The internal soundboard is a really cool concept! Interesting to see how it turns out. RUclips only just recommended this video today, so I have some catch-up to do.
Your video series for 2021 Parlour build was really, really good. So glad you are doing another series for 2022! Can you talk a little about your home-made drum sander in the next video, or shoot a short separate video about it? I like the looks of the simple design. I'm looking forward to the rest of this build - ingenious idea re: internal/protected soundboard for a travel guitar. The dishing jig looks like the Saddledome...haha...greetings from Calgary.
Thank you very much! The drum sander... I might do a short separate video on it - it's an ongoing project all on its own. It works well enough, but I'm using a piece of pvc pipe for the drum, and it warps a little with temperature, and starts to wobble. I'm looking for a piece of steel pipe or tubing I can make a new drum out of.
Hey Colin...absolutely love this build...the fact that you make all your own equipment, including a thicknesser (is that a washing machine motor you have on there?) is brilliant...and the adjustable mould...just amazing. The whole concept of this guitar is fantastic...as someone who builds steel bodied resonators with aluminium cones, I have got to admit that what you have achieved with wood is truely eye (and ear) opening. Great job🙂👍✌️ Watched your reverse build a couple of times...just catching up on the full build now👍
Thank you very much! I have to say, I've been watching your build as well. I'd like to build a resonator guitar one day and I found your work inspiring! The guitar you've made from raw metal is amazing!
Great video, Colin - really slick. Love the mould design - I have an adjustable one too, but yours is much more elegant. I'm really looking forward to the next videos in this build, you have some great ideas there!
I’d love to see a video on your drum sander, I built one recently, it’s bulky and doesn’t work nearly as well as I would like. I’m in the market for a new build.
I am looking forward to this build. I am also interested in how your new adjustable form works. If you like it or plan to improve on it. I have been thinking of making something similar due to limited shop space.
The form worked all-right for this build. However, because of the form's width, the thin profile of the guitar, and the extreme curvature of the guitar top, I couldn't use the form when I sanded the sides, as you'll see in the next video. That's a big part of the form's purpose in my opinion - to support the sides when sanding the top and back profile. I think the form will work better for the milder domed profile usually seen on flat-top guitars. I also built this form to accommodate anything from a tenor ukelele to a full size jazz archtop... It may be the way to go is to have two or three adjustable forms, for narrower ranges of guitar sizes. I'm going to keep using it for now, improving it as I go.
Sorry I only have rough plans I put together for myself - they are not complete. If you like I can message you something with the shape and dimensions of the guitar.
Best guitar mold I ever seen
First I've heard of you! I'm in for the build - your guitar is crazy-cool!
Very interesting! Really looking forward to watching your build.

That form mold is awesome.
Cool design idea! I also like your mold, what a great idea!
Thank you very much!

Thank you Chris!
Very unique design. Gotta stay tuned in to see how it sounds. Also very cool body mold I may try that out as much as I hate making molds.
Man… I loved your build last year, and I love this one. Really cool, and really well done.
Thanks!
I have to build this sander .. do you have a build pics?
I don't... I'm thinking of doing a video on it and some of my other jigs. It'll take some time to get it done though.

Hi! How can i get the plan this model? You will sell?
