@@alexman378 I've been saying this exact same thing for years. Vikings never got any recognition because of exactly that...the Emmy academy or whoever the hell they are...continuously sucked GoT's dick year after year, so that other well-deserving shows never got any recognition. Pathetic.

This episode was one of the most emotional episodes in the show. Everything about it was just so good. The visuals, the directing and the music throughout was phenomenal. I loved the sacrifice scene following after with the funeral which gave Lagertha the send off she deserved.
With Ivar, I don’t know how he’ll react. Maybe a bit of both. Angry but also happy that she’s finally dead.

I like these cultural "legends" that appear from time to time. Normal people that seem to have some reputation or seem to be special within kattegat. Lady Death, the seer, the blue guy, etc.

The level of emotion they have been able to generate is testament to the epic quality of writing and acting that Vikings has always delivered, it's a shame they didn't let these guys take over Game of Thrones after the book source material ran out.
This show is so under rated, it should win every award out there.

R.I.P Lagertha the greatest shield maiden of all time/mother of norway and the real queen of kattegat. oh i must say the acting from alexander ludwig was so outstanding he had me in tears when he said but you will always be my mother.

As for crying over fictional characters, you are not alone. Back in 1998 when I saw Star Trek: Nemesis in the theater and the moment Data sacrificed himself for Picard, the guy next to me started balling and didn't stop when the movie ended. People get emotional vested in characters they have watched over time. Another example is John Connor in Terminator Dark Fate. So many people were so pissed off that this character that many people grew up knowing was simply killed off in the first ten minutes of the movie only to be replaced by another character most couldn't give a shit about.
This is why people need this kind of entertainment in their lives to escape reality for a bit of time and when a character that means something to them is taken away from them, it is like losing a friend or loved one. SO don't be ashamed for crying over these characters.

If you're ever looking for a quick show to fill schedule gaps or just watch on your own time, I recommend you check out "Band of Brothers". Its a ten part miniseries based off the 101st Airbone Paratrooper Divison liberating Nazi Occupied Europe. It was produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg so it's like "Saving Private Ryan" but with more character development and (a little) less graphic gore. It's a riveting series that tackles war, the effects of it, the bonds made from war, and so much more. It's often heralded as HBOs crown jewel by many due to its realistic portrayal of World War 2 and because of the interviews they did with surviving members of the 101st before each episode. I was not huge into war movies and history as a whole but since the first time I viewed the series I've rewatched it about a dozen times since then and have delve deep into books, documentaries, etc on WW2 and other historical events. No other film/show has gripped my attention as much as BoB first did when I saw it. It may not be for everyone so if you don't choose to react to it, I respect that. But I believe it's a show everyone needs to watch atleast once. So maybe check it out on your own time if it wouldn't fit on the channel. Top notch acting, practical effects, historical accuracy, and the music for the show is haunting. Definitely a must watch whether on RUclips or alone. It will make you think about a lot.
Here's an anniversary trailer they released for it:

What do you mean "fictional characters"? Fictional events, yes, but I think many of these people actually lived. In fact, I traced my own family tree back to Ragnar Lothbrok years before this series came out. I'm sure you could do it, too. Everyone of Scandinavian and/or British ancestry is descended from him. That's just how it works - nothing special.

So I've kinda lost interest in the show. The lagatha song and end scene I just found annoying I don't feel invested at all show ran too long I guess. So maybe I'll just skip the rest and use these reactions as Cliff notes and save myself the time of watching the episodes
