AS We've already seen what a deathleaper does when it's successful, what happens when its opperation gets tanked? Lictors have always been one of my favorite tyranid models. If I ever buy anything tyranid again, it'll be a group of lictors first. Great story Brother Baldermort. You always do our favorite lore justice.
so ive watched all the lore channels out there and i can say ive never seen any with your energy and way to tell a story. you have became my favorite lore teller by a large margin. keep up the great work and if anything gimmie more ork videos! thanks!
Thank you! I had a similar problem when I ran a Nid army. I had two lictors and although they could get the jump on someone, they would soon get wiped out (playing space wolves mostly). The only success I've noticed is to focus your army on deep striking. Have trygons and tyrannocytes ready to swamp the board on turn two. The drawback is that all those bugs take up space and a well screened army will limit placement, that's where a lictor can work, 9" away? Just a tiny back corner left open? Perfect spot, granted they will get shot to pieces usually and at the end of the day, you can buy so many more termagaunts for the points. That being said, their short lives have an advantage, they have a terrifying effect on the opponent. Seeing a lictor pop up in the backfield can be unnerving and they usually become a priority target, soaking up shots that could have gone elsewhere, they serve their psychological purpose and it is fun to watch your opponent react to them. Sadly, it can be a pricey distraction, but cheap if you're trying to fill a slot to complete a brigade detachment.
AS I mostly cast this vote because I believe it would be the most challenging to write. I do this, not for your torture, dear brother, but as a fan of your work. Watching your vids since 4 a.m., leave to run an errand, then you upload this. Get out of my head!!! Or rather, stay in there... I'm loving your work!
AS A Vindicare is sent to "deal" with the steadily becoming ineffective Arch Duke, but in the assassin's time observing his target, he learns of the governor's plight and the sacrifice being endured by the Arch Duke. The Vindicare waits until night observing the governor's chambers when the Lictor enters...does the Vindicare end the Lictor, the Arch Duke, or both?
DP The governor snaps knowing the routine of the lictor and to save his people he draws the lictor in and takes his life to end the filthy xenos with a grenade
AS The archduke gets in contact with Inquisition/Death Watch and they ambush the Xenos scum...or...maybe send an assassin to kill the assassin... I don't think you've done death watch or the ordo of assassins so this would work nicely
AS I'd love to see him saved but by Trayzn the Infinite just coming along to expand his Tyranid collection, and leaves the Archduke with more questions then answers~
AS In comes the Deathwatch.... After listening to the White scars one I'm keen on seeing the tiny glitters of hope among all the grimdarkness. A fine one once again!
AS Brother! I was thinking maybe a callidus assassin, blood Angels scout squad or even a squad of howling banshees. Ya know, sent because the dude knows what hes doing and protects his people. Good leader, eldar want to keep their carrier secure.

AS I love these narratives you do the White Scars one had me listening to it i would love to hear a Mechanicus Tech-Priest one eventually thanks for the great videos.
AS sort of, as I was imagining it, he saves himself by making a deal with Tzeentch while in a drug induced state. A psychic explosion rips the tyranid apart, but leaves the archduke with a brand on his chest in the shape of Tzeentch’s symbol. Or another possibility is that one his advisors turns out to be an agent of the alpha legion, the next night an Alpha legionnaire slays the lictor in return for some reward.
AS Also I don’t know if you know this, but there is a way to put a poll on a video, the poll then gives you the percentage results of the options. Hopefully you can save some time that way
DP to many happy endings as of late, personally I would prefer a little more grimdark, thats just me though. Could go even harsher too, and describe it as a cowards way out, since the lictor will just haunt the next one in line, rather than a noble sacrifice
AS It is always sad when a subject loyal to the Man Emperor of mankind dies, as well as the world he/she lived on. As an aspirant of the XVIIIth legion and with the teachings of Vulkan, I always wish for life and its safeguarding, no matter how small, no matter how weak, no matter the cost. I also wished to convey my gratitude to our great narrator as he has once again blew (at the very least) my expectations, as I always have some hard time reading w40k. Trying to grasp its grim-dark tone and to really read what the author imagined whiled writing those amazing stories. Thanks once again Baldermort for giving me and this community such an enjoyable time. Good luck for the future and may the Emperor Protect. DEATHFIRE!
AS You and your 7am downloads lol Well, it's a good thing for those of us at work already lol nothing as good as coffee, Baldermort and a few network cables lol It's not even a question whether it's good. I don't need to watch all of it to know it's good. You've already set the standard itself.
AS. He is saved by no other than a Genestealer cult and is slowly turned into a hybrid, and slowly he can feel the harmony of the hive mind and fear turns to zealous worship and adoration of the Tyranid form, now sees the lictor as an angel of deliverance.
AS Because I think it is the more interesting way. The other two are just "Yeah, he dies". I'm curious, what you may come up with. ^^ Also i feel pity for this good man. ^^ Edit: And it is somewhat unlikely, that the people around him doesn't realize the killed servants and the mental downfall of their leader. They must have taken actions, to save the man, who is willing to endure this horror, to protect them. 40k is not just grimdark, it is also about heroism and to overcome horrors, others may not even be able to imagine. This is the true intention of grimdarkness, in my opinion: To survive against all odds. Maybe sometimes as a species, for the selfless sacrifice of individuals, but also as individual, which had no hope anymore. Let this man live and let him grow on the experience. As he knows, the Tyranids are on the doorsteps, he will prepare... and await them. With the grim determination they have awoken in him and the dark hate for the enemies of his people.
AS I love the small, little, good hearted stories in Warhammer40k. There is so much grimdark in it, every good ending is a light akin to the Astronomicon.
AS He prepares himself to die but nearing the end he decides to fight, his human nature and intuition isn't fully grasped by the Xeno scum, thus leading to its defeat/death. A bit of punishment for seeing the duke as prey rather than an actual adversary. This implies that the Lictor is expecting it to act as prey would, either panicking, fighting in vain, or fleeing. Use the Duke's smarts to win the day. P.S- I genuinely look forward to your videos, Love your work Mr. Baldermort!
It wasn't trying to kill him because it knew his death would make him a Martyr and brings further resolve to his people to fight. It was trying to demoralise his people by driving him insane. I think that's what stayed it's hand rather than underestimating him as an ordinary prey.
AS - one of the orders the Governor unknowingly signed off on was to request the =I= Inquisition's assistance. Luckily for him, unlike what all of his peers feared, a full Purge of the planet, The Ordos Xenos decided to send in a Squad of the Death Watch space marines to ascertain the scope of the situation
DL The Deathleaper is climbing on the ceiling over him to watch him pretend to sleep again, only that it accidentally slips and falls ontop of him, crushing him with its own body weight. I have to say, I am very, very much a fan of your channel. I'm a fan of Tyranids and I love the way you describe the horror of the Deathleaper and Genestealers in your videos. Thank you for making such great work
Who's to say he even recognises the Alpha Legion as traitor marines. They aren't rotting, covered in spikes, or trying to make sweet love to the lictor.
@@vashani That's a great question even through one big hydra symbol or tattoo could make it obvious. But I believe the "Alpharius thing" would be death giveaway. Gov: "Oh, Great hero of the Imperium, we wish to build you a statue to remember your great deed of saving this planet even possibly this planetary system. What is your's name which we should give to this Monument." SM: "Oh, We are just Alpharius." :-D - To them mentioned as "loyal" I mostly meant, that at least part of the Alpha legion still are loyal to the idea of Imperium rather than loyal to the Emperor of Mankind and they act accordingly. At least I remember that I read something like that. Thank you for your's truthful coment ;)
@@MichalHejda I could see it breaking down into less of a statues and parades scenario and more of a "you can thank us by helping us bolster our ranks" and quietly using the planet as a source for new Legionnaires.

to many happy endings as of late, personally I would prefer a little more grimdark, thats just me though. Could go even harsher too, and describe it as a cowards way out, since the lictor will just haunt the next one in line, rather than a noble sacrifice
AS
It is always sad when a subject loyal to the Man Emperor of mankind dies, as well as the world he/she lived on.
DEATHFIRE!

The governor gets a message out to summon aid. Too late, the Lichter realizes and hollows out the governor in it's wrath.

God damn Baldermort, you never disappoint
AS
You and your 7am downloads lol Well, it's a good thing for those of us at work already lol nothing as good as coffee, Baldermort and a few network cables lol It's not even a question whether it's good.
When Tyrant Guard came out they said that was the xenomorph that utilized space marine genes. Cuz armor I guess?

Couldn't a governor contact the inquisition? Ordo xenos could probably help.
Marcus Jr that’s the last thing you want
Lord Admiral Spire it’s for other reasons you don’t want to contact the inquisition
Another brilliant 40k presentation by Brother Baldermort.
AS- His Adeptas Sororitas lover throws the covers off to reveal herself in full battleplate, and blows it's head off.
p.s. this is a joke
She staked this bedroom out in hope of Genestealers. A lictor is just disappointing.
AS
Just wanted to say that Im not sure I would still be alive without finding your channel. Thank you very much Brother.
FOR THE EMPEROR!
AS
Because I think it is the more interesting way. The other two are just "Yeah, he dies".
I'm curious, what you may come up with. ^^
Also i feel pity for this good man. ^^
Edit:
And it is somewhat unlikely, that the people around him doesn't realize the killed servants and the mental downfall of their leader.
They must have taken actions, to save the man, who is willing to endure this horror, to protect them.
40k is not just grimdark, it is also about heroism and to overcome horrors, others may not even be able to imagine.
This is the true intention of grimdarkness, in my opinion:
To survive against all odds.
Well said
@@darkmagn thank you :)

I love the small, little, good hearted stories in Warhammer40k. There is so much grimdark in it, every good ending is a light akin to the Astronomicon.
AS
He prepares himself to die but nearing the end he decides to fight, his human nature and intuition isn't fully grasped by the Xeno scum, thus leading to its defeat/death.
DP just so I can giggle like a little girl.
DL
The Deathleaper is climbing on the ceiling over him to watch him pretend to sleep again, only that it accidentally slips and falls ontop of him, crushing him with its own body weight.
I have to say, I am very, very much a fan of your channel. I'm a fan of Tyranids and I love the way you describe the horror of the Deathleaper and Genestealers in your videos. Thank you for making such great work
AS - saved by "loyal" part of Alpha Legion for no one knows what they are up to.
What you said at the end really helped me. I like playing nids in BFGA2 they are...difficult to use. I was encouraged and reminded to keep my mind open. Thank you tbh I’d just about given up.
