@@baldermort See....you made me think of a good question! The Tau..are they improving fast enough to be anything other than a galactic footnote? I know underestimating anyone in 40k is an invitation to death , but, compared to say the imperium, or the orks, or the eldar or obviously the tyranids..how can they BE a credible threat? Sure they are advanced in theory, but still..is not enough, i don't see them going very far as a CREDIBLE threat, honestly. anyone else thinks so too? Wanting to spark a little bit of a discussion here.

Bows and arrows to ... rail guns. In a very short time indeed. If the galactic powers ignore them, if they change their culture to permit a population increase via cloning it jnvitro, then they are a danger. It only takes a few nudges to make them a credible threat.
But at the moment, it’s looking like the nids eat everything. :)
I love how Brother Balders has woven this story about a chapter that's forever accused of being bland and inoffensive, into the captain hook of the grim darkness of the far future.

‘As Dante ran into this smoke his armour let out a shrill warning. The tiny sporelings attacked his battleplate, eating into the banded metal of the joints and the soft seals beneath. Where his skin was exposed by broken plate it blistered under the effects of toxin and acid. He did not feel it. The fog muted all sound. He could see no further than a few yards. Dark shapes grappled in its depths, edges of chitin or ceramite illuminated by weapons fire. The flaming, silent warriors of the damned Legion fought on unaffected, but they drew away from him, lighthouses in the fog, leaving Dante to his fate. He knew in his soul he must fight this battle alone. A blind tyrant guard emerged from the coiling false smoke. It was huge, and hunched, bent over its short, heavy claws. Dante engaged his jump pack instinctively, roaring out of the way of its attack, and up over its eyeless head. The Axe Mortalis sparkled with the death of a hundred thousand tyranid spores as it cleaved down, caving the thing’s head in. A shot from the perdition pistol burned out its internal organs and sent it crashing down. A golden glow led Dante on. The snarls and howls of his warriors were barely more human than the hissing chitters and roars of the tyranids. His flesh burned, his superhuman physiology unable to keep pace with the damage inflicted by the miniscule creatures eating into his body. The sensation barely registered. Pain that would have incapacitated a normal man, even a Space Marine, was a dim, meaningless throb to him. More of the blind giants emerged from the fog, moving with increasing surety of purpose as the sluggish hive mind reacted to the threat. Space Marines came in from every direction, screaming for blood and death, crashing into the guardians of the swarm’s leader. Dante shot another of the tyrant guard, wounding it, and slipped by. As it staggered about to follow him, three sons of Sanguinius in blackened armour charged at it. One was scissored in half by the beast. A fire-wreathed warrior with pallid skin moved in to engage the creature with his powerfist. Dante did not witness the end of the fight, he headed further into the killing smoke, seeking out the leader beast. The reticle in his borrowed helmet strobed rapidly. He was close. Sounds of battle receded. He ascended a mound of intermingled tyranid and Imperial dead. The hive mind would consume them together. Autophagy was a part of its evolutionary strategy; its weapons were disposable, like the bolts in a Space Marine’s gun. The biomass of its warrior beasts would find new uses elsewhere…’ - Devastation of Baal, The siege of Arx Angelicum

When your foe's ships can grow soldiers to counter whatever forces they face, and can adapt within the course of a few hours to changes in their opposition by growing newer forces designed as a perfect counter, the only hope you have is to take out the ships and hope those on the world below starve before growing new ones. For how do you fight on a battlefield a foe that can bring monsters large enough to crush tanks, as well as small enough to go through air filters and eat you from within?

One of my favorite creatures among the Tyranids. Glad to see them given an excellent story to show their real worth. Now if only they could manage to digest some necrodermis properly and up their resilience even further.
The terrifying thing is, they just might be able to. The Cult of the Rusted Claw Genestealers have micro organisms that can eat metal.
@@randomcenturion7264 Ah yes, the truest bane of any forge world or mining planet. I can't remember where I saw it, but I remember one of the big and really noteworthy changes to the Hive Mind's operation was its increasing ability to consume refined metals and therefore having to spend less time mining the crust of worlds it captured - which in turn sped up their ability to move off from one world onto the next a lot faster than the first hive fleets were capable of doing. The real hurdle for utilizing necrodermis is the amount of energy in breaking down and reforming something so resilient - the Kroot found out the hard way what happens when you don't digest necrodermis properly.
Osiris Mortalitas I believe that's from a quote of one of the Baal books.
Abundance Tersius mentions are like those little stingers at the end of Marvel movies, the hype grows!
Makes one shudder to think what would be the results if the Tyranids were to acquire the Gene-seed from a Primaris marine, Since the Tyrant Guard strain were developed from regular astartes using their gene-seed , what would they do with the augmentations of Belisarius Cawl's handiwork
I am amazed the Tyranids are not mutating more frequently from integrating defeated worlds at all. From the Eldar they could get even more potent psychic abilities, precision and enhance the Shadow in the Warp. From the Orks they would get Waaagh energy, rapid multiplication and the ability to increase efficiency with numbers. From the Tau they would get better DNA incorporation (Kroot) and mind manipulation (Ethereals) abilities for gene stealer cults. From custodes they could get a boost across the board.
In theory nothing but plot handwaiving stops them from steamrolling the galaxy once a major species' DNA is incorporated. They are a highly adaptable, moving ecosystem, in theory they are the apex predators in the galactic stage. In practice they tend not to advance their own plotline much.
KaiserAfini yeah you'd think nids would get constant model releases with their adaption but no haven't had one since 2014. Also the constant plot armour they fight against is infuriating

Yet another impressive tale Sir. The Tyranids are a terrifying foe, and motivation to engulf and devour all in their path is surely one of the most disturbing motivations for any enemy...
Your ability to capture the essence of whatever unit, character or piece of kit in your short stories is phenomenal! But your true strength might be the care with which you portray the opponents and enemies of whatever faction is in the "spotlight" of the piece.
Be having the marines fight in a borderline smarter fashion then most GW authors would, you further elevates the faction in the spotlight, by showing them overcoming truely worthy opponents.
That balance is SO refreshing!
PS. When The silent King busts out the C'tan-shattering superweapons, the Tyranids will realise, that they came to the wrong Galaxy!

Thank you for making these amazing videos and stories where the lesser known units get to shine! I’ve been playing Tyranids for a couple of years and the tyrant guard are my favorite unit in the army from an aesthetic point of view.
Thank you brother! I built hive guard as I wanted the non line of sight artillery to surprise people. But I soooo want tyrant guard now. I agree, they are some amazing figures and so strong an image. Next year perhaps. But I now need some. Lol. ;).
I’ve made a group of 3 hive guard as well which they are super useful. A fun trick is to use them as surprise snipers to hit enemy characters with those heavy duty harpoon guns that don’t have friendlies within the three inches of that feel safe hidden behind buildings. 😂
