My favorite by Geoff is Sixteen Tons, an old song about coal mining. It was made famous in the 1950's or 60's by Tennessee Ernie Ford. Geoff was brilliant in the way he used mining tools (sledge hammer, pickaxe, etc.) as percussion instuments!
Geoff's deep bass notes are so clean & clear. Loved your reaction, it was the same as mine...and everyone else's. I agree with one of your other commenters, try "Blackbird" next. Thanks for this reaction Samantha!
That was a fair choice for Geoff. However, I really think the best video that he has done solo is "Blackbird" a beatles cover. It really shows off his range in a clear manner.
I really like your Facebook channel here You allowed the video to play without stopping at 10 times. Watching your expressions and your thoughts to this video. Then you allowed your comments and your thoughts to this video at the end. That's a big thumbs-up for me. You're the best that I've seen on all these channels. Keep it good and keep it real young lady
Finally you did awsome rec headless horseman bass cover welcome to the voice play and Geoff castaluchi family voice play my mother told me a Viking shanty your going to flip
I know, words fail you sometimes. Two other great ones from Geoff are Country Roads, 16 Tons, and Blackbird. He clones himself to create his own backng group. :) Brilliant reaction .
Him going down like that, will not hurt. What he has learned to do is relax his vocal cords to get down that low. When you go high is when your are tightening them. That's how I hurt mine.
A clean vocal bass is a rare thing. I am a bass singer, and like I will tell you, it's much harder to control in bass than even baritone -- just a misplacement of the larynx can cause the note to change dramatically.
@@leechowning2712, he says that tongue-in-cheek. His natural speaking voice dips to an A1... even a low baritone is around an F2 speaking voice, and a bass-baritone around an E2 speaking voice.
Geoff has a 5 plus vocal range. The last note, I believe was an F1. Do as many of Geoffs video reaction as you wish. And as many acappella groups as you can find! It's a wonderful rabit hole of superb musicality! 👌🎯
Geoff uses a technique called subharmonics to get much lower, but you already need a very low voice to achieve something like this. I've been practicing just for fun, I'm a soprano (highest female voice), and now I can sing a lot lower, but it sounds like I might need an exorcism hahaha. Everyone suggested Blackbird, and I must agree, I also suggest Sixteen Tons. I've been enjoying a lot your reactions, very genuine.
awesome awesome reaction :) most reaction vids they pause it every 8 seconds and talk for 10 minutes, you let it play and bask in the awesome..you got a new sub :)
Also check out Black Is The Color Of My True Love's Hair - Peter Hollens & Avi Kaplan . Avi is also in the range with Geoff but is a different way and also has a great voice
Welcome to Voice play Geoff, next my Mother Told Me, Rich boy/girl, alot more have fun, plus Homefree, when a man loves a women...✌😘 thank u beautiful 😍
There is another version of this song, (Misty Mountains Cold) by Peter Hollens and Tim Foust, it was done about 6-7year's ago. You should listen to it as well, Tim Foust is the Bass singer from Home Free. Both Tim Foust and Geoff Castellucci are considered to be Dragon like singers (their ability to go subsonic) I hope you enjoy the older version too. 😀👍🍻
Thank you for your time and comments. I see a pattern, you like low voices. Tim, Diana now Geoff. 16 tons by Tennessee Ernie Ford is old song about the hardships of working in the coal mines. Companies payed miners in script, not real money, only the company owned stores would accept the script. Wages were never enough to sustain the miner and the family. Henceforth, (always in debt), a lyric in the song. Hope this peaked your interest, love your comments and reactions.
This song is from one of the Hobbit films so this was a well done cover version. This is the original soundtrack. ruclips.net/video/m5BETb-hLgA/видео.html
No offense to Geoff...I think he is an incredible singer of immense talent....and I have said this before....I think his bass is sometimes used as a gimmick, or it just comes off as that...however he has a LOT of great titles that this is NOT the case. I would check out (as mentioned before) Misty Mountains by Peter Hollens and Tim Faust and compare the 2 for yourself. Geoff's other great videos include Blackbird, 16 Tons, and a lot of VoicePlay where he is the bass.

My favorite Geoff solo project is Sixteen Tonnes. Voice Play shines with My Mother Told Me, Queen in 5 minutes and The Little Mermaid Medley

Also The Bare Necessities. Fun Disney song.
High and dry, is also a great showcase of his vocal range

That looks like three titles to me. 😉
Maybe one of them was cloned.
It is wonderous when Geoff sings harmony with himself !!
All the Geoffs singing all the parts.
Geoff is a TREASURE! He can do it all.
Speechless and priceless...
Loved your reaction, thanks! I agree Blackbird is a great song and really displays his range -- but for pure fun? Listen to 16 Tons.
Geoff sings all the parts in different costumes. He always harmonizes with himself.
Yes it’s all Geoff in different costumes overlayed singing all parts.
Him going down like that, will not hurt. What he has learned to do is relax his vocal cords to get down that low. When you go high is when your are tightening them. That's how I hurt mine.
Geoff is just wonderful. You should listen to Sixteen Tons and Black bird. I love the way he sing all four parts. So much talent.
A clean vocal bass is a rare thing. I am a bass singer, and like I will tell you, it's much harder to control in bass than even baritone -- just a misplacement of the larynx can cause the note to change dramatically.
The really entertaining thing is that he calls himself a Baritone... With his 5 octaves of range.

The last note was a G1, full chest. F1 is apparently his lowest chest note he's ever hit, but he hasn't officially in a video yet
@@camctrailJ.D. Sumner had the lowest voice. He was Elvis' bass singer and was in the Guinness Book of Records for the LOWEST voice.

Welcome to Voice play Geoff, next my Mother Told Me, Rich boy/girl, alot more have fun, plus Homefree, when a man loves a women...✌😘 thank u beautiful 😍
If I was a rich man/girl something like like that...😁😘
Geoff Castellucci's "My Mother Told Me" video is a pretty good example of his low range...if you're into bass.
Please react to Geoff's newest release. "Way Down". An Elvis Presley cover. Good thing you sit down during your reactions.
They are all Geoff .

The Peter Hollens/Tim Foust cover was five years ago, but Peter also did his own solo cover eight years ago.
I totally agree. This version, of course, is different but both are very well done. I love both versions. Cheers, Steve
I prefer Tim's version. This version is obviously in the clouds.
Samantha I have been watching you, You should hear Holly Dun ,Daddys Hands it is real good
It's from a movie of the JRR Tolkien book The Hobbit.

Misty mountains by Peter Hollins and Tim Faust is soooooooooo much better!!!! In will say jeff did a great job on this.
Agree to disagree - I love Geoff's 😁 Peter and Tim's is incredible, but didn't move me in the same way.
Not as good as Tim foust version!!
