How can i get the gunlance ticket to make bone gunlance? I missed the event.. 😔

I went with the Pickle-jho GL since I saw that it has Artillery 1 and Long shelling at 8.1 which gives me more options w/ the Build. I could run Azure helm, Basarios Chest, and Jyura Greaves which gives me Focus 4 and Artillery 3. (The Vambraces and Coil is still up for consideration whereas I have many options to choose from.)

You might want that extra point of artillery in the basarios legs since it gets you from 20% to 30% extra shelling damage. Then there are focus arms and focus coils you can use. Hopefully we can get artillery in more armor or driftmelts in the future.

@@1deg0 So, I understand Artillery, but I'm slightly comprehending Focus. Is there a difference between Focus 5 to Focus 4 or is Focus 5 unnecessary because you don't need to charge that much to get the combo.

@@1deg0 Did some testing on Focus 5 actually. Focus 5 activation timing is definitely Faster to activate if you're going for speed, but if you can understand the tempo of each Monster then you can tailor Focus to match their tempo.

The GL is incredible value for the investment. You can use this to carry you to a little bit into 10* where you can then start investing in element

That and the fact that shelling damage scales off of weapon rank, and not raw damage. Two long grade 5 gunlances will deal the same damage, but a grade 6 long gunlance with less raw damage but more elemental will still deal more damage than the grade 5, even though elemental damage doesn't affect shelling, only pokes and slashes. Gunlances are weird as heck.

Does quick reload recover faster when doing an uncharged shell afterward instead of going straight into another charged shell?

Yup, you can cancel the reload animation with an uncharged shot, but not if you charge. Should be a dps increase to cancel with an uncharged shot if you have a capacity of 4.

yeah, i just got my Grade 8.1 Bone Gunlance before reaching HR 50.
It is indeed very easy to use, as i can drive my car while hunting like 5 star monster which i cannot do with other weapoon, lol

Kushala. Resentment doesnt affect shelling damage afaik

You should try getting aggressor dodgers as that's the only other skill that increases damage to shellings.

@encee5 Forgot about that, but he perfectly dodged more, and the monsters wouldn't let you stay behind them unless you're playing multi-player

That's the goal! Final build will probably be Artillery 3, Focus 4, Evade Extender 1, Aggressive Dodger 4, Sneak Attack 1, Guard 1

@@1deg0 I wonder if it would be worth it drop one focus using Kulu Waist and adding another Aggressive Dodger or sneak. This also gives you 2 Evade Extender. This is my current game plan until another piece with Artillery drops. Also trying to make Jho GL but.......................x.x

I went with a more abundant aggressive dodge route because when I tried to put focus into my GL build I found myself overcommitting too often. I already have a good timing feel from being a bow user thus I opted to go with a quality of life choice.
As always there is no wrong way to play

Definitely a bit overtuned. Although charged shelling caps out in the lower 10*'s, it's still probably the best bang for your buck.
