Sir having first heard of 40K a couple of years ago I had little interest in it, until a few weeks ago and I discovered your videos. I find that your description of the eternal war against the darkness quite interesting, and now I have been following your stories more closely, keep up the great work 👍
This is an epic video! I just discovered you yesterday, but so far this has definitely been my favorite. I would love to hear more stuff about the tyranids and orks.
I think of the Tyranhid fleets as herds of super organisms. Like each individual Tyrhanid is more or less comparable to the cells in our own bodies and other microorganisms in our bodies. Except the Tyrhanid ships are much more complex. After all the drones don’t really think much of their own survival and really only think about self preservation when their hosts are gone. Maybe this naturally evolved or maybe it’s more like early life on Earth where a planet had psionic life and they just subsumed into one complex system
Congratulations my friend- you did it - 1000 subscribers- its happening fast- Yourself and Mrs B make a good team. I've been a strong encourager from the start because I knew from first viewing you have a real something to offer with your passion and flair. As greedy for models as you and I may be- rather than acquire the Rogal Dorn model as fast as I can, and the supplies required for it- I imagine you might like a hand with acquiring your new microphone first- I would like to help you with that as I can- so send me a message on Patreon for where to send my Canadian dollars, and I will contribute towards it as I can manage. I don't make videos myself, but I know what a good tool can do for one's confidence and sense of accomplishment, when one can better create something an increment closer to their vision. I may appear desperate to be your greatest fan, but I hope my enthusiasm as a viewer reminds you of your own advice. I know you want to operate at a high level- which you do now and certainly will do even more so in the future- but remember to have fun yourself, and enjoy what you tackle.
Dear Dana, please don't worry. I am working hard, but it is also fun and very life affirming. Especially with the great community of like-minded fans of warhammer we are all collecting. I don't see the fan thing myself. I think of myself as just the mouthpiece, as I've stated in my previous updates. Primus inter paris (first among equals) at the very most. I learn as much from some comments from other 'equals' as I project to a newbie and always admit that I know no more than most veterans, I just have a particular way of projecting it that is perhaps a bit more easy to consume and a bit more bracing for when the painting is getting long. I just thought that Lore does not have to be boring. It can be fun! The greed element. Yes, the figure greed is my greatest weakness. But I honestly did not think about the Dorn figure because I do not go on Forgeworld. I banned myself from the site about 3 years ago. Envy is a poison and I banned myself for good reason. So, in my defence, I was thinking a gold Tor Gadon or Roboute at the very maximum. But its sooo far. I am a bit of an old fuddy duddy so I forget that I am talking to the entire world. I will know that people are from great countries across the globe, but I never actually really and totally 'get it' in my heart. I forgot thanksgiving and was worried about a regular gentle listener, thinking they may be ill or stressed, instead of basking in the light of kith and kin on a national holiday. Something I will definitely have to work on. lol. But please do not do that, as it is so astonishingly far away. If you are a painter, I would adore a few of your army group shots to be able to put up on the Facebook page (as I am still working out other formats. ) Now that would be an awesome sign of appreciation of my work, where I could show a reciprocal appreciation of your work! You are already a patron, so please don't worry. I find your advice, discourse and vision to be intensely rewarding and could not ask for more. I did get a new microphone, due to a donation from a listener, but its like going from an abacus to a PC. I have a sound tech friend coming over next week to help me work it out a bit better, then we should see even better sound quality and perhaps a bit more diversity as I work out how to do more with my voice and the microphone. I've done lots of phone work, but never voice work, so its a steep learning curve again, but one that is fun - in the end. :) As always, thank you for listening but, more importantly, thank you for the colossal support, the camaraderie and the incisive and wise advice. I am now happier than I have been in many decades simply because of you and other gentle listeners having a pow-wow with me on this site. Its just life changing being able to discuss that which I love so much and being able to give a little back to the community by just taking a bit of time and lots of effort to get out something that we can all be proud of and perhaps, just perhaps, offer a bit of help to a new player in navigating and understanding this phenomenal universe we all exist in when we have the time. Thank you for everything, my friend. Hopefully, we can only go up from this point. :) And the Sanguinala approaches. It should be a great time to get out some more obscure lore as a change of pace. I sincerely hope you like it, but do - for the love of god - guide me if I err. :)

I a gentle listener, you a humble maker- Congratulations on the microphone- if you think the idea is fun of course, I'd love to hear your take on how a human struggles to survive, falls into, and ascends in the underhive- if you ever get the chance or desire.
He merely postponed the inevitable. [..] You can't outrun them, you can't destroy them. If you damage them, the essence of what they are remains. They regenerate and keep coming. Eventually you will weaken. Your reserves will be gone. They are relentless! [..] Tyranids will eventually find way, through Shadow in the Warp, to disrupt Orc technology. They will - if they choose to do so - addopt to similar reproduction. They have numbers and patience, and insight to continue chipping at Orcs bit by bit, denying Orcs findal battle, dispersing them, diminishing their synergy...
I'm not sure about the legality of that, or I would make an attempt at it. I will look into it. But I think GW may get a bit unhappy with me. I don't wish to wake the dragon. :(
OpticalArxenal they like people to live near Nottingham. I ain’t moving. :). Also, their interviews are the most weird experience you will ever have. Funny lot. :). I’ll stick to light entertainment. If you guys are viewing/listening I hope it’ll be ok. Also this way I get to do what i think is fun. Not do what I’m told to do. Know what I mean? :).
You would think that, Orks having pretty much all of their powerful traits literally encoded into their genetics rather than through cultural transmission, that once the nids have devoured a few, they should become basically unstoppable, acquiring the ability to create WAAGH fields like the Orks
Honestly, I'm still wondering what the Tyranids can evolve after eating space marine genetic enhancements, and even primarch DNA if they could get it. Tyranid Prime? Primanid? The supremely evolved being? Idk.
Orks vs Tryrranids sounds like a win-win for the Imperium but you have to think that they knew whichever xenos came out as the victors would be stronger from the conflict.
I think it would be interesting if a rogue megas of the Adeptus Mechanicum rediscovered a crude approximation of the Men of Irin to fight the Tyranids whilst denying them the biomass offered by organic foes.
Rules change. Get the models you like the look of mostly. The hordes can be a lot of fun, but prepare for hatch painting. Nid is more a way of thinking than a way of playing? Even if you lose, the biomass is still ok that planet. You’ll get it next time! The rest depends on play style, local meta and funds. But don’t ignore the little guys. They can be a LOT of fun. :).
Question: can cyclone torpedoes not be used on the hive flag ships directly? Could they not be modified to work in space? The tyranids are certainly better dealt with in a hard vacuum than planet side.
You really should look into doing voice work. Radio, audiobooks, voiceovers, etc, whatever. You would be a brilliant lecturer. Its such brilliant oration. Not too exaggerated. Just a good voice that carries it. You tell it like it's established history, and you not only believe it, but are moved by it. Bit gushy, sorry. Keep it up though. P.s. Should definitely try using your voice to get yourself some fame. I really think you could. I genuinely thought you were John Hurt at first.
The time to attack the tyranids is when they're traveling between stars. At that time they're all concentrated in hive ships and would be destroyed in bulk. Maybe the Imperium ships not good at doing that? I suppose it's hard to warp jump to a precise point in interstellar space and in real space it would take too long or use too much fuel
The fact leviathan made it to solar makes me wonder did they devour octaruius has there been any news out of there since the imperium tried to enclose it
@@baldermorti love the idea that the hive mind has taken all losses and wins from octarius and is now creating more evolved creatures ( the von ryans, norn assim/emissary,Barb gaunts) either that or it’s just the fact the galaxy is no longer just fighting the scouts,,,after nearly 3 decades since inception.
Have the Tyranids ever faced the Dark Gods of Chaos and successfully consumed a demon from the Warp? If they incorporate the DNA of races consumed by them, what would they create?
Thanks Bostyt. Sorry its been a while. I am hoping to get in front of my schedule and get more out for Nids. Love em. Star Ship troopers viewings for the win!. :)

Question.. Since the Imperium is able to destroy worlds with Cyclonic Torpedoes and Massed Nukes why dont they just direct those weapons at an enemy fleet like the Tyranids and wipe their ships out en mass ??
Resources, basically. A cyclonic torpedo is rare. Very. Hitting one ship in a hive fleet would kill it utterly, but it would only take one smaller support ship to get in its way and its a waste of a very rare resource. Also, they do use massed nukes on the nids. But the hive fleets are almost unfathomably large. :) Space is huge. If the imperium hit the hive too many times like that they would just scatter and attack from every angle. It is what it is really. : )
That a fair and true point about space being huge and that even if a nuke has a blast radius of 30 miles that might be the distance between ships.. So you might only kill 1 ship per nuke.. I just think of the Nids as massing their ships almost on top of each other so that they would be more vulnerable to "splash" damage. I would imagine sending a Cyclonic Torpedo into the heart of a hive fleet would cause massive damage to the fleet but it might be a 1 trick deal as the hive fleet would adapt and learn.. As always great video, your doing great things with this lore.. And sometimes even though ive been into 40k for over 15 years I still forget about the sheer scale of how big the vessels get and the fleets
As a man who plays Battlefleet Gothic the space 40k game you need to understand that shooting at a Tyranid bio-vessel is like shooting at a fly. They can 180 on a dime because they are basically fish swimming in space so in the game you can literally move an entire fleet of Tyranid ships so they miss all torpedo shots. Also this means you can just throw a small ship into the missles or into another ship to just to stop them
Random Tyranid gut-sucker: 'Ssso, now we move to humessssspaccce. Feasssst on humesss and be one with them.' Random Tyranid gut-sucker slightly to the left: 'YEH! From memory of the older Tyranid codex. The imperium does not want to risk the Tyranids absorbing the virus into themselves and evolve their own strain of world-ending virus.
@@deeriojimwat5565 One half that, one half Tyranids pretty quickly become immune to bioweapons. Generally, you want to save them for when they matter most, because it will never work again.
Who can stop the Tyrannids? they seem too OP. Necrons would be the ideal enemy since they can't be absorbed and their biomass used. They can't make new troops though, should the Tyrannids destroy the Necrons with their overwhelming numbers the Necrons won't be able to get re-inforcements.

It's amazing how much you have improved over time really good video enjoyed it well done
Liked and auto-subbed. Great video on my favourite faction. Now to watch more and learn the weaknesses of the filthy lesser races.
Thank you for listening, brother - I hope the other entries are useful. :)
Yea bro I was getting bored with 4k and now you made it a lil more interesting with your style.
Anyone can get fatigue. But it is great to come back to when you are ready. :)
Luetin is my favorite lore explainer, OMS presents the most interesting facts, Baldermort reads the best stories in the best ways.
Major kill makes me laugh.
This is an epic video! I just discovered you yesterday, but so far this has definitely been my favorite. I would love to hear more stuff about the tyranids and orks.
“Chomp, chomp, scrape, scratch. Skitter, hiss, spit, growl.”
"Shoot, smash, chop, stomp" and just when you think its over. "Mame, Kill, Burn!!! Mame, Kill, Burn!!!"
i like hive fleet behemoth because of it's red underside/ black carapace color scheme.
Your voice is perfect for any cinematic intro, damn!
This was brilliant. Thank you.
As always, thank you for listening but, more importantly, thank you for the colossal support, the camaraderie and the incisive and wise advice.
And the Sanguinala approaches. It should be a great time to get out some more obscure lore as a change of pace. I sincerely hope you like it, but do - for the love of god - guide me if I err. :)
@@baldermort Camaraderie is key. It may be a while- but 'll get you that Dorn someway somehow- I hop to have it to you before you hit 43K- i appreciate the life affirming arc, and hope to give you a trinket of your pursuit. Stop downplaying in the modest direction of simplicity or inferiority you preface yourself with given the pleasure you offer through the content you make. Although i acknowledge as a root instinct, it may be a part of your charm. I a gentle listener, you a humble maker- Congratulations on the microphone- if you think the idea is fun of course, I'd love to hear your take on how a human struggles to survive, falls into, and ascends in the underhive- if you ever get the chance or desire.
A Swarm that wins through brutal trial, error and improvement.
Kryptman did nothing wrong !
Bjorn Almgren he did Everything right!! IMHO.
Having the tyranids and orks fight was objectivity the wrong move
Kryptman unlocked a rare Achievement, and thus pissed off all the other Inquisitors

Best lore channel on RUclips, subbed!
For starters. Big guns are waaay better. But thank you for listening and being so kind, broter Sev3n, :)
According to fresh lore, Ghazghkull showed up on Octarius and won the war, and is ready to unleash the super-orks created by the battle on the galaxy.
You have yourself a new subscriber. Quality content.
Many thanks JJ. I hope it only gets better. :) Thanks for subscribing. It means a lot. Thank you!
Uniquely one of the only Hive Fleets that arrived in the galaxy from below.
yay! 1000 subscribers!!!
All due to support from you and the rest of the community here. I am one lucky Baldy to have you and the rest along. Thank you!!!!
+70k in 11 months! Beautiful. Keep going!
In the Grim dark of the far future a horde of giant space bugs beat a horde of space orcs by blue balling them.
Imagine a hive fleet that can now harness Waaagg energy 🤔
You should voice entire audiobooks. I'd pay for it.
I'm not sure about the legality of that, or I would make an attempt at it. I will look into it. But I think GW may get a bit unhappy with me. I don't wish to wake the dragon. :(
@@baldermort Make them hire you! :D
@@baldermort Yeah I understand, entirely fair. Gotta do what you enjoy, and either way, your narration is gold.
OpticalArxenal thanks for understanding, Optical. It is appreciated. :).
You would think that, Orks having pretty much all of their powerful traits literally encoded into their genetics rather than through cultural transmission, that once the nids have devoured a few, they should become basically unstoppable, acquiring the ability to create WAAGH fields like the Orks
Maybe they haven’t reached any Ork yet ? Idk if they did yet; Or maybe we don’t know where they did that
@@nicholasleclerc1583 .....
@@nicholasleclerc1583 did you even watch the video?
Can’t wait to see how they handle the orks vs the tyrinids. Whomever wins will be a super species.
A thing of nightmares in a galaxy of war......
That flotilla do be eating good ork pizza at the Octarius sector
"The only good bug, is a dead bug"
Great story! Love the Nids but Orks will always be Da Biggest n Da Baddest
I think it would be interesting if a rogue megas of the Adeptus Mechanicum rediscovered a crude approximation of the Men of Irin to fight the Tyranids whilst denying them the biomass offered by organic foes.
they'd need an uncorrupt STC for that. who you know, don't exist anymore.
Yes! Need more Xeno vs Xeno action.
The biggest threat, that fucking hive!!!
Good stuff mate
Thanks boss. :)
So, Orks are the only race to not be affected by the Tyranids' shadow in the warp ability blocking Psykers?
Interesting
the shadow in the warp is a terrifying presence. and for an ork it's a **PROPA FIGHTA!!!**
Whoever wins, everyone else loses.
I love your voice dude holy shit
I love a good tyranid video.
A great listen as always.
Cheers, Stevo. :)
Love your voice! Starting a leviathan army. Any pointers?
Rules change. Get the models you like the look of mostly. The hordes can be a lot of fun, but prepare for hatch painting.
Nid is more a way of thinking than a way of playing? Even if you lose, the biomass is still ok that planet. You’ll get it next time!
The rest depends on play style, local meta and funds. But don’t ignore the little guys. They can be a LOT of fun. :).
Wonder which Scify bio nightmare would be the strongest...40k Tyranids vs Halo Flood vs The Thing.
Question: can cyclone torpedoes not be used on the hive flag ships directly? Could they not be modified to work in space? The tyranids are certainly better dealt with in a hard vacuum than planet side.
They dodge torpedoes easily or move smaller ships to take the hit
I suppose it's hard to warp jump to a precise point in interstellar space and in real space it would take too long or use too much fuel
a hive fleet is more than 1 ship and it has a really strong pschycic presence.
The Orks will become Korks, and they will crump these bugs.
The fact leviathan made it to solar makes me wonder did they devour octaruius has there been any news out of there since the imperium tried to enclose it
Oh yes. They’ve been sending in Kill teams to knobble leaders. The war grinds on and the imperium is prolonging it as best they can. :)!

Cool... Really enjoyed it... 🤩
thank you for listening brother. :)
Necrons and Orcs need to tag team Hive fleets
Have the Tyranids ever faced the Dark Gods of Chaos and successfully consumed a demon from the Warp? If they incorporate the DNA of races consumed by them, what would they create?

@@baldermort Improve? Sir, you rival Luetin in quality! While there are many other WH lore channels, they all either have different quirks present in how they speak that make it so I can't listen to them for long or the subjects they talk about is stuff I've heard about plenty of times before or just doesn't interest me, while you seem to have it down so well that I can see you being hired as a narrator for a WH game. The only thing I can see you improving on is adding in Tables of Content similar to how Luetin does. Shouldn't be hard, all he does is present title cards without time stamps, so if you do both that'd help a lot.

Chris Coulson ouch. I’ll try. But I won’t release if it’s not good enough. Deal? I need to read more for that I think. Things have moved on a LOT for Dante recently. I’m a bit nervous. :).
Baldermort's Guide to Warhammer I can only imagine. I just finished Dante and Devestation and it’s a lot. Don’t feel rushed or that you need to get on it soon. Just know I’ll be very excited for it

Aren't the Necrons the almost perfect counter to the Tyranids?
doesn't mean they can't get wrecked by nids. but yeah, they'll try to avoid them
What if the Imperium used Missiles with Virus Bomb warheads against large Tyranid "ships" in deep space?
From memory of the older Tyranid codex. The imperium does not want to risk the Tyranids absorbing the virus into themselves and evolve their own strain of world-ending virus.
@@deeriojimwat5565
One half that, one half Tyranids pretty quickly become immune to bioweapons. Generally, you want to save them for when they matter most, because it will never work again.
Who can stop the Tyrannids? they seem too OP. Necrons would be the ideal enemy since they can't be absorbed and their biomass used. They can't make new troops though, should the Tyrannids destroy the Necrons with their overwhelming numbers the Necrons won't be able to get re-inforcements.
actually, some necrons "scientist" have developed some form of automate that can be used as new soldiers I think they're named cryptothrall
