really wanna see you guys take on a 2022-24 Lexus is350 or 500 the 2gr engine is a widely used platform and there are plenty of mods out there for styling, ride height and performance.....
Awesome video guys! Thats the motivation i needed to get mine running again. Ive owned my srt-4 for 20 years but it started misfiring 2 years ago and life happens and its just been sitting on my garage.l since. Thanks for the awesome video!
That intake is missing the elbow to put the filter in the fenderwell. That exhaust is not stock but similar to factory. They did not come with a muffler from factory. The catback had two bullet resonators and the rear section had a nice Y. I owned an electric blue 04 from new. Good car for the time and it made great noises.
I miss my SRT4. They didn't come with mufflers from factory, they had 2 resonators which got a lot of people in trouble when getting pulled over. Cops were always giving tickets for "no mufflers" 😂
Neon SRT-4, always liked these, one of the first "Fast" FWD car. I have seen some of these make HUGE power and run really good, so props to Throtl for saving another modern day Classic👍
As a previous SRT4 owner i enjoy seeing content creators using this car i have yet to see a youtuber do this car until now. Guys are making me want to get one again had one built pushing 450hp silver 03 she sounded so good
Back in day I wanted to test drive that car but the dealership didn’t want my business, I was only 26 years old but I had a great job and money to spend. Soooo… I went and bought a WRX, drove back to Dodge, found the salesman and told him he could’ve made a sale then I flipped him off and left
Man, I had the same type of experience in 2005 with an Evo. Wouldn't let me test drive it. Went down the street, drove a fresh trade in WRX, and bought it at lunchtime. Drove back and did flybys with the bird for em!! Haha.
I was working at Blockbuster Video in my senior year of high school and I bought a silver 03 for my very first car. I got another black 05 a couple years later and she’s still in my garage to this day. Man, blasting up the 15 freeway north to Midnight Mayhem at Las Vegas Motor Speedway… what a time. Thanks for the great memories and thanks for saving a modern day classic.
Yes! I bought one in 2004. So much fun!!! Unrefined, loud, ridiculous, wheel spinning fun. Every time you drive one it encourages hooliganism. Never going to impress anyone or get you cars & coffee respect but they were awesome
I love the neon you guys brought back from the dead , that what I’m talking about you guys need to do more stuff like this , ya’ll have so much potential, next car you guys should do , i think should be an suv , that you see alot of on the road , love you guys , keep up the good work, and have a great holidays
Some folks on here are in their 20s and 30s. These cars dropped when i was in my mid 20s, and after careful consideration, I chose an ACR for my first brand new car. No regrets. Super reliable. Want to see something awesome? Watch the factory srt4 commercial from 2003/2004.Youll know when you find it-its more like a mini movie- Nobody did it like dodge.....
I miss mine. I had an 04 Electric Blue. Replaced the engine twice. Last engine threw a rod. I absolutely loved the car, but it was a constant headache. I’d take all those headaches again just to have one again, they are so fun to drive, and the sound of them is by far the best part
My first car was an ‘03 Neon in 2006. Wasn’t an SRT, but I loved those as well. My buddy had a turbo PT cruiser (same engine as SRT) that he modded and that thing was a rocket ship.
Had 6 over the years. Very fun cars and easy to work on. Stout power train. Never had major issues with any of them. (2 were wrecked that I fixed) Great job bringing that flame red back to life. Thank you for getting rid of the aftermarket lights!
Not gonna lie...I always wanted one.......they don't make cars like they used to....... NEXT...CHEVY COBALT 2.0 T...... AND DO A TRACK BATTLE WITH BOTH
I am so glad you guys found this car. The SRT-4 Neon does not get enough love that this car turned out great. I really hope more of these cars are found and preserved. I definitely would not mind owning one.
I have always loved these cars! I remember test driving one in 2004! I think they came out in 03 and I wanted one but just didn't have the money at the time. Y'all really made this car look good and I love the factory wheels, so keeping those really put the cherry on top, in my opinion. If I ever come across a clean SRT4, I'm buying it!
Videos like this makes me miss mine. I had an ‘04, same color too. One of the best cars I ever had. Gave me no mechanical problems whatsoever. Great car!..
I LOVED the OEM Look you guys went for. Now its a Prime example of what the SRT-4 Was back in 03-05 -----These would/Should be looked into----- (I was the SRT-4 Mechanic in my Friend group) -Scrap that ebay magaflow exhaust, get a 3" (MPX is good), Car never came with a muffler stock -4:36 - Delete all those solonoids go big turbo setup (AGP Turbo CW 5457E "AGP 50 Trim" was my go-to) -10.0 AFR is not Good. its extremely rich and you should probably have a tuner take a look and get you on e85 anyway. -You will probably need Transmission work, 3rd gear extender (3rd gear fork, throw out bearing, clutch while you're in there, Royal Purple Synchromax ) -Cut the balance shaft chain -Add a Catch Can, 8.1:1 puked up quite a bit of oil into the intercooler. -Also, Zip-Tie EVERY vacuum line on the car. boost ALWAYS Blows them off Engines good for 400-450 wheel pretty safely, Push into 500wheel should be alright for a while. Owned mine for 10 years, and it Never broke down once. 400hp, drove hard EVERY time I drove it. The only real issue I had was 3rd Syncro. My friends also snapped Axles a couple times at the drag strip. I unfortunately was forced to sell it because of a home purchase and it was starting to rust the rear wheel wells which is EXTREMELY Common. 800HP MKV Supra now, but I miss the SRT-4 constantly. it was my first "Performance/Turbo" Vehicle.
SRT4 Neon Hell Yeah!!!! Love these cars. I remember back in the day all you had to do was literally wax it to make more power. One of the best cars Dodge ever made. The transmission however the only drawback. I've heard a few of these with aftermarket cams and they sound rowdy as hell, also they wake the engine up quite a bit. I am looking forward to your progression on this build in added more power.
Brought some good memories back. I had a few buddies that had the Srt4 neon and caliber. I had the cobalt ss/sc and we had fun times cruising, racing, and hanging out.
Modern Performance in Houston has the best support for these cars. Kept my silver 03 on the road through 338k miles, and my 08 Caliber srt4 through 220k.
I had a customer that bought one of these that had a bigger turbo installed. Every single vacuum line was routed incorrectly, the alternator wouldn’t put out proper voltage above 1500rpm, the ‘boost controller’ was from playskool, and a whole slew of other issues. We had the car at the shop for almost 3 months off and on. Once it was finally working properly and I drove it I could tell the turbo or the tune or both were just wrong because the moment the manifold pressure went positive the boost was dumped out. And it was like you’re driving an NA Neon. We recommended him a couple reputable tuner shops in the area to get it properly tuned and setup for the turbo or get a more appropriate sized turbo installed. I saw him driving it around after that but I don’t know if it was ever corrected. They’re decent little cars.
What a beauty! I had a black 2005 SRT-4, pretty stock, only aftermarket was intake, and purple colored Megan coilovers. I even lived in it for a couple of months due to some financial difficulties back then. I weighed about 300lbs at the time and sleeping in it was not fun lol but I definitely enjoyed that car. And of course, 3rd gear went out at some point lol
I got 5 of these units to this day!! Been building this car since 2004 when I was a senior in high school. It was definitely the baddest car in the school parking lot got it in April graduated in May… never since 2004 haven’t owned one of these!! Great content lots of parts still available for these things need to do a solid bws3 setup or an agp setup with a built engine!! 5-600 hp all day with very minimal issues. Trans parts are the hardest to come by!! Realtune performance or liberty will get you what you need though!! Definitely need to save more of these cars!! Subscribed and ready for more content!! 👏🏻
Car came out so clean! better looking in its stock form. Seeing them tackle so many builds now I wanna see throtl do a 70s car, maybe like a old 70s celica would be cool!
Had the second one in St.Louis back in 03. Less horsepower, no lsd, and I remember embarrassing my first C4. Mine was flame red as well. My first mods were an obnoxious bov, and a motor mount. Thanks for the nostalgia trip.
I had to watch the whole video. This is one of my favorite cars of the 2000s. I used to be a Dodge tech (fresh out of school) when these came out brand new. I wanted to test drive one, but the dealership manager wouldn't let me unless I was serious about buying one. I was too young and broke then, but i had a tuned 1997 Eclipse GST, which scratched my itch 😂
I had an Electric Blue '04. Other than some minor engine mods, it was basically stock and still one of the rowdiest cars I ever drove. Being that it was my daily driver, their wasn't a day where someone wasn't trying to race me. Fun car for sure!
Really enjoyed this video, I was locked in the whole way through. I remember how bad I wanted one of these for my first car. Maybe I'll have to get one now....
grew up learning to drive in 80s/90s Shelby Daytona ... srt4 has been a favorite of mine for years... highly underrated vehicle from dodge... fire out of the box
SRT4 was my dream car in high school. Remember I had a Super Street poster of a gray one up on my door that I drooled over every day, lol. Only ever got to test drive one in a parking lot, but couldn't afford it new. Settled for a non turbo Mazda 3. Still love the bruteness and the burble and crackle of the SRT 4 though.
That one looks like the 2005 ACR model that I had, except the ACR came with Bridgestone rims, different seats and had a 1 inch lower ride height than regular SRT-4's. I ordered it when I was a Chrysler technician. I immediately installed the Mopar Performance stage 3 turbo kit. I slowly added modifications to the car and raced it in NOPI and SCCA events until I sold it in 2010 when my twins were born. Using 110 octane racing fuel with the high octane mode that came with the stage 3 kit, it would output a tad over 350 at the wheels. These cars respond extremely well to tuning. Getting over 400 horsepower wasn't too difficult because the SRT 2.4 can handle a really high boost.
My old roommate had one and we had a couple other buddy’s with srt4’s, one of em was an ACR and they’re nasty. So much fun. MAP sensor and 3 bar with a tune and that thing will shoot flames. My roommate had a pop tune on his and it sounded amazing. Always loved driving that car and just cruising in it
My favorite car!! i built mine from the ground up and got T Boned dodging a stop sighn runner i miss it everyday wish i could afford another! This video brings me back thanks guys!!
I had a 2004 srt 4 stage 2 that thing was so fun !It had a ton of problems ..LOL the throttle would stick ..it brought some good memories lots of racing !I bought it from an Irish guy who I couldn’t fully understand ,it was blacked out !Awesome car !
Oh this takes me back!... I bought one of these the second year they came out. I remember buying an exhaust, rims, springs and a blow off valve before the car was even delivered. I ended up flipping it down a steep hill/cliff drifting while intoxicated😅... Dumb stuff. And yes these things sounded awesome and made a solid 240hp, 260 torque and weighed under 3000lbs! Ran a quarter in the high 13's. They came stock with over 1 atmosphere of boost. They also offered a stage 3 performance kit from the factory that bumped it up to well over 300hp and close to 400 torque. It was a seriously fast car for the time. Solid motors you could hammer on all day and handled power upgrades with ease. If they made it rear or 4wheel drive, and 2 door it would have gone from cool to legendary.

@@SrtRacerBoy Yeah you're right, its been a long time since i had mine
Finally!!! Some SRT-4 content. Been asking for over a year now!:) good to see and great transformation like always! I own a fully built 2009 Dodge Caliber SRT-4. So I love these things! ❤️
Love the Caliber.
Never seen Ricky more happy fixing a car... love it
Memory lane. These cars were smashing the street race scene back in the day. Always loved the sound.
Love this episode my first car was a Neon i put 18" rims on mine, a bit of engine mods, exhaust and banging sound system 2x12" subs.
Thank you guys for bringing back so much memories.
You guys are the best.🔥
Underrated and under appreciated car! These cars are built stout from the factory.
Man nNeons were so simple, yet that STR4 line is still gorgeous even today. Not much cars can compete with its elegance.
most cars had far more elegance, its looks so like a standard neon most people didn't realize is was an srt4
I like them but wouldn’t at all describe them as elegant.
I’m kinda happy to see this car on the channel ❤ These pos get so much hate but are badass cars even when they came out. Idk what all the hate is about ! SRT4’s are underrated asf . Excited to see what you guys do with this build
Was super happy to see this!! SRT-4 was the first fun car that I had when I was younger. Owned 2 of them. Definitely a fast, fun lil car for the price. They way more expensive today for sure. Always will be special to me!
Do a caliber srt super slept on but such a fun daily
really wanna see you guys take on a 2022-24 Lexus is350 or 500 the 2gr engine is a widely used platform and there are plenty of mods out there for styling, ride height and performance.....
Id LOVE to see that. I own a 21 IS350. Not much out there for performance on the 21+ 350 but exterior wise yes.
I was about to write exactly that! No "muffler" from factory but bigger resonators.
The electric blue and the orange were my favorite colors!
I don’t think so the dealerships just tired of having jerk offs driving and beating on their cars all day long.
Man, I had the same type of experience in 2005 with an Evo. Wouldn't let me test drive it. Went down the street, drove a fresh trade in WRX, and bought it at lunchtime. Drove back and did flybys with the bird for em!! Haha.
This is the way.
You were probably annoying
@DefaultKnight what, like you're trying to be now?
I was working at Blockbuster Video in my senior year of high school and I bought a silver 03 for my very first car. I got another black 05 a couple years later and she’s still in my garage to this day. Man, blasting up the 15 freeway north to Midnight Mayhem at Las Vegas Motor Speedway… what a time. Thanks for the great memories and thanks for saving a modern day classic.
Yes! I bought one in 2004. So much fun!!! Unrefined, loud, ridiculous, wheel spinning fun. Every time you drive one it encourages hooliganism. Never going to impress anyone or get you cars & coffee respect but they were awesome
sadly those days ended in the 2000's, 90's and 2000's cars were fucking awesome.
I love the neon you guys brought back from the dead , that what I’m talking about you guys need to do more stuff like this , ya’ll have so much potential, next car you guys should do , i think should be an suv , that you see alot of on the road , love you guys , keep up the good work, and have a great holidays
Y’all went with my build suggestion. Let’s freaking go!!!!
You guys should buy the father of the Neon SRT-4, an 80's Omni GLH Turbo. Badass little hotrods, those.
I miss mine. I had an 04 Electric Blue. Replaced the engine twice. Last engine threw a rod. I absolutely loved the car, but it was a constant headache. I’d take all those headaches again just to have one again, they are so fun to drive, and the sound of them is by far the best part
Thank god I've been waiting for an SRT4 to be done on here!!! Thank you guys! 👍
Do the awd conversation lol 😂
@@SilverSRT4please! lol!
My first car was an ‘03 Neon in 2006. Wasn’t an SRT, but I loved those as well. My buddy had a turbo PT cruiser (same engine as SRT) that he modded and that thing was a rocket ship.
I absolutely love SRT-4s. sick video guys
AND DO A TRACK BATTLE WITH BOTH
Memories!!! Those SRT-4s ARE SO FUN TO DRIVE 🥺🥺☹️☹️😖😖😖
Never clicked so fast. I love these cars
Videos like this makes me miss mine. I had an ‘04, same color too. One of the best cars I ever had. Gave me no mechanical problems whatsoever. Great car!..
I LOVED the OEM Look you guys went for. Now its a Prime example of what the SRT-4 Was back in 03-05
-----These would/Should be looked into-----
(I was the SRT-4 Mechanic in my Friend group)
-Scrap that ebay magaflow exhaust, get a 3" (MPX is good), Car never came with a muffler stock
-4:36 - Delete all those solonoids go big turbo setup (AGP Turbo CW 5457E "AGP 50 Trim" was my go-to)
-10.0 AFR is not Good. its extremely rich and you should probably have a tuner take a look and get you on e85 anyway.
-You will probably need Transmission work, 3rd gear extender (3rd gear fork, throw out bearing, clutch while you're in there, Royal Purple Synchromax )
-Cut the balance shaft chain
-Add a Catch Can, 8.1:1 puked up quite a bit of oil into the intercooler.
-Also, Zip-Tie EVERY vacuum line on the car. boost ALWAYS Blows them off
Engines good for 400-450 wheel pretty safely, Push into 500wheel should be alright for a while.
800HP MKV Supra now, but I miss the SRT-4 constantly. it was my first "Performance/Turbo" Vehicle.
the dodge neon srt-4 is one of my favorite cars im happy u guys fixed this car
nice to see these being worked on again, i still have a 05 in my garage with big turbo, absolutely love the car! (rust issues just killers)
Makes me want to see a Caliber SRT on the channel, always appreciated those more than the Neon but either way looking good
SRT4 Neon Hell Yeah!!!!
Man I want to see this get fully built. I’m a mopar guy and it’s dope that your team has built some clean dodge
Sick job guys! Brings back alot of memories as this was the first NEW car I ever bought 2004 SRT-4 Red. Such a fun car.
Glad to see a good SRT-4 neon getting some love.
I had 2 of these back in the day. Awesome to see one cleaned up and brought back to life. What a transformation for the little neon.
Mad respect for being able to bring to life an old car with that fuel line, among so many other restoration things you did. Great video!
Ricky is the best part of the entire channel
Most underappreciated car! Ive owned 3, built my ACR srt4 to 600whp. They were indestructible. Get the Stock ACR BBS wheels for it!
Ive had my 04 for 20 years. Its a amazing car. You could buy one new for 20k. It was designed by young engineers and they did it right.
Ricky’s energy is unmatched love that guy. So funny and talented great entertainment
What an amazing episode! Thank you so much, guys! I love the way it turned out!
I had an Electric Blue '04. Other than some minor engine mods, it was basically stock and still one of the rowdiest cars I ever drove. Being that it was my daily driver, their wasn't a day where someone wasn't trying to race me. Fun car for sure!
one of the COOLEST budget meat missiles ever made. dodge knocked it out of the park with these. my fav domestic turbocharged car to date.
I just bought a 04 with 54k miles, this is my 3rd one. No one understands these cars until they drive them and you get hooked.
Finally something diffrent! Love it
Ricky's passion for cars is undeniable, another great video!
Really enjoyed this video, I was locked in the whole way through. I remember how bad I wanted one of these for my first car. Maybe I'll have to get one now....
Always loved this car
grew up learning to drive in 80s/90s Shelby Daytona ... srt4 has been a favorite of mine for years... highly underrated vehicle from dodge... fire out of the box
Love the videos man keep it up would love to finally get mine rebuilt 😭😂🙏🙏
Yall should do my 3g spyder
Man I wanted one of these so bad in high school. That exhaust sound will always have a place in my heart
Best video you guys have put up in a long time. Getting back to the fun of fixing and driving cars
I LOVE these 1 episode smaller builds. LOVE THEM!! It motivates the average car guy big time. KEEP IT UP!!!
Looks great. I loved these when they came out, and still love them today.
Midnight club Vibes!!!
My old roommate had one and we had a couple other buddy’s with srt4’s, one of em was an ACR and they’re nasty. So much fun. MAP sensor and 3 bar with a tune and that thing will shoot flames. My roommate had a pop tune on his and it sounded amazing. Always loved driving that car and just cruising in it
Dammmm 🔥🔥🔥🔥 i love this garage awsome work
My favorite car!! i built mine from the ground up and got T Boned dodging a stop sighn runner i miss it everyday wish i could afford another!
