The Switch Pro Controller is really good. Basic but it feels nearly perfect in my hands. Imo it is worth. I hope Nintendo make them usable also for Switch II in the future.
One thing I really like about the Pro Controller is its pretty simple it is to swap out shells. I've done a soft green shell and a transparent purple on my two controllers.

Also technically you do need to take into account how batteries normally leak power. I think my original switch can play for like four or five hours or so on one battery charge, but also loses all of that charge over the course of 3 days just being in sleep mode
I have mine being delivered today, I just got the Switch (Oct 2023) and I instantly hated the controller, both just the joycons and also having them hooked into the bar. No grip and slippy as hell, plus small buttons designed more for children than adults, despite their marketing. I was never a brand snob, but if you are going to buy any console, always better to get official licensed products, just so that you can have the logo on the box.
Every time I pick up my pro controller, I appreciate just how split it feels, it’s really impressive, blows ps5/4 Xbone/series x controllers out the water

I’m thinking about getting one purely for games that require more accuracy such as FPS and or games that require aiming in general because I found the joy con analog sticks even with sensitivity adjusted don’t move as smooth as they should and want to know if it’s a meaningful improvement in that sense.
I have both the Elite Series 2 and I just got the Switch Pro Controller. The only thing that I don't like from the Elite that I love from the Pro controller is the texture of the XABY keys. They are soft to the touch which may be helpful for longer sessions. My fingers ache when I play for too many hours with the Elite.

Which LG monitor you are using? Switch games looks great on that. When I connect my Switch to my Samsung monitor, the image is horrible, probably because the monitor does not have any internal upscaling features.
Just traded in some joycon and an old xbox remote for the Pro controller, since the oled has that big stand it makes sense to place it on a table and use the pro controller instead

Well, you won’t be able to use the back paddles and Elite controller doesn’t have gyroscope. You won’t be able to use the headphone jack. You can try if you like the materials of the elite controller. But pro controller has more features on Switch. Even ps5 controller is better for switch because it has gyroscope
Get a "Power A"wired controller. Only 16 bucks. You don't need vibration and motion control for FIFA of any year. Moreover, no lags with wired controller. I own FIFA 21 on Nintendo Switch.
You need fast response times when you need to do a quick tap in goal in a small window of chance. Wired controllers are ideal for FIFA, and fighting games where you have to do quick combos.

The official Switch Pro controller, imo, is one of the worst Nintendo controllers period. Why? It's high input lag(12ms more than the Joy-cons...) is unneceptable for most genres, it's boasting a boring/vanilla XBOX360 clone design which is so unlike Nintendo since they've been creating unique, colourful and innovative controllers for decades. It's HD Rumble feels diluted and muffled(probably due to being housed in thick plastic) Vs the detached joy-cons. With the Pro, it's harder to feel or catch those HD Rumble subtleties and definition. Plus, it's Gyro motion has no reference. Aka, no sensor bar. So you'll find yourself loosing cross hair accuracy and having to constantly press a realignment button, depending on the game. Hysterical. Can't wrap my head around why the pro controller is so highly praised. it's as bland and boring as it gets. it IS super comfortable, fits like a glove and the buttons feel mostly solid I'll give it that.

It is pricey but it’s a must have if you’re going to be playing for extended periods. I love mine and it’s adds so much enjoyment to the switch
