  • Stop getting overcharged for car care -pattersoncarca...
    The Dodge Neon is one car that is not very missed in the car community. In fact many believe the newer generation Dodge Dart should have been a new version of the Neon. One Neon though, the SRT4 was missed greatly and are still loved by many. The SRT4 is a great representation of a weird time in the automotive world when the American car brands tried to capture the Japanese Import feel with a 4 cylinder turbo engine. It is by no means a slow car, and was a ton of fun to drive. Huge thanks to Mod It All Garage for traveling all the way to ATL! Thanks for watching!

    I've got a Dodge Caliber SRT4 and I have so much respect for these SRT4s. Unfortunately, the Caliber SRT4 is not very well covered and mostly unknown by a large portion of the car community. When I roll up to meets, I send people away in ambulances from neck injuries. The power that the Caliber can generate with some light modding and a tune is something that takes a lot of people by surprise. Always happy to see the SRT4s getting coverage, whether it's the Neon or the Caliber.

    I owned one of these and it was an ACR edition. Absolutely awesome car and a blast to drive! Tons of torque right out of the box and the stock exhaust was one of the best stock sounds I’ve ever heard. Transmission was awful, but other than that no complaints.

    I have a lot of respect for people who keep their car since day one. I'm on 10 years with my 04 GTO and I'm not letting it go any time soon. Props for taking care of that pufferfish. I told my father should I hit the lottery, I'm either buying him a pufferfish or I'm turboing his 05 Neon SXT since he had his motor replaced a little over a year ago. Maybe a commemorative pufferfish? Hmmm🤔

I remember sitting in auto body class one day and a guy brought one in. I had no clue what it was at first but once I saw it I was soooo in love. Thanks for showing some love for the SRT-4 people man. Yes it is a Neon but Im proud to say that. My first car was a Neon and it saved my friends and mine life in a really bad wreck back in the day. My next car was a Neon and I built it up to be a sleeper and it was known in town as the Honda killer. I now own two SRT-4s and one is a all stock Commemorative Edition with only a 112k on it. If you are interested in driving a stock one that doesn't rattle and vibrate your fillings out hit me up 😀

    Yes!!!!! I’ve been waiting years for this one, that’s awesome David! My goal is for you to someday get behind the wheel of my “lightly modified” PT Cruiser GT, which shares the SRT4 motor. It’s a hell of a fun car, when it’s done right it can be super clean too. PTs have a rotten stereotype, I’d love to see what you think of her in person.

      Mod It All Garage what setup are you going with? A few years back I bought my 3rd srt, and decided to see how quick I could make it for the least amount of money. For less than $1k it ripped , there's a video on my channel of it smashing a bolt on coyote. Catless downpipe, diablo tuner, 3 bar sensors , and wideband with Dusters big injector/ e85 base tune package. Car ripped, would put down ~310whp ~410tq. Still had stock intercooler and fuel pump too.

      @Supreme_Pribs 6 лет назад +1

      Mike_MANIC_R55 except if you adjust your wga too high, or install a occ and it fills it too much, or if you make over 300whp the axles will start to fail, or if you go with a tune off a diablosport you'll be too lean for most situations, or if you push over 350tq your clutch will fail, or all the boost leaks that happens if you don't zip tie one... Lmfao I loved my srt4 miss the sound of it but they're picky as hell some time

    • @MotoMedicine904
      @MotoMedicine904 6 лет назад +1

      EvoX Pribs I didn't experience any of that on both my stock turbo SRT4's. Both were FBO and Diablo tunes. Of course it'll run lean of you run a tune designed almost 14 years ago. Its a base map for a car with a healthy fuel system. You can easily adjust WOT fuel by rpm with it as long as you have an AFR gauge. Which you should have on this car if you plan on tuning the ECU. My stock clutch took a good beating but started to slip after about 30k miles of 295whp 325tq. I upgraded to a CM 6 puck and it never slipped while I owned it. Never had a 3rd gear issue on any of mine either. Usually those failures were from people running the WOT Shift Boxes and strong arming the shit out of the gear lever. I also dumped the OEM ATF for the trans and used Mobil 1 Euro formula. Shifting was butter smooth.

    • @Supreme_Pribs

      Mike_MANIC_R55 yeah I never had the 3rd gear issues with mine either but fuck was it a touchy thing lol

  • @C_Blurr
    @C_Blurr 6 лет назад

    They have a bad rep but if you take care of them they're an absolute blast. My 2005 Neon SRT-4 has the Mopar Stage 3 upgrade (bigger turbo), downpipe, injectors, fuel pump and a solid tune and it has never left me stranded. Kept the stock airbox on for a sleeper look too. The nice thing is you don't see many of them on the road anymore, but when you do it's pretty cool. Puts a smile on my face everytime I get into the throttle.

    I have a 2005 SRT 4 . It has 64,000 miles on it . The sift linkage had to be replaced . I had to have the engine mounts replaced. My main complaint about this car is road and exhaust noise on the highway. I have to have use ear plugs so dampen the noise . I had the thermostat replaced on it . It is a Daimler Chrysler car . The tires are Michelin Pilot . The original tires were horrible . I do not race the car or abuse the power . I almost bought a Mustang GT at the time for about 5,000 more that the SRT 4 .
