@crxmassive Yeah I'll never get rid of mine. I have to much time and money into already and have only had it for a couple of years and in the process of spending a lot more lol so I don't blame you for wanting to hold on to it
I remember years ago I to used to kick myself in the ass for selling but you get over it after a while. I do miss being the underdog but with the other platforms out there, it's easy to get persuaded into something different
@ElRayDelRio yeah theirs other platforms i would like to get into but if i do I'll still keep the neon I've just got to much time and money to let it go lol
@DailyDrivenRaceCar I felt that. I had maybe 15k into mine not including the purchase for 9k back in 2010 and in the end, I sold it for a third of that & that was hard to handle! It went to a good home but all the money I sank in and the car was never consistent enough to daily drive and enjoy it. It sat for half it's lifetime with me. I'm not going to lie, it's best or peak moments in my ownership was when it was on a modified Mopar Stage 3 kit. That was a very fun car that didn't break the bank but when I began chasing big power, if it wasn't one thing or the other it began to be a headache pulling the motor, trans, etc with broken inputs, or burnt valves, cracked ringlands, lifting heads, etc. Built a few motors and helped big turbo a handful of the locals when I had my shop, the neon, and the motivation lol 😆. Anyways, keep it up not trying to bash these cars. I still would buy a neon or caliber srt4 and do basic upgrades and keep it simple. I have a bunch of parts I technically could put together a Mopar Stage 3 build...
Great job bro I’m about to have mine re-tuned after putting a new head on because the exhaust valve burned a hole in it on my email tune from mituning… she’s a little lean under full boost at 25psi on a BWS but it’s already c7 corvette fast and that’s before the new head so I’m excited to tune it and see where it is running safe and fast! Great video brother!
Very nice and I had an 03 back in 2014 and it’s a fun car to drive and a cheap car to build and I mean cheap compared to building a Subaru but I also have an S650 mustang that they already released a whipple for but I’ve had an evo, Rsx type s, Acura Tl type s and other cars so it’s fun to build. Some people hate on the srt 4 but they are fun cars to drive man great job.
Yeah they are very fun cars and unfortunately very under appreciated but that's part of the fun of owning one is seeing the face of ppl that get beat by a neon lol
@@DailyDrivenRaceCar exactly and yours is faster than most on the road so they won’t even expect it. I don’t get a lot of people that try me in the STI but I have had a hellcat and a ZL1 and I pulled in both of those car and that was on my 500whp build now I’m on 40 psi and fully built with an 8500 rpm redline so I’m waiting to run into a redeye. I almost bought another srt 4 last year for a daily but It sold.
SRT4's are fun but get very expensive to maintain when you start building them to go real fast I'd like to get another one and just keep it mostly stock
bro where you from? IM in SoCal ive got a motor built for about 350 horse... BWS, E85, 100cc Fuel pump, injectors, stage 2 head. Swapped into 97 neon. BUT I JUST CANT GET IT TO WORK. Ive been working on it for 3 years now. And I'm losing hope
Around 4-4200 it’s like it’s hitting a rev limiter. No cel on. When you first start car it will rev to redline no issues then 20-30 seconds later it hits the 4k mark and doesn’t want to go past, sometimes it will but it breaks up bad rest of rpm. Like it pulled all the timing out. Not fuel issues as I’ve watched the psi, changed cam magnet and sensor with oem. Timing is on point. Still tdc
@Shawn-p1b7k I had a similar issue when I first got my car tried changed out the same sensors you did until I finally said the hell with it and changed out the crank sensor even though it didn't have a code for it and it solved my problem so give that a try
@@DailyDrivenRaceCarnothing good lol. Just normal street tires was a 13.34 at 124mph last year on a Precision 5858. Spinning really bad through the gears. I have a set of slicks now and swapped to a S257 on 29psi
@SRTSkittle with those slicks you'll have no problem getting it done especially with that turbo with that mich boost just going to take a little seat time
@DragpackRacing appreciate it bro. It's a attention grabbing tactic for youtube but out of curiosity who is the person you think has the quickest daily driven srt4?
Man, seeing stories like this makes me want to hold on to mine for as long as I can. It's been 12 years so far.

Love the car! keep up the good work! 👍
I appreciate it! Absolutely, especially since theirs always work to be done on a SRT4 lol
Been awesome watching your progress over years since we became friends
Mr. 8 second Neon! Good job on the 8s brother!
@jerraddailmurdersrt4661 appreciate it man couldn't have done it without you
Nice meng, them freaking 9's keep evading me lol
Appreciate it man! You got a badass car you'll get that 9 soon!
Very good 👍
Appreciate it!

Unfortunately I'm all the way in North Carolina bro. What's the issue your having?
So can’t wait to get my issue figured out. Been 2 months and still haven’t gotten it. I have built motor big turbo on E85.

@Shawn-p1b7k what's your spark plug gap set at? Any check engine codes on?
Gap is .26 brand new 4306 plugs. No codes at all. It will break up even parked and driving.

Im trying to run a high 10 this month on my S257 with a stock bottom end
I'm sure you'll get it done. whats the fastest you've been so far?

Love the vid man how long did it take you to go from 14s to a 9 sec pass?
Appreciate it man! Took 4 years from the time I came into possession of this car to the time I ran my first 9sec pass
