Kang the Conqueror is looking to be the new big bad of Loki, Ant-Man, and The Avengers as whole. Too bad he's a terrible villain...

I can't believe I have to clarify this, but this is not meant to be an objective analysis of the character, just my personal opinion.
If you like Kang, neat. There's nothing wrong with that. I also liked him when all I read were a couple of stories. After reading though a metric fuck ton of them, I found the character completely incomprehensible and not my cup of tea.
Hopefully the MCU will streamline the character and make him more enjoyable.
I like him
From Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes
Definitely MCU version is more enjoyable
Yeah, your lie is getting caught because you're facing a lot of backlash now and that's why you have to clarify this.
If it's your opinion, then of course you could have mentioned that in the title and thumbnail. Making some comment doesn't change the interpretation in the video. Probably 80% of the viewers won't even read the comment.
But No, RUclipsrs like you will find any way to milk content. Doesn't matter if the info is genuine (in most cases, it isn't).
Anything for views, eh.
@@pizzaparkerhotdogmaguire3225 why you so sour? Its not like its clickbait. I guarantee this aint your first time on the internet so what gives.

Oof man. Bet you're pretty pissed with the finale then eh?
Hope not though, Jonathan Majors' performance was amazing and I am very, VERY excited to see how they do Kang in the MCU as compared to the innumerable ways he's been done in the comics/other media.
My favorite moment in The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes is with Kang
Iron Man: Maybe Kang is right about this.
(Kang then grins)
Iron Man: But he's being a REAAAALL jerk about it
(The Avengers then jump him)
Also, looks like Drake already hates Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania lol
People think he'll be the main villain of Loki but it's obviously Ravonna. Edit: STOP REPLYING, I HEARD YOU PEOPLE THE FIRST MILLION TIMES!
Kang may not be an interesting villain, but in EMH he is great.
Earths mightiest heroes is a great show
Hehe. I should rewards that series, I enjoyed it.
funny that you mention EMH cuz i’m watching it as i type this comment right now
I’m starting to see why you hate his guts so much…He’s just as complicated as Hawkman and Hawkgirl, but does terrible things more.
Hawkgirl and Hawkman is a mess. Even in the DCAU it is. Well I guess Hawkman and hawkgirl arent really a romance in the dcau because she got with john stewart. But who knows
Watch Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. You will like that version of Kang as a good villain.
@@spencersholden yeah he was good in that. Heck he was even ok in the lego game that came out 3 years ago

And the Arrowverse versions were killed off basically as soon as they first appeared in the crossover that was the backdoor pilot for Legends of Tomorrow and they _never_ came back.
I thought Kang was great in "The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" he is like my favorite villian in the show
That’s because they used him sparingly and wrote him really well. Best AEMH villain ever.
I need a season three!
I was gonna mention the show too. Jesus, was that ahead in the writing deoartment.
@@spencersholden I thought ultron was really fun too, he was at least better than his version in the mcu
@@soundsofstabbing3627 sadly that’s kinda a low bar
You might say he’s the worst, but all of us Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes fans have seen Kang at his best. Hopefully Ant-Man 3 borrows a lot from that characterization.
Definitely. Kang was the best villain in EMH by a long way.
Yes exactly
My guess is that Kang will probably get a full on retooling in the MCU. In all likelihood, he’ll become as big of a villain as Thanos, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Marvel simplifies his origins and his complicated history. Given it’s importance in the current Loki show, I wouldn’t be surprised if his other versions (such as Iron Lad) are variants of him.
Edit: the reason is say this is because marvel usually updates characters from their comic book counterparts. Just look at Thanos.
Bro i love that show
I’m rewatching it rn and it’s fantastic
Stilt Man: “oh Yes, he is the worst”
Haha Stilt Man is so fun tho! And there are a couple of them, right
Bro, Stilt Man is a unit
He was really cool in the current daredevil run
Speed Demon: how could you forget about me, well I know how.
The Matador is staunchly nodding his head in agreement with Stilt Man.
This man clearly pissed off his tailor. Imagine being able to travel through time and still have a sub-garbage tier costume.
He’d do great with a digital interface
Generic ass costume
Yeah, also the purple is a bit too close to Thanos in regards to the MCU. If you’re reading this after the finale of Loki, Jonathan Major’s made, what I can assume is Immortus, was played well and had a tiny bit more drip. Although he’s giving off a lot of Ozymandias from Watchmen vibes. We’ll see 🤔🤔🤔

Oh no, cringe
I’m in agreement with you. I think Kang actually loses gravitas as a villain if you can defeat a variant, and another pops up. He’s basically a game of whack-a-mole.
That's gotta be the weirdest way to agree with someone that I've read in a while, thank you for sharing it with us
Truly. It's so Yawn inducing. One day they'll probably reveal that every single living thing in the universe is a version of Kang with amnesia.
The recent comic about Kangs origin is great, being the conqueror of all space and time(infinity) is sick. Losing his sanity and memory because of the time travel is sick, his ambition being sparked from a stale utopia is sick, his only care for self improvement is sick. He has a tragic story that infinitly repeats itself, it is the reason why it's tragic. The ultimate villain born of a utopia.
Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes would disagree. Kang is the best villain in that show by far.
BuT wHaT aBoUt ThE wReCkInG cReW!!!!!
Nah, Zemo is.
OUR WORLDS ABOUT TO BREAK!!!!
TORMENTED AND ATTACKED!!!!
EMH was too good for this world...
In A:EMH, yeah. But in the comics he's really stupid most of the time.
It's really interesting that alot of the early artwork seemingly depicts the blue face as part of his helmet: like a visor or a mask. However, as time has passed, it's evolved to just be his face
It still its supossed to be his face. Hes just some white guy with an evil goatee after all. Its just that many of his current apearances dont care about the character past and dont really know much about him other that hes a tyrant of the future. And that basically part of his name. "Kang the Conqueror".
@Rob Mohamedally I meant that most artists draw it as if it's just his face, with the purple helmet as the separate piece
Not only is all of this true, but also, Kang has exactly 0 drip. Man's got the generic Marvel villain green and purple, his face looks blue and has shit drawn over his eyes, and he's got metal going from his chest to waist, completely hindering flexibility
Well I suddenly have to go change my outfit, thanks!!!
And the thigh high boots
I wonder how he'll look in in Ant-Man 3 considering the MCU likes to redesign outfits to sell toys.
Bro's fit is absolute trash🤣💯
Something DCTARD would say
The only good use of Kang was Doom 2020, where he existed just to pop in and annoy Victor about his future randomly.
I thought that was an instant classic! But then I love Doom & Kang both, so... 🤷
KANG THE CONQUEROR: ONLY MYSELF LEFT TO CONQUER is goated and better than any other marvel story

@@ComicDrake The true question is whether you change what's in it based on the subject matter. Like switching to vodka for a Kang video...
I think you’re far too unfair on Kang, to be honest. He’s not that difficult to understand honestly? He’s like a full on bad guy Rick Sanchez honestly.
"Full on bad guy Rick Sanchez" is a redundant statement. As people have been commenting about Earth's Mightiest Heroes, he can be done well.
@@chadleach6009 guess it depends on which dimension you live in ....unless destroying entire universes doesn't make u a bad guy cuz your viewers think ur cool and edgy ...don't get me wrong I love rick and morty but rick is seriously one of the biggest antagonistic characters in the whole show ...almost every time they get attacked by something it's cuz him and morty are doin something they shouldn't be
@@chadleach6009 ya I don't think it complicates things that much especially if they specify which Kang we are seeing and my point is that the main rick we watch and the version of Kang murdering people are both bad guys ...every bad guy thinks he's the good guy in his own story
He’s the Rickest Rick
@@chadleach6009 Na Rick Sanchez is more comparable to Mr Fantastic considering the Council of Ricks was copied from the Council of Reeds in the FF comic "Solve Everything". Although Kang is a descendant of Reed.
I know that this is not a comic, but the “Avengers: Earths mightiest heroes” show had stuff going on with Kang and i would say they did well with him and his “Origin”. In the show we have him go back in time because his timeline is getting oofed because of Captain America and the things he had done or something, like how he was supposed to be dead and some other things that i am not going to mention. And yeah, stuff…
Anyway tl:dr, this was more of an excuse to tell people to watch the show because i think it’s pretty damn good and no one seems to talk about it, which makes me kinda sad, especially since they stopped making the show a long time ago and that’s without a proper ending, instead we got “Avengers assemble”, which was not bad last time i checked, but yeah it sucks compared to “A:emh”.
But yeah… check it out please… like… why not check it out, it is on Disney plus, it’s good… unless me keep saying these things makes you lose interest and stuff for it, which is not good so i’ma shut it here… ye
It's really great. Gotta binge watch that master piece again because of you. If one didn't see it and likes comics and or cartoons, he should definitely watch it.
I loved how comic book feeling that show was. they had a giant cast of bad guys, all the characters were more or less in very comic accurate designs, and overall it just felt like I was watching a slightly streamlined version of the comic characters as they went about their lives
@@onurcradibleable yeah it’s so great, that i want it to return and continue off from where it ended, in the same style and everything. The question is though, will it ever return? Can we do anything to make it return? Will a petition do(which i doubt)? Like yeah… guess this is life, unless something is done about it. Untill then, i’ll just watch some anime or continue on with “The Witcher” on Netflix.
@@soundsofstabbing3627 yeah from what i understand, it’s very comic accurate, like how Hank Pim is the creator of Ultron and whatnot.
@@vahigokukirisaki8521 yeah, I was kind of comparing it to the mcu, where they take a lot of time to make everything modern, earth's mightiest heroes is much more ok with being a bit campy and fun. for example, zemo in the mcu is much more modern and gray, only kind of being connected to hydra, in contrast, zemo from earth's mightiest heroes is the extravagant sword wielding nemesis to cap who wears purple and yellow with a golden crown and fluffy shoulders
kang historically being “a little rapey” hits a little too close to home considering all the recent news about jonathan majors…
... I bet 100$ youre what you describe bud. The way you type, the ..., your profile pic, it all checks out
Honestly, I’m not surprised about Kang, since he’s been around since the sixties and over complicated, over convoluted plots and characterization happens in comics.
So has other villians/heroes to be fair. Kang probably got shuffled around more-so because he wasn't a fan-favorite and he never had a solid storyline that readers knew.
I was so confused when I saw that a handful of conquerers were the same character-ish lol
@@jeb1691 I'm guessing it was trendy at the time. 😺
That’s kinda why Earth 616 becomes a bit confusing and awkward. Everything from Cap’s revival to the formation of the Fantastic Four all happened in the Sixties but in the year 2021, 60 years after that, they still treat those events like they just happened.
Retcons and alternate earths exist for this reason but for characters like Kang who never changes while simultaneously changing his character all the time, it just becomes confusing.
@@evanlight2550 Which is why comics fear of "ending" hurts them more than anything. A reboot doesn't help, having anything "MODERN" doesn't help. When you're just acting like basically 60+ years of canon happened and at the same time didn't... Doesn't help. Plus using time travel/distortions has always been a bad writing trope. Like oh we'll just go back to the good timeline.
@@ExeErdna not even that, it’s just that EVERYTHING, save for Ultimate and similar universes like it, happened in 616. And DC kinda suffers the opposite, because half the time I can’t tell which is Earth-1/prime-whatever- because one issue Superman is killed by Lex Luthor and the next he’s fine and dandy like nothing happened.
I like comics, I love Marvel and DC before they became what they are now, but their universes become a clusterfuck of continuity when you feel like no time has happened save for very specific storylines that get Retconned a week later because “fuck you fans, we don’t care”.
TL:DR

Kang is a really cool villain in my opinion and I always liked him ever since I saw his depiction in Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes TV show when I was kid which had him as a very complex and interesting villain when compared to his somewhat obscure origin in the comics.
I am excited for him to make his debut in the MCU and could be a great antagonist for the Young Avengers.
BTW who's your first favourite villain? Just curious, if that's okay with you.
@@milkiassamuel780 for me my favourite villain of all time will always be Victor Von Doom. It’s makes sense that both doom and Kang are in my top 3 because they are both linked story wise. But the reason why Doom is my favourite is because he actually succeeds in his quest for power. He also has one of the greatest developments known to character origins, learning magic, science and even divine/inter dimensional energy to get what he needs. But what I love the most about him is that the way he is written makes you almost believe that he is doing the right thing.
@@RidMicENTERTAINMENT Me too, the Fantastic Four were the first superhero team I was introduced to as a kid and when reading about their nemesis Doctor Doom, he truly became one of, if not my all-time favourite character for all the reasons you listed down. He is such an interesting character when written well and the fact he literally became a god and reconstructed the entire universe to his image, just outsmarting some of the most powerful beings in the universe, is enough evidence to justify how much of a great he is. His hatred for Reed is also quite fascinating, as he truly despises everything about Reed with a burning passion and has literally fought through Hell in order to accomplish his goals. Not to mention that he has a pretty cool origin as well involving the death of his father at the hands of the corrupt monarchy he eventually overthrows, his deal with Mephisto to save his mother from eternal damnation, the accident that left him indefinitely scarred, and his revolution against the corrupt baron of his country Latveria, he even sacrifices the love of his people for him, the same people he saved in order to constantly selflessly attempt to save his mother. Doom is very similar to Magneto in my opinion as the two have valid motivations yet execute them in the wrong ways. The only reason that Doom fails is because of his unrelenting ego, and yet has never stopped due to his insane willpower and hatred. With the Fantastic Four set to debut in the MCU, we can surely expect to see Doctor Doom make his full debut.
@@milkiassamuel780 I completely agree. I would honestly love if they delved a little bit more into Dooms relationship with his mother and Mephisto. They slightly went more into it during the Infamous Ironman but we haven’t heard much after that.
@@RidMicENTERTAINMENT That's a good idea and with all the rumours about Mephisto showing up in the MCU eventually, it might as well be explored with Doctor Doom. I think a great way of touching on this idea would have to be in an origin film or Disney+ series for Doctor Doom in order to see his childhood in Latveria under the tumultuous rule of a sadistic baron, learn both science and magic in order to see him attempt to save his mother from Mephisto and eternal damnation. The MCU has so much potential to utilise Doctor Doom and, in the long term, he could be the perfect antagonist to end the MCU with a Secret Wars film that has him in his God Emperor Doom form, thus having enough time and plenty of films and TV show's to explore his character and feel fulfilled if we were to see this potential finale.
Kang in the comics is weird and confusing but in "Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes", Kang is the best villain.

@Rob Shabibo I'm not acting like I have read every comic appearance, just based off what Drake brings up in his video and the comics I've read with him. Kang in "Earth's Mightiest Heroes" takes all the great qualities of Kang from the comics and throws out the messy stuff, (which is what the show did for a lot of the stories and characters it adapted).

A way to fix the continuity errors for Kang could be done by saying that because when he travels through time he is no longer apart of the timeline, he not only remembers the timeline he came from but the new one as well.

Fair points made here. My first exposure to Kang was in Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes. He was one of my favorite villains in the show and had a very streamlined history. This led me down the rabbit hole of his history. I never knew the last bits of the video but damn hate that’s it’s part of history. Sounds like "Rick and Morty" took a good dose of inspiration from Kang's Origin. Like, for example, the Council of Ricks. Also reminds me a bit of Reverse Flash from DC.
One thing I'm starting to notice more and more is that Kang is almost always the backup/secondary villain for the Avengers. Thanos gets all the buildup. Thanos gets all the epic fight scenes. Thanos gets all the stakes. Then Thanos is defeated and everything is ok. But the producers still need to keep the product rolling to keep bringing in money. So when all is said and done, who do they bring in as the next big bad? Kang. Kang is nearly always trying to claw his way out of Thanos's shadow, but he never can. Sure, he's hard to explain on paper, but if you just sit back and let the story play out its not really that distracting most of the time. The multiple personas is really the only thing that make him harder to grasp than say Reverse Flash.
@@Niop_Tres I agree. In fact, since marvel stopped using his other identities around the 2000, he becoming less and less interesting (and far more predictable) as time goes on. Theres only so many times you can have him use time travel to destroy the Avengers or try to take over he world. Those stories are burning the character, its time to try something new. And that includes the other personas. Even the last time he have a diferent personality it was just a remake of Victor Timely, a time traveling rich businessman. Granted, it waas more interesting that what they did with the character later on, but still. He needs something more fresh than that. Or something more character focus at least. It would be nice if they bring back his rivalry with Inmortus. They always brought the best of each other. And Inmortus needs the spotlight. The poor guy hasnt been seen since 2012.
@@Niop_Tres I disagree what they've basically doing giving you Loki but called him Kang. That's all the MCU is giving you what you already had.
@@ExeErdna I think they are talking about the comics and other lore, not just the MCU movies and shows (which are re-imaginings of comics) I am excited to see what the other Kang variants look like.
@@justinharris2320 I'm saying what we say with Loki is a prototype of content we're about to get with Kang if that's how they're gonna play it straight and not do that "subversion" BS which doesn't really work.
How well Kang was written in "Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes" is the whole reason why watched this video. He does not inherent the same problems in that show as his comic book counterpart possessed. I am honestly a little surprised that he became infamous to you and other Marvel fans over the years.
We shall see
I detest time travel in all forms, i detest alternate universes, i detest space travel also.
Then street level heroes are best bet.
Then stop reading comics
@@Wandasolosurfavs I don't read comics anymore.
@@mostmost1 Good we don't need whiny complainers like you ruining evrything with your negativity. And make sure you never pick one up again ty ♡
He’s not gonna like the finale on Loki
Then MCU Kang exist in loki
"Time travel! I see this as an absolute win!" -Bruce "Hulk" Banner
I love it how none of these Kang lovers can dispute one point this man made.
Kang from EMH! was interesting. He was hella cool, he wanted to avoid the destruction of his timeline by killing Captain America and never have him "return to life", because he was responsible of the Kree-Skrull war...later it turned out that the "Captain America" that was involved on the War was a Skrull impersonator
Yeah...still convoluted buy y'all get what I mean; he had more serious ties to the storylines. His ship, the DAMOCLES, eventually became SWORD HQ...because the ship looked like a sword lol
who here after Loki episode 6 lmaooo
Good video, sooo anyways yeah he’s still one of Marvel’s best villains..
I think it's the best move after the whole thanos thing. Kang makes the most sense for the mcu moving forward. Hopefully they will do him justice.
I personally always despise him.
Because of he's a time traveler Kang always bring convoluted story wherever he goes & he always makes Marvel's biggest hitters job against him
Even Earth's Mightiest Heroes couldn't improve him.
Tbf heavy hitters do job against villains since their you know villains
Kang is like Dr D but unlike Dr D I actually like Dr D
5:50
You know why you’re here
Without Kang we don’t get Avengers 200. Avengers 200 is all the evidence I need to give them the worst character award.
Oh, now I despise him
Avengers 200? What is it?
@@jhonnoilcringeincarnato8593 the aforementioned markets storyline from the video
I love how Drake says that he hates Kang, but he likes Kite-Man, a character that many see as lame.
Because Kite Man was so well written in a war of jokes and riddles plus have you seen him on the Harley Quinn series? how not love him?
@@Gabe600
I wasn't criticizing him; I was just pointing that out because I found it to be funny.
I remember Kang from the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes cartoon.

well what do you know
Came here after Kang showed up in Loki
Yup
It’s so funny how he’s just appeared in Loki now lmfao
I personally enjoyed him as a YA villain, he played his part well to bring Nathaniel Richards back in time and form the YA, and I just enjoyed that plotline
bUt WhAt AbOuT aVeNgErS eArTh MigThIeSt HeRoEs?
Damn, so they really typecast Kang with a matching actor, kinda messed up in the end.
Kang’s head always reminded me of a tv
I’m very excited to see the MCUs take on Kang. I’m sure they’ll streamline their story and make it way easier to follow. It kinda scares me that “too much continuity” has been a problem for readership in comics for so long and that the MCU is getting to the point where it’s continuity is way too much.
I feel like the MCU has been kinda fixing that problem. I mean someone could watch MoM without any other knowledge of the rest of the MCU, same with most the Disney+ shows.
this didn’t age well
So what your trying to say is this guy is just Rick Sanchez but in marvel
Good to know they made sure he was comic accurate in the MCU
lmao
I am not sure if I personally would call him 'the worst' but he is the most convoluted villain :P
I have a feeling everybody’s here after Loki finale
Haha I am
This kinda makes me want to read more Kang stories 👀
Kang the conqueror 2021 is goated
I mean Reverse Flash is pretty convoluted with his ridiculous ability to always to exist.
When you order Dr. Doom from Wish, they send you Kang.
