who DIDN'T cry this hard are either not really interested in the show or have a cold heart. Don't be ashamed you cried like this, we prettymuch all did, but just not on the camera, which you bravely brought to us. Thank you so much for this reaction, your faithful Viking fan from Croatia ❤
It was so beautiful you aren't overreacting seriously and so emotional this episode was, Bjorn speech broke me when he said "I wish I could be there" and the end killed me with Ragnar there, the belong together. I have seen loads of channels reacting to this episode and every time is the same emotion for me and of course the tears. They did an amazing job with this. I can't wait for you to watch the next episode things are getting better and better.
The valkyries carried the Mother/ (Iron) Maiden/ Queen shades of Lagertha to Valhalla, where she and Ragnar was reunited. Everyone forgets she seen him when he died.
no need for apologies thanks for all the awesome reaction/ content focus on your health before anything we are here for you thanks as always my favorite reactor/youtuber keep up the awesome work!!!!! thanks again!!!! and also great f ing editing thanks again for all work you put into these reactions much love and respect!!!
yep you cried like I did, it hit me sooo hard, and it was beautiful. My head was so full of snot afterwards. and you made me bubbleup to.. tthank you !!! hugs for you and Im glad your surgery is over, and you feel better.
This was the biggest goodbye to a character I’ve ever seen in Vikings. It was incredibly touching and well put together. Katheryn Winnick deserves a goodbye like this but I would have really loved to see Travis Fimmel actually film a scene we’re he welcomed her to Valhalla. It’s crazy that every time I watch that ending scene I tear up 💔😓😰
I was w8ing for ur reaction the last from my favorite reactors and as usual u didnt disapointed me! When Bjorn says " I wish i could be there" got me right away and the shot with ragnar i had same reaction as u cryed like a baby! Luv u and its nice to see that u are ok.
I've seen Lagertha's funeral well over 20 times by now, and even at the 20th time when watching someone else's reaction to the funeral, my eyes are filling with tears too. For me, there is not a single movie I know of that has a more emotional and especially more powerful scene than Lagertha's funeral. It's magnificently choreographed, in every way shape and form imaginable.
What an incredible episode! The final scene is one of the greatest scenes I've ever seen in tv/cinema. It made my whole family tear up. I haven't been hit in the feels like that since Avengers Endgame and Ragnar's death. Vikings has always been robbed of awards, praise, and recognition compared to shows such as GOT, so I hope that this episode and scene gets awarded and praised at least. It still pisses me off that Travis Fimmel never won an Emmy for his performance as Ragnar. I've really enjoyed 6a. 6x10 is going to be insane!
SO glad you're back to your beloved self. We love you Carly. And no Carly hon, you certainly were NOT overreacting. We ALL wept. One of - if not THE - most emotional scenes I've ever seen on film - and I'm near 60 and an Army/Navy vet.

Definitely not over reacting, No matter how many times I rewatch it I always break down heavy! Esp. During Bjorn speech, maybe because I relate to losing my mom, who was my strength and my hero. At the end when she lands next to Ragnor was just perfect, so much respect to Michael Hirst for this episode he really out did himself

Lagertha got the best sendoff in the show. This is what Ragnar's funeral would probably have been like if he died in Kattegat.
His funeral was basically the Great Heathen Army obliterating Ælle and Æthelwulf’s armies.
Nope, Ragnars was way cooler not to mention far more meaningful.
Ragnar's funeral was the fury of the Vikings, Lagertha's was the essence of their ways.
That was one of the best sendoff's in any of the TV series
