I bought the lcd version when it first came out and loved it. There were learning curves with Linux but it was great. I sold it to get a Lenovo legion go not too long ago but now I’m selling the legion go to get a steam deck oled. The legion go is far better in terms of screen size and performance but the fan noise, low battery life, and sound quality was really poor.

On day one the charger broke..... wont charge.... ummmm 😅

If the bezels were gone and it was all screen, I would have zero complaints about the Rog Ally X. My eyes aren’t what they use to be, I need it just a tad bigger.

The Black Friday sale made it worth a pickup for me. Got a 4tb drive and will dual boot Bazzite and Windows. Looking forward to trying it today, battery life is super important to me, although touchpads would have made this a dream device.

800 mbps is INSANE. I just got my internet upgraded and I'm at around 100-150 and to me that is a gamechanger. I used to he at about 15-20. 800+ to me, is unheard of. I hope this is only because he was moving and not downloading. Someone let me know

I don't get why ppl keep comparing rog ally or legion go to a fucking switch. Ally is a computer while switch is a console. Completely different technology, games and software.

Thank you so much thanks to you I was able to overcome my fear of failure that I got from bad experience with bluetooth controllers in the past and thus buying controllers in general (I now have spent about 50 euros on the controller and 22 on the cable but now it works, I can play from my bed and I am happy. (I am not going to purchase a bluetooth device). Thank you so much for having created this simple video. I was always a PC player. Now for the first time I got my very own XBOX controller, a XBOX Velocity Green controller. I like the color, it is something I never owned before. Before, I had a controller from "Thrustmaster", a more old fashioned controller that suited its purpose VERY well 10 years ago but now has its rubber handle super sticky because I cleaned it with dish wasing soap (do not wash your rubber with dish washing soap, it will make the rubber VERY sticky). Thank you Max Dendy, you saved my gaming experience. 💚

To me by far biggest issue is the tiny screen. Especially as someone coming from the legion go and I have used the portal in past the 7 inches just feels sooo small. If they could have given us an 8-9 screen it be perfect

I just ordered one, as £399 in UK that's half price of Ally X, ive got LeGo, its too darn heavy, so at this price will risk it.

But since Ally X has 2 usb ports I think it could use one for a dock and the second for usb-to-displayport straight to Monitor to use VRR

I had the steam deck and I sold it 2 months ago good device really just certain games I wanted to play but couldn’t I even down load windows it just ran jankey n. Slow now I have the rog z1 non extreme my biggest issue is the battery life I usually play it on a dock but sometimes I wanna laydown on bed in get some gaming in but the battery sucks and it has a thick layer of software just to get a game started next yr I may get the rog x hopefully it will mush lower in price until then I’ll use a Anker 12k mah battery

This is not comparable to Steam Deck. The comparison is unfair. Steam Deck realistically is only for games. This is more like a gaming laptop in handheld form. It replaces your desktop, laptop and tablet. Most of its inconveniences are Windows flaws, not the device. If you dont need Windows, get Steam Deck. If you want to use Windows, this device is freaking awesome. I got it for 350 second hand with warranty, and for that money I have a desktop, a laptop, a tablet and a handheld. Insane bargain. Less than half of what a smartphone costs.

BTW, I think you can play 360 games on Xbox One through remote play cause I recently played BO2 (Black Ops 2) with a PS5 controller but I could be misremembering so take my info with a grain of salt

ROG Ally OR SD OLED?

Tbh i'd pick the Legion Go over it aswell just because of the bigger screen,but i got a 380$ deal for the Z1 Extreme Ally brand new and i went with that instead. Considering it's not gonna be my main gaming machine it's probably gonna do well for me. I mostly just wanted to have and play around with one of those handheld pcs but i didn't feel like spending 600$+ on one either
