    When people say this will make it takes the effort out of producing don't really put all that much effort in the first place imo. This isn't supposed to finish your songs for you it's a starting point for you to add more to a track when you thought it was going to be another scrapped project.
    A producers job is not only to create a beat or song that sounds nice but to also develop a vibe that people can follow in whatever genre you are making. If being a producer really was no effort at all then the top level would be getting paid scraps or nothing at all.

    Your heart is so much in the right spot but I really think it's tough to add randomization to song structure and still have it make sense. Good dev work tho, does FL/Ableton have an API to interact with their files or is it messy 3rd party stuff you have to do?

    • @DylanTallchief
      @DylanTallchief  3 года назад +23

      Ableton is decently readable (just a gzipped xml file) but I had to reverse engineer the binary file format for flp's. Been doing that for a year now though so I've gotten quite used to working with them but one wrong byte will break the whole file lol.

    I don't know if this is usefull or if we are reaching to a level of laziness that makes a producer into a joke, i myself struggle to make a full track but i don't think using this tool is a good idea if what i want is to improve my poor skills at producing.

    • @lucasluan12
      @lucasluan12 3 года назад +11

      Actually it's not about laziness it's about focus, cuz the most important is the vibe your song creates for the listener than the time we spend on structure. // But yes if you're a new producer and want to learn how to make your structure it's right too. :)

    • @DJSharky
      @DJSharky 3 года назад +7

      I can see it as a good learning tool for beginners to get a feel for structure. But yes,not to be used as a crutch. Any producer/artist should branch out and experiment and find their own "style". Most popular edm songs follow a very simple structure though.

    • @carrotman
      @carrotman 3 года назад +2

      It's useful when starting out to see how things are done.
      I don't look at it as skipping those steps because you can still fully dissect the process.
      Most will probably end up changing things around after the fact.

    • @KitsuGamingVT
      @KitsuGamingVT 2 года назад

      I think you should be able to figure out how it should be arranged on your own without this pretty easily even as a beginner if you can listen to something else of the same genre and use it for reference and have all the loops ready.
      If you can't, fine, I guess just use this.
      But you really shouldn't even try to pretend to be pro if you're using this for real.
      I can't imagine this ever being anything more than a waste of time, but maybe I'm just that high level myself...
      I certainly wouldn't teach anyone new to use this though even for learning purposes.

    This is the dance music equivalent of 'verse - chorus - verse.'
