- Like I said in my previous video, I had to jump on the love and hate bandwagon! I've never done a video like this before and thought it'd be a cool first time experience, especially with this car.
So, here it is! The 5 things I love and hate about my Dodge Neon SRT-4!

Something satisfying in knowing I am not the only one who misses the manual windows
you can improve the turning radius with the kunckles, strut tower braces, or fender braces. They all improve handling so its a win-win.

Most definitely agree that the Number 1 thing about the SRT4 is the looks! Will always fit in henceforth because of its styling. As for the Clear Coat issue you are correct. I had a 2002 Neon ES in the Sunburst/Burnt Orange color and if it wasn't for me and the previous owner bi-annually applying wax and carnuba polish the clearcoat and overall pop of the paint would have died. NOTE: all owners of cars (regardless of the make/model) take time to apply hand waxing/polish/ceramic coating to your vehicles to protect the paint
Nice srt, I don't think the turning radius is that bad(my other daily was a 09 Mercury milan, THAT was like driving a bus). The 04-05 SRT4s had LSD so lost like 6° in turning. My main loves/hates with the 05 I got a few weeks ago is
1- 3rd gear syncro, shift forks etc.these transmission parts weren't strong enough for the car.
2- the pcm is picky with electronics like the crank/cam sensors and spark plugs
3- I hate how the stock exhaust necked down to 2.25" at the bottom of the downpipe for some reason
4- sunroof prone to leaking
5- the stock boost gauges IS not good at all
But over all I'm loving this car, it makes me smile each time I drive it, feel like a kid again when I go for spirited drives and for a 15 year old car, these things will STILL blow the doors off many cars! Mine is still stock, haven't been gapped, yet lol
Paint from the majority of manufacturers back in that era 2000-2011ish was crap, Nissan especially- Honda - and most American brands… the ROOF’s are the worst, then hood and trunk (anything facing up towards the sun)
Never really cared for these cars but always been curious about ‘clean’ ones, like they are intriguing to me for some reason… Your car is super clean man, I’d drive it 😜

Honestly the engine has been super reliable. The main issue I've had is the electrical and common sensor failures
That vibration rattle is your harmonic balancer. Change it out, same thing happened to mine. If you’re still having the issue.
What kind of spliter and rods do u have and how much do they cost and where to get it...
Yes, the turning radius is ridiculously awful for a small car. It feels similar to my Ram 2500 when trying to swing into a parking spot.

What's a matter with a dodge neon nothing is wrong hey your lucky to have one I would love to have one of those I use to have a 01 still looking for one. As soon as I find one I'm going to fix one up again
This motor set the land speed record for so long! I thinks its Honda now.
Russ Deane still has the Class F/PS record in the SRT4. Bonneville fastest 4 cylinder production vehicle at 226mph.
Turning these cars is fun lol. I had 205 wide tires and it sucked, went 225 wide and you can not turn at all
225 is what a run currently and they're even slightly stretched 😅 Shew, it's an act of congress to pull a u-turn sometimes
i run 235 on a 17x9.5 no issues whatsoever turning
@@7Logik Coming from both RWD vehicles such as a Wrangler and Miata with the shortest wheelbase, this cars turning radius is horrendous. You can't u-turn these cars without needing two lanes.

@@7Logik Yea, it's not horrible in the aspect it makes the car undriveable, but it's the only thing I could really think to nitpick with my "hate" list haha
Piston ring sucks witch out mine pop out of place and need to replace them 😔 any vids or people know how to replace them let me know

I need a transmision 3 gear if gone did you have any suggestions?
For a temp fix you could always get the AGP gear extension kit and also slap on a short throw shifter to kinda prolong the life of the other gears, but the only way to fix that 3rd gear is a rebuild or a new transmission. You can try finding an used one, but usually they're always in bad shape and sellers lie about their condition. I'd shoot for a warrantied reman or find a good rebuilder, UNLESS you can find a really honest seller.
How much you think will cost me to rebuild the transmision? Also thanks for the reply
@@MrJoseeclipse123 I've seen rebuild prices at 375 for labor alone, and that's if you remove the transmission. They charge an additional 275 if they have to pull it themselves. Parts can set you back anywheres from like 450 to 550 depending on what gear sets you buy. Me, personally, I'd save up pull the tranny and slap a rebuilt one from online. You get a warranty on those and they go for $1200
Bro the only answer to the infamous 3rd gear grind is....get a new shift fork. That simple. I literally replaced the whole gear set and still had the same problem. Notice the shift fork is made of brass...it's meant to wear.
I fix transmision is ok know but I have one last question anyone know a good dyno close to lebanon pensilvannia that can tune the srt 4 ?

I hate my neon srt4, cant get rid of it.
Things I hated about my old Srt4
1) clutch shift fork, wear points are made of brass which wear down prematurely.
2) Clutch pushrod bracket is made of plastic which also wears down prematurely.
3) Reliability. Left me stranded on the road at least 20 times in 4 years.
4) Shifter linkage bolts snapped a few times every year.
5) Front wheel drive
I love how you mentioned it would be cool to have a rwd SRT-4 Well i was searching around the web and Then stumbled upon this bad Boy cant believe this shit here...They actually make a Rwd Conversion kit for this car just blows my mind this car is so upgradable and highly moddable here's the Link Check it Out Pricy But im sure its worth it.
The srt4s look so agressive in the front end but the rear end ruins it
I don't think it's that bad looking. I don't like the stance. Even lowered, it's like the rear is still "jacked" up. With Depo taillights and an MPx diffuser (which I hope to acquire eventually) they can actually look really nice. But, I do agree with you in a sense that the rear doesn't blend in with how aggressive Dodge made the front end!
I feel a lot of dodge cars have cheap clear coat
