Welcome to the beautiful world (and rabbit hole 😁) of Geoff Castellucci. 🙂
Maybe, just maybe, you (as many others at their first watch of Geoff through this video) didn't realise that "them" are actually all "him". Yup, only ONE singer here, Geoff Castellucci, digitally "cloned" into 4 Dwarves (from the left, Thorin Oakenshield, Kili, Fili, and Bofur), each with his particular make up, costume, voice and personality. 🙂
As you may have noticed, they "interact" as if there WERE four of them This is a skill that Geoff possesses and that make his videos so incredibly pleasant. 🙂
At the end of the video, there was the "suggestion" for the sequel to this one: "I see fire", from the SECOND movie of the Hobbit trilogy (this was from the first one). If you thought this was good, wait until you watch that other one 😅.
    Can't wait. 😁
Enjoyed your reaction a lot. So, see you next time!

Geoff has this effect on many women, and a few men too. It's the Geoff magic. He knows exactly what he's doing. As they say, if you've got it, flaunt it.

Geoff Castellucci has fooled more than one reactor into thinking there was more than one person singing. You have to checkout : I See Fire next. Just keep in mind all the people you will seeing and all the voices you will be hearing are all Geoff

There nothing better than four Geoffs. He got these same four dwarfs together for a second Hobbit song. I See Fire. We do get five Geoffs' in his newest cover of You Don't Mess Around With Jim by Jim Croce.

You’re not alone in having such a … physical… reaction to Geoff 😂
Subbed for more Geoff and VP. Plus there are some other great bass voices out there too hopefully you’ll get to hear sometime!
My fave Geoff cover is Ain’t No Sunshine, for the vocal acrobatics, but all his are great to be honest.
It’s also worth noting that he does nearly everything - arranging, performing (obv), filming, editing, etc. with some help from his wife Kathy (who makes a few cameo appearances) and he makeup by someone else, when necessary.

Great genuine reaction. I’m a big fan of Geoff! His voice is amazing across his entire (vast) range, and his music composition is phenomenal, from the chord structure to rhythms and all the other things that pull the listener in and keep them there for the entire performance. I think he may be the single most talented musician of our time, considering his array of skills.

Always happy to see a new fan of Geoff starting off on their journey down the rabbit hole!
As others have said, I See Fire from the 2nd Hobbit movie is a sequel to this, with the same 4 characters, and IMO is the best video on Geoff's channel.
Don't know how much into the technical music aspect you're into, but JIC: the three low tones that the main Geoff sang in the song were all the same note, G1. Geoff used three different techniques to sing them: the first was a subharmonic, which is a technique Geoff has been working on for several years now and he has pretty much perfected, where he's combining singing a note one octave higher (G2) with growl techniques so that it generates a note exactly one octave lower, the G1. The second version is "just" Geoff singing in his full chest voice, and reaching that G1 is not something most bass singers can do. The third/final version is another G1 chest, but Geoff let's a lot of breath come through that time, and you can really hear the vocal folds vibrating as he sustains the note.

I’m a new listener to VoicePlay, having discovered their very good rendition of “Daddy Sang Bass” recently. I was aware of Geoff and based on that cover decided to check out some of his tunes. I have to say he seems to have claimed the title of king of low bass. And as someone who actually has a very low voice himself, I feel like he could inspire me to work on my own lower register. Since he’s been extremely successful at going deeper than deep.

Geoff has some videos on his channel where he talks about how to sing low bass that I found fascinating (I’m not a singer myself, but my youngest child is, as are my older brother and sister, and I’ve always been interested in how on earth some people can do that with their voices… I don’t have a “musical” brain, and it’s so cool to me to learn what their thought processes are & hear explanations of how the physiology of it works)

As many songs as Geoff has sung so far, and some come very close to it, but this one is still my favorite of his.
    It fits him so well.
Other favorites of his, well ... I like some of the goofy ones, one of his Christmas songs 'Mele Kalikimaka feat. The American Sirens' is one of them. 'Monster Mash' is another.

Geoff is an amazing singer and so knowledgeable about his craft - his videos about how he hits those amazing notes, how he trains to maintain and extend his range are hugely interesting even if you're not a low singer yourself (I'm a baritone, so I AM a little biased in that regard.)
The lower male voices used to be such a "niche" thing. As a boy I had a lovely pure treble (good enough to be principal soloist of two choirs), SO wanted to be a tenor when my voice shifted. DID NOT HAPPEN. An oft-voiced complaint after I ended up with a somewhat crusty baritone was "Well, f***. All the best songs are written for tenors. What do I do now?" Now, my disappointment with ending up in the lower ranges was somewhat compensated by the teenage discovery that the tenor only "always gets the girl" on stage, and backstage is a little different, but still....
Singers like Geoff, like Tim Foust or Peter Barber are showing folks, on youtube, what the low voice is truly capable of and putting smiles on baritones and basses faces all over the world :)
However, it is probably a little disingenuous to pigeonhole Geoff as a "low voice" - the man has a 5-octave range! He's so good I really ought to hate him, but I can't so I'll just respect him instead.
And enjoy reactors responding to the "multi-Geoff experience" :D

As a Home Fry, I don't venture too far afield from them, but I do enjoy many of Geoff's solo works. Two of my favorites of his are Ghost Riders In The Sky and Sixteen Tons. Both old favorites of mine. That being said, as great as Geoff's version of this is, I also love the cover of this song that is done by Peter Hollens and Tim Foust. I would love to see you react to that one as well. Can't get too much of a good thing. And Tim's bass really rumbles too!

He must love knowing he can make women young (like you) and old (like me LOL) swoon just by opening his mouth. I must say, his wife Kathy must be an incredibly confident woman! But you know, I think Geoff is the really loyal type and she has nothing to worry about...which just makes you like him all the more! You certainly are not alone...it took me months of listening to him and VP too to not be like GAH!!! every time I heard them! There is just something that a deep deep bass does to everyone! Maybe because it's so unusual (HE is RARE!) but Basso profundo voices do seem to do that to most women and many men even geek out over it!

Young lady, at 66 years of age and a fellow man I can tell you without a doubt most sane heterosexual women will have this reaction to a man with a true base voice. While I can't sing to save my life both myself and my oldest son have deep base voices. But Geoff can put it to song. Do your self a favor and get your subwoofer and place it near you and replay this same song with the Base turned up. You can thank you later. My wife of 39 years has the same effect when I read stories to my grandson. I have been doing Audio Book Readings for a few years now, and her favorite one I did for her personally was Sandra Browns Ricochet. She has listened to that book almost weekly for the last few years to help her sleep haha

After years of manlets with medium-to-high pitch voices in TV/movies/music, the repopularization of a man's deep, rich, full voice is quite commanding, for sure. I've wondered if men instinctively find it something to respect, and if women find it something alluring. Seems true for both accounts.

Hi Alison! bit of a LOTR geek myself. Love the series. This is an incredible version of the song and Geoff, Geoff, Geoff and Geoff (😂🙃😉) do an amazing job with it. There is another version of the song that hits just as hard and is worthy of your attention! It's sung by Peter Hollens and Tim Foust. You definitely need to check it out on your own or as a reaction. ruclips.net/video/yb2HR47npEU/видео.html
