    I remember going to assembly's "conventions" and helping out in the parking dept. Oh what a privilege that was🙄. All they ever did was raise more questions that they wouldn't and couldn't answer. What a BIG waste of a portion of our lives.

    I didnt leave because of policy. Honestly, I left because I spent 30 yrs suppressing my sexual identity and it was killing me. My body was sick with anxiety, pain, depression. I just reached a breaking point. And when i left i burned every bridge behind me so my family and the religion couldnt come after me. I left the country and traveled 3000 miles away from my home just to get away (and to stay with a "friend" id met online) 😉

    I was having doubts. The last convention I went to I remember a demonstration of a JW woman staying strong at work and not eating lunch with a coworker. I thought how can anyone think this is ok. My mother's funeral was the last straw. 5 min was about her. The rest propaganda. I'm glad I lived a bit of a double life too. Sure wish I left when I was 18 and went to university. That will always be a regret. But so glad I stopped worrying what others thought.... No relationship is worth living a lie or a life that doesn't make you happy. If so called family and friends want to put religion over their relationship with you then that's their choice. Their life. Not yours.

      Why did I leave? In a nutshell I was df. This was long before all of the organizatinal dirt, lies and internet. I was a straight-laced JW you couldn't get a nicer Jehovah loving person than myself. Due to my marriage there was indiscretion something that I know I should have never been df for.
      Like you said there were people who had a revolving door to the back room. Each time they were reinstated in about 6 months. It's all political. I did my letter about a year later. Denied! When I asked why I was told only by one "We'll just let you stay out there a little longer" I told them don't leave me out there too long and I'm not writing another nothing. Well the next time I heard from them it was 4 years later trying to get me to come back. By then it was way too late. I didn't live a wild life it was just a free life. I felt so free. I did lose my family and friends but it was worth it because I could be there today. I really ought to give that arrogant bastard a kiss. I left by default and have never been happier.

  • @gatoelurso

    I had been studying the Bible on my own (oh the horror) and was really having issues with some fairly minor things, and had really come to the realization that they did not have a monopoly on God. Then I moved, and had been assured that someone from the local congregation would be contacting me. While I was there, that didn't happen. (I heard later that they came by a month after I moved out). I figured if that's how bad they want me, I don't need to be with them.

    My doubts started with the Over-Lapping Generations teachings. Then came the Child Abuse Cases. Then came the 2014 Annual Meeting with the Tight Pants talk. And the straw that broke the Camel's back was the 2016 "Remain Loyal to Jehovah" Regional Convention (aka worst convention EVER). After that convention, I finally started to do some research. The first channel I followed was ExJW Fifth, followed by John Cedars and ExJW Critical Thinking. Almost immediately I decided to read 'Crisis of Conscience', and that was it. After reading that book, I WOKE UP! The cherry on top was the Australian Royal commission.

    I left in 2016, at the age of 72, why I left? Because somebody put in Facebook the ARC trial, I saw it because it said that the JWs were been investigated for child abuse! After days of watching it, I turned to other videos, activist videos, and never again I visited a KH! That was in April and May I sent my DS letter!

  • @jwnomore2488
    @jwnomore2488 4 года назад +4

    I left because of things that I saw in the org that I didn't like. Shunning, Spousal abuse (I was one of two witness for a sister that was beaten by her husband and one of the elders said its ok for a husband to hit his wife every now and then), Physical Child abuse and Sexual Child abuse (everyone in the cong knew that this a brother from the neighboring cong had sexually abused this young teenage girl in my cong. sure he was DF'd but the police weren't called. Yeah he was DF'd but this young girl wasn't offered counseling and was treated like damaged goods.) As a teenage girl one of the elders when ever he would talk to me only looked at my breast and it was a joke to bend your knees to see if you could meet his eyes. These are all things I've seen in this organization and this isn't even everything. Once I got into my early 20's I asked myself how can this be the Truth? These aren't one off's like they would like you to believe so I faded.

    The Christians in Sardis, who did not abandon their almost “dead” congregation (Rev. 3: 4), should serve as an example for every faithful JW. Never leave your congregation under any circumstances, even if you were treated unfairly in the Organization or if your confidence was shaken.
    REMEMBER: Jehovah’s people have the main pillars of biblical truth. These pillars include the following teachings:
    - Jehovah is the only true living God, the author of the Bible;
    - Jesus Christ is the firstborn of all creation. He will rule as king over the earth for one thousand years.
    - Through Christ’s ransom sacrifice, sinful humanity can approach the Creator in the present and have a hope of the resurrection in the new system of things after Armageddon;
    - Paradise on earth will be restored and sinless humanity will live on it forever;
    - Death is a consequence of sin;
    - Hell, as a place of eternal torment for sinners, does not exist;
    - There is no survival of the human soul after death;
    - Satan is an invisible ruler of this world;
    - Not all worship is acceptable to God, but only in spirit and truth.

I excused myself to go to the powder room. When I came back I refuse to ask anymore questions. I said I wasn't going to ask anymore questions and left. Another great person that explain things( Blacks are the real Hebrews) is by the name of Stephen Darby, He is a pastor, but not your TD Jake pastor, he is also on RUclips. I understand there Hebrew Camp out there that are aggressive; however their aggressiveness doesn't change the fact. And, really and truly I understand at times the reason of their aggressiveness, given what Blacks have suffered from White Domination.

      This demon spawn CULT is discussing. I start questioning the CULT when one of our many haughty self righteous judgemental "elders" give a talk about apostate literature. I was 16 years old and what he said made absolutely no sense. People were leaving the CULT after 20, 30, 40 years after reading apostate lies. I thought to myself, if we really have the "TRUTH" what could I read that would turn me away Jehovah. Boy what I read about... all the lies, all the false and failed prophecies, God's real name (Yahuah) which appears in the Divine name brochure, what HOVAH means in Hebrew(the next time a JW tells you he worships Je-HOVAH, tell them yes you do LOL) all the double talk and hypocrisy, how Russell really came up with the 1914 non sense, etc,etc.

    The bible says serving God is not burdomsome, so what’s up? I question thst cause I felt burdened , and his load is suppose to be light, I knew and that’s when I started to research and I got sick, this wasn’t the truth, besides, Jesus called God his father, but this religion is all Jehovah, I don’t even think that’s his name, besides, if I called my dad by his first name, he would have slugged me, my father in heaven is my Heavenly Father, not my buddie, Jesus never said Jehovah once, and I no longer do also, he is my father not my boss, he is my father not my drinking bud die or slave owner , enough, Jesus has many warning scriptures that helped me wake up. You have to pay attention when your reading the bible and you’ll find you don’t need to ask questions, just use common sence , hidxkoad us kight yet if you follow the g b you are a window washer, yeah, a light load, how the watchtower gonna be a multi billion dollar company if it’s not on our dime, I don’t wish to serve Satan but serving the watchtower is serving Satan
