Aaliyah was struck down in her prime, as was Selena. They'd have gone on to have long successful careers, if not for their untimely deaths.😭💔

I was working in the SeaWorld marketing dept. The weekend Selena was killed. She was scheduled to do a concert there and had a lot of friends and family around San Antonio, so there was a lot of excitement, my co worker, Ray, was friends with Selena and Chris, her husband and they had planned to go out to dinner together after the concert. He was excitedly telling me about it when we got the news that she had been murdered. The look on Ray's face was heartbreaking...we couldn't believe it. There was just an awful sense of loss and waste and senselessness.
It was unreal. Adding to the awfulness, someone stole all the posters advertising the concert right out of the office. They were worth a fortune because of the tragedy and someone we worked with stole them. I never found out who it was, but it was so ugly, I never felt the same there after that and left in a few months. It was so awful. Ray never got over it..

Even though I had never heard of her until I saw the film in Spanish class at my freshman year in high school back in high school she INSTANTLY captured my heart and she has had a hold of it ever since. I still listen to her songs every now and then and I even got the autobiography written by Chris Perez on my Kindle. I blubbered like a baby when I saw her death at the end of the film and I normally do a good job at “holding back my tears” in public until I get home or until I’m completely alone. Only one month away from her 24th birthday, she really did leave way too soon!!! Also, it was written beautifully, with no judgement for the artists who passed away in less than ideal circumstances. Finally, what I really liked is that you didn't "rank" them.
