I've been looking for this kind of video in German language. Couldn't find anything proper. I'm so happy i found your Video. Thanks a lot. You have a new follower now.
Man this is gold, I ve got an X1 2012, N47T and yesterday the connector/flange to the engine block and radiator blew up while driving..hence that cooling lichid is out of the way, gonna clean the egr and all ..nice vid man
Nice video mate.. what kind or screwdriver / tool did you use for the T30 when taking the screws of the valve? It's in an awkward tight position to get to..
I took off the EGR and cooler together, i undo the 2 bolts that connects them to each other, but i can not take them apart. I tried with a flat screwdriver to tap in between, but the screwdriver broke and the parts still dont come off. What to do?
Hi sir, thanks for the video it is so helpful. I have just one question regarding the soapy water cleaning part, isn’t it bad for the electronic parts to clean it with water? I just wonder if it can harm the egr or no. Thanks in advance :)
Hi. Yes as long as the electronic parts are covered with tape and the water doesn't get inside then the soapy water is the best way to clean the egr and egr cooler. Once cleaned then best to apply little oil spray on valve shaft or flaps for smooth opening and closing. Good luck and thanks for your support.
I was wondering, could you use Cilit bang oven cleaner on the egr valve, saw a video on uTube a few years ago and a guy used it on an Audi TT egr valve.
Could you tell me how do you remove the EGR valve connector harness (6:25)? Do you simply disconnect it by pulling or do you need to, somehow, unlock it using the white "locks" that are on it? I'm willing to remove my EGR valve in order to clean or replace it, but I'm not sure how to remove that harness correctly, without breaking it.
@@matthewbroe904 thanks for your answer. It seems really helpfull 😉 Unfortunately I've already managed to brak the lock down 😂 But surelly will remember to try to do it your way in the future 😅
I did this and lost around a litre and half of coolant topped it up and heard a stranger suction sound when I turned on ignition. Any ideas what this could be atall? car also stalled but then turned over and ran 2nd try
@@diykhan i have 4933, and after some time got 480A, 481A, 3F25, and finaly 4D00. Car goes to limp mode, but after 20-30 km driving, it goes off limp mode and drive just fine. Any suggestions ?
Yup, that’s why workshops stopped using Carb Cleaner, Brake cleaner and mineral spirits and switched to 50 gallon drums of Mr Muscle because it does everything except what its intentions was made for….
You helped me! yesterday I removed and cleaned egr valve & today I started the car (no eml on) and no fault codes! Ty 👌🏽

Really good video where did you get the replacement hose fitting clamps from for the coolant
I bought the clamps from our local auto parts shop. Thanks for your appreciation.
You should have put the new steel gasket on the left side near the manifold and the right side as well ???

Hello. What error code do you get that directs you that it's the EGR cooler, please? Thank you

will this help resolve fault codes p042e and p042f
Merci pour votre vidéo explicative. Travail bien expliqué en détail. Bonne continuation et merci encore une fois. Karim de Paris.
Thanks you for the video what would be the cost to pay someone to do this for me?. Same car….
It all depends on the individual mechanic. Going luck

Yes thats good too. Main purpose is to remove carbon off the components.
Not mentioned F20/F21 1 Series. Any particular reason?
I’m guessing emptying and then replacing with new coolant would be a good idea at the same time.
Depends on when it was changed last time
Good video. Dont you replace all the seals for xtra peace of mind?
Yes I did.
Thanks 😊
@@diykhan any idea of the part number or where to buy?
@@daviddorado5632 I have got mine from local auto parts shop. If the seal look ok then just reuse them.
Perfectly explained ty
Thanks
Thank U so much! Great video :)

thank you very, informative and helpful.

A si se limpia la EGR completa
What did you use to block the hole where the coolant would come out please?
I used a bolt to stop the coolant leaking.
Where is your garage sir?

There is a clip to press.
@DIY Khan can you advise which clip do you need to press?
Pull the white tab out a little, then press down on the white tab after extending. Connector should come out with a bit of wiggle.

The noise you heard was air having entered the coolant system when the egr cooler was disconnected. You really need to bleed the coolant lines.
Why don't you strengthen the bolts with a torque key>? Amateur style.
Did you have any error codes or other problems before cleaning egr valve ?
I had all these codes P14A3, P115C, P115D, P14A1, P0101, P042E, P042F and P245A.
