All my life, my dad used Fram Filters on all his vehicles. He maintained and rebuilt his own engines. So he put a lot of hard work and money into his cars and trucks and Fram Filters is what he chose to put in them. I followed his lead and I have put Fram Filters in all my vehicles for the past 30 years. Not one single issue or problem. I have a 2000 Ford Explorer with almost 300,000 miles on it and Fram is all that SUV has seen.
The only issue with brand loyalty like that is sometimes the name stays the same but they get bought out by another company and that purchasing company will sometimes change features on the product or they'll switch manufacturing companies altogether. Usually this happens without an announcement and the person thinks they're getting the same quality they used to know and love but the internal product quality is lesser unbeknownst to the consumer.
I swear by the STP XL...simple spring design, silicone drainback valve, and keeps very consistent oil pressure while having synthetic media and close pleats. Best filter!
I cut open my used oil filters and the Bosch 3410 had a split in the pleat. None of the Fram filters that I cut open had separated from the end disc or open pleats. My preference is Motorcraft. For the money they kick ass.
My Local Walmart sells the Mobil1's for $9 - everyday price. I run them in both of my vehicles with Valvoline High mileage dino juice - 5qt jug for $17, I'm happy with a $26 oil change. Thanks for the great video!
I used the M1-110A in my 2006 Nissan Armada, with 7 quarts of Castrol full synthetic 5W-30. I am running at about 5540 miles, and I’m not going to say the oil looks brand new, but it looks pretty good for being over 5000 miles. Funny thing, I went to Auto Zone today to drop off some used motor oil, and I figured I would get the filter there. Looked at that &15.00 price tag and took a 2 minute drive to Walmart and paid $9.97. I new it was going to be more expensive at Auto Zone, however, I was thinking $1 or $2 maybe, BUT $5.00 DIFFERENCE ?! ?! ?! That’s RIDICULOUS.
The standard STP filter has changed from Korea to China and fractionally smaller and has a slight twisted filter medium. On these new filters I've also seen 2 filter mediums disconnected by small tears near the endcaps after oil changes. My oil antidrainback valve seal failed and could tell by the ratcheting sound when starting without oil leaks and oil at proper level.
I used the basic Fram Extra Guard oil filter with full synthetic oil with 5,000 miles of use, which took me roughly 5-6 months. I did the oil analysis with Blackstone Laboratories and they stated the oil filter did a fine job at filtering impurities from the oil. Though I highly recommend any top of the line oil filters of your preferred choice. I purposely used the extra guard for the oil analysis just out of curiosity.
Great video. I've just recently started using the STP Extended Life filter along with STP SYN Full Synthetic 5W20 in my recently purchased 2017 Jeep Patriot. Good stuff for sure.
I use the Bosch Premium 3330 on my 2018 Harley 1200. Rated for 20 Microns. Oil comes out of the filter cleaner than the Tank "Bag" as some call it. Also use Valvoline Syn 20/50 Motorcycle oil.
A major determining factor affecting how long a filter "lasts" is how much debris your engine sheds into the oil. So saying that a filter lasts 10K is just nuts. It MAY still filter well at 10K but it may be clogged up at 5K, too. Depends on your engine and its condition.
Stp extended life is my go to. Fram is fine, might collapse a pleat if you go past the recommended mileage but I love the grip they give you to remove the filter. Stp extended life being on par with a Bosch shocked me a bit. It's usually on sale but such a good filter. I only buy Mobil 1 filters when they don't have the stp extended and I'm sure to you it sounds weird but my store usually carries all cartridge filters in Mobil brand. I will say for jeeps wranglers and toyotas the Mobil filters are very good quality with good thick o rings. I haven't used Mobil filters for anything that isn't a 4runner or wrangler.
I don't really consider a "oil filter test" a real test unless it actually filters oil. Maybe it's just me...but what's inside it doesn't really matter to me, it's the QUALITY of the oil after a fixed number of miles. Oil tests done, THEN cut them open and see which looks the best inside. I still enjoyed your video as to "build quality", but it's not really a oil filter TEST. Thank you sir for spending your time to show us this information. Peace✌👍
I see what you're saying. But if you know the quality of materials used to make the oil filter are trustworthy and good then you could just compare them by the size of particulates they filter down to and how much of those particulates it can hold onto right?
I normally get the Mobil 1 Extended Performance M212A filter for my impala, always wondered about STP filters, I only used their air filters for my engine but thats it. I’ll give their STP extended life filter since it’s always a special at Autozone.
@@brandoned it’s just a filter, nothing crazy. I would be recommended for OEM but honestly AC Delco is a little extra so STP Is less but still good for a daily driver
Walmart’s cheapest filter $2.97 Supertech is rated for 10000 mi and 99% of whatever that mean, is very similar to WIX and very well build. Thanks for the video.
I have been using Bosch filters for the last 3 years. $5 at my local autozone. They are great but my local autozone doesn’t sell them no more. I picked up a STP Extended, couldn’t tell the difference between that and the Bosch. Found the Mobil 1 Extended at Walmart for $9.
I usually run Denso filters on our Japanese cars, exclusively Motorcraft on the Mustang weekend cruiser, but I have used the STP filters on the daily driver Japanese cars with zero problems. When AutoZone runs the oil change special and the STP filter is only $1 extra with the purchase of a 5qt jug that is too good a deal to pass up in my opinion.
Do you think the standard STP filter is ok for a 5k interval with synthetic oil? My Toyota van calls for a 5k interval so I'd rather not change before that if not necessary.
I have never ever had an Issue running a Fram. I think the people who have Issues with Fram are guy who rebiuld something and had no clue on what they were doing.
@@AlahuSnackbar that is a coincidence. Around 80K its time to change the chain, it certainly wasn't the oil filter. Anyone who knows about cars would tell you the same.
@@pete79602Time to change the chain at 80,000? When i used to own my old 94 Chevy Silverado k1500 i called to see about getting my timing "belt" replaced and he told me that it had a timing chain and that it didn't need to be changed and that he's seen rigs make it to 500,000 miles on the original timing chain. Maybe that's just concerning those particular Chevy motors. 🤷
I've been using regular STP filters for 15 years never had an issue..when I was young and dumb I would run fram filters..I blew a few engines up which may or may not have been frams fault but then I went to school for automotive technology and my professor did a filter cut up and showed how fram filters were junk..he swore by WIX filters..but did say STP filters weren't bad..so I run STP because their cheap and reliable..
WANT THE BEST PROTECTION FOR YOUR ENGINE IT WOULD BE AMSOIL SIGNATURE SERIES , LUCUS SYNTHETIC OIL STABILIZER WITH A BOSCHE PLATINUM SYNTHETIC OIL FILTER YOU CAN RUN 15,000 KM OR 9,000 MILES. I HAVE A 1986 CJ 7 WITH A 258 INLINE 6 WITH 883,927 KM OR 549,000 MILES ON IT IT RUNS PERFECT.
Another youtube upload has a PH series fram with 5,000 miles on it, the cardboard end cap separated from the filter element. So it's probably fine at a 3,000 OCI.
Had a bad experience with Fram on my race car. The filter collapsed and the oil starvation caused the 1 rod bearing to spin. I have not used one since. That was in 1997. Maybe they have changed since.
Was it a FRAM Racing filter, or a regular ExtraGuard? They used to make true "racing" filters. It was their "HP" line. Maybe they still do (?). Each filter has a "rated flow" you shouldn't exceed. Race cars aren't typical applications a regular filter is designed for. I've also seen a lot of "chicken-egg" cases where there is no evidence of "what failed first", the engine or the filter. When a bearing lets go, the entire oil stream is full of debris. Any evidence of filter failure is masked by what happened after the engine let go.
Go with the Mobil One for the $10.00 at Walmart. Don’t be cheap with the filter. Don’t drink that plastic cup of $10.00 crappy beer at a ball game and get yourself a top quality oil filter.
What filter captures the smallest particles micron wise? I see the ones that are 99% but then I look at it more and it’s 30 or more microns which obviously if you’re going to get a good filter it’s going to be 99% if it’s 30 or 40 µm
Travis D Fram filters are good filters. Honda dealerships use there OEM oil filters and they are made by Fram. Honda engines are known to get 300,000 miles out of there engines with no major problems. Mann filters don't even have end caps on there oil filters. Check out the Mann oil filter pictures. Fram oil filters ruined engines? Those people are full of crap. They ran the engine with no oil or neglected oil interval changes.
CarsNToys Honda OEM oil filters are made by Fram. They used to be made by Filtech. The engines are known to go 300,000 miles. Check out the Mann oil filter pictures cut open. They don't even have end caps and they are supposed to be great oil filters.
Travis D he talks about Fram's oil filter having cardboard end caps. Mann oil filters don't have them at all. Fram's end caps have a very good adhesive on them. There fine.
STP is still better then the fram cardboard filter. it has a metal clamp instead of glued like the cheap fram the STP fillter in this case is three steps up from the fram filter even if it is cheap it's still made better quality matter 6:09 clear the fram filter is collapsing
You are extremely ignorant. Fram filter ends are not paper or cardboard. It’s a fabric-like material, and it’s used because it gives a superior seal with the adhesive compared to flat metal, it’s also cheaper, which is just fine since the only time they fail to hold up is when people cut open the filters and start pulling the material apart.
@@stephenmartinez1 Why would i want to trust flimsy material on a 6,000$ engine... you must have a low very lQ have you seen failed cartridges ? Yeah it's no different ..
@@punker4Real you could use your, “I don’t want to risk my $6,000 engine” argument for any entry-level oil filter. A lot of oem filters are made by fram. Millions of us have used Fram’s filters for years and I’ve never heard of a fram filter destroying an engine, they have certainly worked well for my vehicles. Garbage Chinese-made filters can indeed destroy an engine, by coming apart and having pieces block oil passages. But fram filters are quality, they would never be sold in American stores if they could destroy an engine. Your statement of ‘cheap cardboard’ is factually incorrect.
@@stephenmartinez1 yeah the cheap garbage at the dealership.. why would i want to buy something that only filters for 1,000 miles when i can get a better filter that works for 4000-4500miles
@@punker4Real there are no filters sold on American shelves that only filter for 1,000 miles. You’re just making shit up. Many entry level filters last as long as the oil does, which is well past 5k miles, and higher quality filters last 10k or more. You don’t think these American made filters are thoroughly tested to ensure they perform as advertised? We’re not talking about junk made in China.
stp filter is inconsistent. I've seen metal mesh and without inside the same filter number. Different size as well! I had fiber/glue holding my stp filter media. I'd still use it, just would like to see it with less personality.
I've been a Fram guy all my life ( guess those commercials worked) but going with Mobil 1 for my next change. BTW, do you have a link to the follow up video you said you were going to do where we can see how these filters actually worked?
A fram never ruined anyone's engine, people's neglect and lack of maintenance/knowledge did. Ran them for decades in daily, farm&racin applications and never an issue. Also, why double or triple stint a filter 5,75,or 10k...? for price and turn over can just as easily swap out 3 fresh filters. what would be good is seeing highest end filters from all brands compared, but I see cost prohibitive too. thanks for the insights
Erik Dale of course, if you change it when you change oil, they won't harm. of you are like me and you run on extreme conditions, you mite wanna get a high end filter
Erik Dale I've seen too much where a person claims a Fram gives out before it's mileage recommendation, and throws all the debris back into the engine. I wouldn't put a Fram oil filter on my engine unless it is the Fram Ultra Synthetic. Don't go 15,000 miles, though, like it recommends it can go. I prefer a Bosch or Six for price and quality.
Erik Dale Fram filters are for idiots. No OEM filter uses cardboard end caps or rubber anti drainback valves! If I'm going to buy a filter that is not OEM it is going to be one that is superior to the OEM filter such as the Mobil 1. So much smarter to buy a $9.00 Mobil 1 filters rated for 20,000 miles than to buy a $4.00 Fram that in in grave danger of failing past 5,000 miles and not only that the rubber valve will shrink and allow more dry starts, the media does not filter nearly as well and the uneven pleating can negatively affect oil flow and pressure. The canister is also very flimsy which can burst or be punctured more easily. There is no reason to buy a Fram over the OEM or the high end aftermarket filter unless you are THAT broke or you think saving five bucks at the checkout counter is worth risking the longevity and like new performance of your engine. Cheap aftermarket filters are for idiots.
Thanks for the effort. It would be sweet get a pressure test on them, though that kit, I assume, would be super pricey. I would be interested in seeing factory filter comparison pressure with that of aftermarket filters. If I win the lottery, I'll hook you up :) Thanks again.
I use M1 annual oil filters end it says it collects 99% of all dirt and debris but then I look at the test that they did the iso one and I believe they tested it with 30 micron particles of whatever.
Il you change your oil & oil filter every 100 miles or every two weeks (whichever comes first), you will have no problem with your car. But you will have to deal with the problem you have in your head though.
I like your videos and your presentation. Keep up the good work. Try mopar 899 vs equivalents from ac, motorcraft, stp, microguard, wix and napa. Thanks!!!
Its not necessary to change oil at 3000 mile. Even the cheap filters are rated for 5k and most mfg's say 5k for change intervals. Oil qualities are much better than 30 yrs ago.
Oils are good for 5k but filters do clog. Never buy fram or stp. Pay the extra $3 for the Bosch and look for something larger and heavier as long as your filter is not near exhaust parts. You dont want that extra heat in your oil or engine. Some cars specifically have smaller filters to reduce heat. Smaller filters need changed more. For example my subaru says change every 7k miles or 3.5k for severe driving. Believe it or not this oem filter is not good for 7k miles. It is way to small to last that long. If you do have a smaller filter I would always recommend doing the severe driving interval. Btw, my family follows this and we have always had our cars last 250k miles and they rarely have engine issues.
Change your oil and filter every 5,000 to 5,500 , and between your oil change charge your oil filter at 2,500 miles. The oil can last longer the your oil filter. When you change your filter earlier it will be cleaner and easier for the oil to go through the filter. Oil filters are cheap and it only take a short time to do it. Myself, I cut them open and see what is inside. What I learned is gasoline, shell gasoline is the clearest oil change. If I run everything place, cheapest gasoline, wal- mart, speedway, My oil change, and inside the filter is dirtier and darker.
The difference is the overall filter capacity. As the filter ages it gradually is more restrictive to flow. The modern engines gain rpms much more quickly. A restrictive filter can cause the bypass to open up and pass unfiltered oil. This is a concern particularly in vvt engines. The vvt systems are very vulnerable to debris.. The racing filters have the highest flow capacity.
Javier Hernandez Mobile one has never been 9 bucks , unless it’s on sale. It’s like 15.99 plus for there high end one like that. Stp is just the in house brand autozone I believe , but max life is there best filter. It’s good quality . I did quite a bit of research on them

@@calebniederhofer678 in my local Walmart the regular price is $9 and 70 something cents. I've always thought it was normal. The Fram ULTRA is like $9.10 and the k&n is like $11. The stp is a good filter for sure but I'd never pay $15 for it not when I can get the mobil 1 ep 20k for under $10. I'd pay $8 for the stp max and Fram ultra.
You gotta be careful when you listen to people's opinions. "FRAM killed my motor." Lol of course there couldn't be ANY other factors within that situation at all. Right? The first thing I would do personally, when a person says things like that I would take a look at what they know and what they do with their car. Are they a real mechanic or are they someone who sits in their driveway and bolts-on performance parts. I wouldn't bet that they are a standard Automotive Vehicle user who simply knows how to drive a car and nothing more, because those people wouldn't know enough to be blaming the oil filter for a catastrophic engine failure. There's all those of reasons that an engine can fail and it Almost always is preventable if you know enough about your engine's design. For example a common one is Timing Belt grenade-effect in which for one reason or an other the timing belt (or chain) fails to keep the valvetrain in time with the upcoming pistons in an interference-type engine. This could be because of a hydraulic tensioner which had design issues from the factory (maybe there was a superseded design and can be replaced for just 1,500-2000 dollars). That's just one example of a reason it could happen and how the owner could have prevented it. Remember yes we've been making advancements in Auto manufacturing in the last hundred or so years but no, that does NOT mean the Mfg's goal is to build vehicles that have a life of 400,000miles. Why? Because they intend for the vehicle to fail and that you will inevitably buy a different one. There does come a time when you are putting more money into an old car than it is worth when you can buy a new one with a 60,000 mile b2b warranty and every repair is free to youand depending on your credit, the new car can be as low as 200-300 monthly (about 3,600 per year) instead of rolling the dice every day you get in your car "will I make it or will I have another 1,300 repair bill." Either way you look at it you don't get to drive for free and the only way to reduce those costs is if you're a trained and experienced Auto tech which also costs money and you'll need the 20 to 50 thousand dollars in tools too.
K i r k H 4 2 0 the chance the oil filter destroyed someone’s engine is fucking slim to none lol obviously theirs way more to the story they just had a fram on their car

JIGA BACHI Google best oil filters. Mobil1 extended performance comes out winning all the time. It's the engineering. I buy them on EBay $15.00 delivered to my front door with free shipping. You should do this again but the same required filter number like compared mobile Fram boss STP mobile filters that were for the same car they should all be the same size and flow the same for that make model of motor
It means it'll filter out 93% of particles according to it's micron rating. The general micron particle size is 20. So it will filter 93% of all particles that are 20 microns or bigger.
So I have a vehicle with high mileage and don't use synthetic or a blend for oil changes. Are you saying there's no point for me to purchase a decent filter?

Jason K Mobil 1 full synthetic oil and extended life filter. The most important thing though, is to change oil every 5k or every year (whichever comes first) for full synthetic.
Joel 1 Walmart Super Tech filters are made by Wix. They are very good filters and reasonable at Walmart. There Super Tech full synthetic oil is also very good oil.
Jon Smith Mobil1 extended performance always wins in testing when I Google the info on oil filters. $15.00 with shipping delivered to my door from EBay. I spend the extra few dollars for peace of mind. Mobil 1 Full Synthetic oil.
The Super Tech is better, in my opinion, than the Fram (orange cheapest), and the Fram Tough Guard (silver). It seems to have much better bulk on the inside, especially since the Super Tech has metal end caps, and the Frams do not. One thing I like about the Fram Tough Guard is the Silicone anti drain back valve, but the lack of cleaning paper material is scary. The Super Tech is paper also, but it looks like much more than those 2 Frams. I prefer the Bosch Premium for price and quality, and buy in bulk off Rockauto.com. I have had bad luck with Rockauto.com before with some wrong parts that are a pain to return, but never bad luck with filters. Purolator is a very good choice for your engine, and what I would choose over Super Tech.
FRAM makes FRAM for their retail business primarily in Wal*Mart, some Honda and some Subaru oil filters. Champ has its own brands (Champ & Luberfiner), but it primarily operates as a contract manufacturer of many, many brands. Currently Champ makes OEM Ford (Purolator makes Ford OES "Motorcraft"), some OEM & OES AC Delco, some Mopar, some Harley, some Kawasaki, some K&N, some Mobil1, some Valvoline, etc. From 2011 to 2016 both FRAM and Champ were owned by the same parent company, Rank Group. But the Champ portion of the business was separated and ownership transferred to other investors in 2016. Both companies make and sell a TON of oil filters
Obviously you are NOT an engineer or a scientist. I have been using FRAM for 30+ years for all my vehicles, and ALL pass 200K and running perfectly without any vibration. FRAM does NOT over-done with their products, but it is ADEQUATE protection for normal wear and tear. It is enough, no need for more. This is called science. For example, if your transmission doesn't support 500 hp and 2,500 ft-lbs torgue engine, why do you need pay the extra money to install and 500 hp engine? Why don't you steel plated your house in case of drive by shooting which might never come?
Ive been using fram for years on my vehicles never a problem with them. The thing ive never understood is what they mean by synthetic. It it actual any different material than a paper material cause it looks like the same shit 😂 also random interesting fact mobil makes k&ns filters.
Good question. The synthetic material is different from polyester/cellulose/fiberglass used in lower end filters. Synthetic filters allow for greater flow and capture smaller particles. Cheers
@@CarsNToys Amazon has Puralator and Bosch. Both very good ! I last bought some Bosch on Ebay. Local stores only have the cheap filters usually. Sometime you can find K& N almost as good. I used those fir. Many years.
The interesting thing is that Fram makes both the worst AND the best filter available. The orange cans are shit, but the Fram Ultra Synthetic is possibly the best oil filter you can buy. There is a little competition now, but it's all way more expensive. Thick, full synthetic media backed with steel mesh, all metal construction and still has the nice rough grippy part on the outside.
Most are idiots and change their oil and filter too late or think that it's okay to replace a filter at 10-15 k when the limit is overdue and can damage your engine.

Yes an OEM such as Honda/Acura, Subaru, and Toyota vs Mobile 1, Amsoil, K&N, and Royal Purple.
If you are using synthetic oil definitely go with an after market oil filter.
OEM are just rebranded/nobrand versions of the same filters seen on store shelves.
I normally get the Mobil 1 Extended Performance M212A filter for my impala, always wondered about STP filters, I only used their air filters for my engine but thats it. I’ll give their STP extended life filter since it’s always a special at Autozone.
how did the STP extended life filter work for you i was thinking of getting it myself.
I just updgraded to the stp extended life and had Bosch before that. I try to avoid the frams honestly even before seeing what was inside
That's a good $ for the Mobil1.
What differences do you expect to feel or notice when changing oil filter brands?
I think the people who have Issues with Fram are guy who rebiuld something and had no clue on what they were doing.
never rebuilt my car and I'm certain the fram filters that I started using at 80K miles ruined my timing chain.
Fram filters are cheap no good filters. I use stp
I've always used orange Frams on our OHV engines with no problems. Our SOHC and DOHC engines get the better filters.
I used STP for many years but changed the oil every 3k miles. I never had an issue . Cheers
Could you look at the oil filters used at Valvoline Instant Oil
SC457A I've seen that happen too. A Fram filter collapsed and ruined the 4 cylinder engine in a 2001 Camry. What a shame!
There still crap!
the hastings filters made in the 1970.s hade the 1 inch nut also . and had a cotton like mesh in them.
STP Extended Life Filters are top quality. That's what I use in my Patriot along with STP SYN Full Synthetic Motor Oil.
I haven't had any issues as well.
Lol BS
Fram Ultra is a really good filter imo.
What do you like about it?
Go with the Mobil One for the $10.00 at Walmart. Don’t be cheap with the filter. Don’t drink that plastic cup of $10.00 crappy beer at a ball game and get yourself a top quality oil filter.
What filter captures the smallest particles micron wise? I see the ones that are 99% but then I look at it more and it’s 30 or more microns which obviously if you’re going to get a good filter it’s going to be 99% if it’s 30 or 40 µm
Love your filter videos...thank you
It would be nice to pour used oil and see how good they filter the oil.Another video? :)
Kasra Kakavand you won't go wrong with Mobil One oil filters. Check yourbestpicks.com. Find the oil filter testing.
I've been buying stp extended life and changing every 3000 miles 😂
I've always used fram and have never had any issues but i also don't use the cheap $5 filters.
I've had good luck with Fram as well . Cheers.
There fine.
STP is still better then the fram cardboard filter.
it has a metal clamp instead of glued like the cheap fram
the STP fillter in this case is three steps up from the fram filter
even if it is cheap it's still made better quality matter
6:09 clear the fram filter is collapsing
You are extremely ignorant. Fram filter ends are not paper or cardboard. It’s a fabric-like material, and it’s used because it gives a superior seal with the adhesive compared to flat metal, it’s also cheaper, which is just fine since the only time they fail to hold up is when people cut open the filters and start pulling the material apart.
@@stephenmartinez1
Why would i want to trust flimsy material on a 6,000$ engine...
you must have a low very lQ
have you seen failed cartridges ?
Heard Subaru has a special drain back or the pressure is different on there filter. Not sure but have heard it .
stp filter is inconsistent.
"You can pay me now or pay me later"😂
Between Fram Ultra Synthetic, Napa Platinum and Mobil1 which should I go with?
A fram never ruined anyone's engine, people's neglect and lack of maintenance/knowledge did. Ran them for decades in daily, farm&racin applications and never an issue. Also, why double or triple stint a filter 5,75,or 10k...? for price and turn over can just as easily swap out 3 fresh filters. what would be good is seeing highest end filters from all brands compared, but I see cost prohibitive too. thanks for the insights
Erik Dale of course, if you change it when you change oil, they won't harm. of you are like me and you run on extreme conditions, you mite wanna get a high end filter
Erik Dale
You can't make that claim
You're assuming too much with no data
Ignorance abounds
No Asylum
I agree
If I win the lottery, I'll hook you up :) Thanks again.
lol..thanks. Yea, unfortunately I don't have that kind of machinery. Cheers
I use M1 annual oil filters end it says it collects 99% of all dirt and debris but then I look at the test that they did the iso one and I believe they tested it with 30 micron particles of whatever.
I've heard only bad about FRAM. I use Wix or Bosch.
Il you change your oil & oil filter every 100 miles or every two weeks (whichever comes first), you will have no problem with your car. But you will have to deal with the problem you have in your head though.
you have a "gum out" face
I like your videos and your presentation. Keep up the good work. Try mopar 899 vs equivalents from ac, motorcraft, stp, microguard, wix and napa. Thanks!!!
Great suggestion!
What do you recommend me ? I use shogun filter :/
If I run everything place, cheapest gasoline, wal- mart, speedway,
My oil change, and inside the filter is dirtier and darker.
Can u do a Mobil one annual protection please?
Shop around
I purchased several extended life Bosch filters that were on sale for my car and truck at Walmart for $3.00 each
That's an excellent price. They're well made filters.
Are there any risks to using an oil filter designed for synthetic with conventional oil instead?
No. Most filters are designed to be used with conventional, blend or full synthetics.
I’m running STX max life , Hard to beat for under 12 bucks.
Stp max life? The mobile 1 m1 20k is $9 and better
Javier Hernandez You are correct on 10 dollars , I think it does depend on truck , car , size too though a little.
@@calebniederhofer678 it's a midsize filter not a tiny one. The real huge filters are a bit more.
I know for a fact Mobil one has changed some of the filter designs and they look like you do Not get what you are paying a premium price for.
Fram 6607 filter is the same as the Bosch 3300 and STP 6607, about the same as the M-108 Filter in size. Tiny, but works. lol
I dent my oil filter when installing w. pliers. Is it okay? The filter was covered w. oil so it was hard to tighten w. hands. So I used, overused, pliers. The filter has a dent on one side. No leak. But I am a bit concerned. What do you think guys?

Glad to help.
Hi what does 93% efficiency mean, on stp filter?
It means it'll filter out 93% of particles according to it's micron rating. The general micron particle size is 20. So it will filter 93% of all particles that are 20 microns or bigger.
So I have a vehicle with high mileage and don't use synthetic or a blend for oil changes. Are you saying there's no point for me to purchase a decent filter?
TheVideoFuzz a good filter is still needed, it filters the small particles out so I would stick with a better filter even though you Change it often you never know what small things get caught in those guys
It does not matter what you purchase, just follow the recommended procedure and should be good to go.
Main thing is that you are.. doing it.
wobbly sauce Very true. I usually try to change both a bit before I hit 3,000. Not sure if it helps doing it sooner but it makes me feel better about it haha
Mine is over 900,000km, doing it every 10,000k, but do lots of start stop, avg is about 200hrs-ish engine running time, driving-idle like a Taxi.
Service books states 15,000k. 6L +0.5L with filter.
I got a story for ya, Fram didn't kill my motor though, Thank god i'm switching to STPXL's. anyway i don't trust Fram at all what-so-ever. there was dirt and grit in my 361 Big-block.

Joel 1 Walmart Super Tech filters are made by Wix. They are very good filters and reasonable at Walmart. There Super Tech full synthetic oil is also very good oil.
Super tech Walmart brand and purolator missing

Purolator: ruclips.net/video/ARFGm7BftJM/видео.html
Jon Smith Super Tech are made by Wix. He talks about end caps. Mann doesnt have end caps.
Just an FYI STP, Bosh, and Mobil one are all made by Champ industries just different specs.
Wildman of the Wynooch ....Fram, Purolator, Motorcraft and AC Delco are tooo!
Sorry, Fram makes Fram, Purolator is made by Purolator and they make Motorcraft and AC Delco.
Yep!
the aftermarket AC Delcos are made by Champion,,,,same as STP
Obviously you are NOT an engineer or a scientist. I have been using FRAM for 30+ years for all my vehicles, and ALL pass 200K and running perfectly without any vibration. FRAM does NOT over-done with their products, but it is ADEQUATE protection for normal wear and tear. It is enough, no need for more. This is called science. For example, if your transmission doesn't support 500 hp and 2,500 ft-lbs torgue engine, why do you need pay the extra money to install and 500 hp engine? Why don't you steel plated your house in case of drive by shooting which might never come?
Stp xl is a good filter
Stp is made by champion labs now and is no longer metal end caps
You're kidding..I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the heads up.
I’d rather spend an extra $5 and not gamble away the welfare of my car
Frame filters are trash in comparison to any other filters.
My cheap oil change place uses proguard oil filters. Good or bad?
Ive been using fram for years on my vehicles never a problem with them. The thing ive never understood is what they mean by synthetic. It it actual any different material than a paper material cause it looks like the same shit 😂 also random interesting fact mobil makes k&ns filters.
Good question. The synthetic material is different from polyester/cellulose/fiberglass used in lower end filters. Synthetic filters allow for greater flow and capture smaller particles. Cheers
I picked up a Fram and returned it. It said made in China on the outer casing.
Really..? Was it their Tough Guard? I have yet to see that. I wonder if they're making a change over.

I would stay away from the Fram. It looks to be much lower quality in comparison with the other four.
you are rite becuase he bough the $2 not the $18 fram
Jason C. Well this is the cheapest Fram. The best Fram is really good.
The interesting thing is that Fram makes both the worst AND the best filter available. The orange cans are shit, but the Fram Ultra Synthetic is possibly the best oil filter you can buy. There is a little competition now, but it's all way more expensive. Thick, full synthetic media backed with steel mesh, all metal construction and still has the nice rough grippy part on the outside.
fram rules the filter biz.
Most are idiots and change their oil and filter too late or think that it's okay to replace a filter at 10-15 k when the limit is overdue and can damage your engine.
SacreDro Very true. New oil and filter every 5k (6k max) for full syn. Some manufacturers OCI's are plain ridiculous.
Their aim is to replace your car every 5-6 years.
@SacreDro, that's why you got to use high efficient aftermarket parts.
@MarzNet256, the 5,000 & 6,000 is for synthetic oil.
Fram is consistently garbage
Bosch makes a good oil filter, but their spark plugs and wiper blades are pure garbage.
Wow…

Not a good comparison. In fact a really disingenuous video. Comparing low cost Fram to high cost Mobile. Compare apples to apples
