@@derps0n839 This is overthinking what you said but they are supposed to represent us, we feel we must drive for power and greed in order to attain the simple life. They are both unrealistic characters, they both became what everyone hates. A better show for depicting things is The Last Kingdom, trying to show the real history and the fact that everyone is trying to develop a civilized England, they are just going about it their own way.

The ending is beautiful ,I still remember watching their humble beginning as a farmer ( both Ragnar and Lagertha) in season one and now to see this, it’s really emotional. I love the Norse lore and also I got goosebumps when Bjorn said he would like to secretly meet his mother and his father in Odin’s glittering ✨ shielded hall in Valhalla. Sometimes I wonder how amazing the scene would be to see that majestic hall

  • @shey8984

This scene was just pure perfection. The music was stunning, Bjorns speech was beautiful, and just everything was perfect. Even Ubbe saying that even though she murdered his mother he could still mourn her as a person. I love that they didnt cover her flaws or try to make her perfect. She made mistakes and poor choices at times, but she was still a strong and excellent character. Her falling backwards from queen to her warrior clothes to her farmers clothes was SO stunning and ending next to Ragnar with the sentence of them always being together from the first season... i just cant speak any more highly of this episode. 100/100.

Same... every single time I can't not cry... these characters and their relationships are just like scarily real to me... especially Ragnar, Lagertha, and Bjorn so this scene was just torture for me. I sobbed at all of their deaths and that prob won't ever stop because the development of their relationships and the history and how fierce their love is for each other and how no matter how much time passed or what life threw at them.... they just respected and loved tf out of each other and it's beautiful and an honor to see. Not a weak one in the bunch... they were tough af and they understood each other. I could talk forever about how epic they are!

We will NEVER see anything as beautiful on TV ever again. This is by far the most beautiful thing that have ever been seen on TV. This funeral is also loosely based on a real viking funeral based on the text of Ahmad Ibn Fadlan. That make this so much more emotional.

It is one of the most powerful scene I have ever seen in my life and I've watched a crap ton of tv. So beautifully written and executed and like wow... the visceral reaction I had to it was crazy. Every part of this was epic.

To me this is the greatest send off of a character that I’ve ever seen. I know a lot of people didn’t really like Dany but this is sort of what I wanted for her. At least to see Drogon take her to Essos where the former slaves would have given her a funeral like this. But I’m glad I got to see it happen to Lagertha.

This was one of those perfect episodes of tv that should go down in history. It delivered where others failed: it sent off one of the most loved and respected characters off in grand style, everyone got a moment to shine when saying good bye, and it wasn't cheesy. Oh, and stayed true to the characters.

  • @kevb8864

I honestly cannot think of a TV show scene that has made me more emotional than this. It was perfect, the rage and promise from Bjorn, the fact she was carried away by her maidens. The beauty of her fall, surrounded by valkries but then settling down along side her beloved ragnar. All to the music that knows exactly how you are feeling in each scene.
    Simply Beautiful.

  • @zarablue2020
    @zarablue2020 3 года назад +9

Every single freaking aspect/detail of this scene was cinematic perfection... the music, the emotions and the acting, BJORN'S SPEECH, the beautiful shots, her granddaughter watching, the way all the women were involved in sending her off, the valkyries coming, her becoming young again and looking like she did back in season 1 when she was just a happy farmer with the love of her life and her two kids, 'in my dreams we're always together', her with Ragnar again, the whole sand thing and disappearing together..... just who she was as a character was legendary and this ending was a total love story and it was the love story ending that she deserved and whoever came up with all this.... GENIUS!

And now I see that, like me, the Earth itself isn’t willing to let you go. But the gods call you home. They eagerly await your arrival in Valhalla, as does my father. I wish I could be there at your reunion, secretly in Odin’s glittering, gold, shielded hall surrounded by all the gods. You were already a legend, the greatest shield maiden of all time. A hero to thousands of women. But to me you will always be my mother, who bore me, who raised me, who protected and fought for me. And I swear I will fight for you now. I could not protect you in life, but I can punish your murderer after it. Farewell. I have loved you more than I have loved any other. Farewell, Lagertha. Farewell. I love you. I will miss you. This is probably the most emotional episode in Vikings, either this or 4x15. Ima be honest, I didn’t like Lagertha in 4b and most of season 5 but her arc and send off in season 6 was in my opinion amazing. Just back on a farm defending it from invaders and then just such an emotional funeral.
Alexander Ludwig was phenomenal. One of his best performances in the show, just so so good.

Seeing this episode had it hit me back as Lagertha faded. Sad the way life ends.... its a more profound loss than can ever be put into words. We spend our time trying not to think of our mortality but its always there...coming closer and closer with no escape. We share this ultimate fate showing much of life is suffering and the rewards is for it to end....very sad.

Omg this scene makes me cry like a baby and it's not even because lagertha is dead it's the historical accuracy of the ship, and the way Gyda is such a champ of a willing sacrifice and then yes, the Valkyries, and yes Bjorns speech it doesn't matter how long it's been if I watch this scene I bawl , first time I saw it I messages my best friend sobbing 😭 like this is the worst episode of vikings ever

The charachter of LAGERTHA an inspiration to all the AUDIENCE watching the show, Especially WOMEN . she inspired women to be a shield maiden, The most beautifull thing in the whole series was , Lagertha killed Aslaug , the mother ubbe, still Ubbe was saddened by the death of her. SHE WAS A TRUE LEGEND! ALL HAIL QUEEN LAGERTHA, THE SHIELD MAIDEN!

I feel you. This episode broke my heart. I still can't watch it or see thumbnails of it without starting to cry. I can't even listen to the music anymore. Even when my fiancee started to talk about the funeral scene and the scene with Ragnar - I started to cry. I just can't get over it. I knew she would die, but all in all together it was so beautifully made. So sad. It was like letting my hero go.
