I've had a bit of a nightmare with my kona, the EML has been on for the better part of a year which was due to an exhaust pressure error code. my local dealer eventually (like 5 visits) thought they found the cause as a busted cat converter which meant the DFP was filling with soot, it was replaced under warrenty but within a week the light came back on. Taken the car to a another dealer and they think its the EGR leaking coolant into the exhaust, does this sound right to you?
Could potentially cause the issue yes, dpf pressure sensor, map sensor, maf sensor, exhaust temp sensors, egr and egr cooler, cat etc all link to the pressure fault. Just identifying which one is the cause
I’ve had the same issue with my Ioniq. I have taken the cat off, replaced exhaust pressure sensor and checked for other issues. I’m 99% sure it’s now the EGR cooler. Where are you based so I can bring my car to you and get this replaced?! I would take it out and clean it myself but for the awkward position of the cooler (Toyota are on the side of the engine and much easier to take out and clean) and not having the clearance under axle stands I need someone to do it. My local garages don’t want to touch it for some reason. They’re not used to hybrids I guess so they say. It’s too much work maybe for someone not familiar with a specific brand of car such as yourself. Hyundai want a fortune so if you’re out on your own now I would happily bring my car to you to replace my cooler - I’d prefer it cleaned but I understand in that moment because of time for you it would have to be replaced, which is fine. If you are available please let me know and I’ll book you in!
