    Tesla charges a $1390 destination fee on all new purchases, so your numbers are a bit misleading. There is no way to avoid the destination fee so you should might as well add it to the total price. You also completely omitted sales tax, which is calculated BEFORE the federal tax credit deduction.

    I do remember mentioning to you mid last month about the reduced/absence of the MYP on Tesla’s existing inventory sheet. It’s been steadily decreasing since at least the first of the year, and now, unless it’s a demo, it’s almost impossible to find one in inventory. I am sure this is related to the impending Juniper refresh. One thing I haven’t seen yet is an offer from Tesla for $1000 off a new Model Y. I am a CyberTruck deposit holder but I haven’t received a text or email from them yet. Do you know when this got sent out? I received one last year but I believe it expired at the end of 2023. Great graphs.
    Clearly the Model Y in stock increasing has a lot to do with the new Highland/refreshed Model 3 taking away from it's sale. It's why the did not release the refreshed 3 in America until the start of the new year. And now consumers are also thinking of waiting for the Juniper Y. Which is why Tesla had to come out and say that it won't be out in 2024.
    So expect the Model Y to keep getting price drops throughout most of this year trying to entice buyers and undercutting the competition.

  • @gust9464

    Thanks for sharing this. I also find it strange why Tesla is holding back on the performance models Y’s. Do you think this is because project Juniper? 🤔 A few months ago they had a few in inventory, now I only see demo’s and then they get purchased quickly. Most have a 500- 4,500 miles. • @rusticroads
    @rusticroads 11 месяцев назад

    The $1,000 price drop is for deliveries before Feb 29, per Tesla's website, but a new car ordered today is estimated for delivery in either Feb or Mar. So, this is playing the delivery lottery as to whether you can get delivery this month to take advantage of the $1,000 discount?

    • @liam1902
      @liam1902 11 месяцев назад

      That's actually a really good point. I feel like Tesla would just assign an existing inventory vehicle to a custom order if it matches all the specs so that the delivery can be met ASAP but I'm not sure. Seems like it could just be a marketing tactic to scare people into buying by saying "$1k discount now and in March, prices will increase".

    Brother,
    Thx for another great detailed report! We are in an amazing time for moving to budget friendly super efficient Tesla's!
    My Model Y just celebrated her 2-yr anniversary and 46K miles! 😊
    I've only had to fill wiper fluid and rotate tires... HOWEVER, It was a REAL BUDGET BUSTER with my last MAJOR MAINTENANCE expense... I replaced my wiper blades. lol.

      No cabin air filter replacement or tires?

    • @erickessler6094
      @erickessler6094 11 месяцев назад

      @Trust_but_Verify True! Great question, Bro.
      - I purchased the cabin filter and cleaning kit. However, having seen a few comments about funny odors, I wanted to see how long it would take a garage kept Model Y to manifest an issue. There is no issue yet. 😀 But, this month being my 2-year anniversary, maybe I will do it at my next tire rotation. Given they hype, you may have also learned about the design changes related to the odor issue in the airbox area. My 2022 M-Y has those improvements. So far so good.
      - Brother, as a reliability & manufacturing engineer and sportscar lover, maintenance has always been something I do with great discipline and teach. Even my daughter will share my mantra: "Change Oil, Filter, & Rotate Tires on the "5's & 10's" ... meaning, every 5k miles. Tire pressure maintenance & rotation are such simple disciplines, unless you're careless, rich & don't care, or just like to waste money! So many people also spoke about wearing out Tesla tires in very few miles! This is because weight and torque will have a consequence! But I have NOT found that to be my case. Thus, care & discipline are key. My Model Y is the LR AWD version. And no one ever said I'm light on a throttle, but my M-Y was not my 911 track car replacement, and it's shared by my wife as well. We drive it as much as possible, business trips, & all long vacation trips, since it is just SO CHEAP to Drive! My PickUp is our other DAILY driver and used for towing our lil camper. All my vehicles are maintained with discipline, even if it only means washer fluid & tire rotations! 😀
      I hope that helps you and your Truth-Seeking!
      These are amazing cars. If you plan to take advantage of the stunning February pricing, be sure to use ANYONES Referral Code link!
      Mine is: ts.la/eric61357

      Eric

    So sick of this price action.. the brightest engineering minds have no fing idea how to market their products. Pricing ISNT the only lever that drives demand. These actions are devaluing the brand and will bite them in the a## with a different kind of consumer they are not ready for. Brace for impact as price shoppers become the bulk of Tesla owners. Once the network opens up, I’m out.

    Ya because the Y is the most dated car they sell now. Uncomfortable, loud,stiff. Overall a bad pick compared to the M3

    I wish instead of holding firesales to dump his oversupply of cars
    Elon would put the money into making them much nicer and keep the price the same and raise it
    Hello Elon...

      Also have interior and exterior color options. Tesla’s are so plain looking. Come on Elon, make your cars look better.

    Let's be Frank here no one wants to buy the model Y specially when Hertz are selling used model for 30k nowadays and that a long range 2022 with 40k miles 🙈. This is what happened when a company CEO is not focus on the company 🫣. Save yourself alot of money and just used only.

      @@minimalist0000 Then you dont understand how electric cars motor and battery works. This is not a gas engine that needed major tune ups at 40k Miles.

    Elon keeps on screwing current owner with this type of pricing strategy and leaves resentment to its once loyal base. This will not end well

      not a good feeling, but in the grand scheme of things, this is early tech, and prices will continue to come down over time.
