True, but Hickman retconned her to be an Omega level mutant who not only controls weather, but the earth and natural disasters. Also, she’s been retconned more in recent years to be some sort of reincarnated ancient mutant goddess. Makes no sense.
One thing to mention is that in one of the most recent Thor runs there was silhouettes of all the past wielders of the hammers including Superman and Wonder woman. I believe it was in Rule for reflection in Thor: The Worthy.
DC did something similar in Doomsday Clock: at the end of the comic, one character looks into the future and briefly mentions Superman having "a brawl across the universe with Thor himself... and a green behemoth stronger than even Doomsday". The exact panel contains spoilers if you know comics and word balloons, oddly enough, but it calls for the "Secret Crisis" to commence July 10th, 2030. Only ten more years...
The problem I have with that is, Superman isn't actually worthy. Sure, he wields the Hammer briefly during the JLA/Avengers finale, but ONLY because the worthy aspect was temporarily suppressed. Superman drops it at one point, and then goes to pick it back up to give it to Thor, and is unable to. Wonder Woman can pick it up by herself, AND got her outfit transformed by holding it. She is most CERTAINLY Worthy.

Great time to be a comic book reader. Not only did we get this comic (aka: The Main Event). We got tons of other crossovers. Batman and Spider-Man, Batman vs Punisher (twice!), Darkseid vs Galactus, and more. A lot were better written than the actual Marvel vs DC book. I remember seeing the polls in comic book shops, and damn near drooling when that first issue! People today may not appreciate how much we anticipated this storyline, or how frustrating it was to reach the end of an issue only to realize you had to watch a WHOLE MONTH for the next issue! And that went double at the end of #3, when Access fused the two universes together and created the Amalgam Comics line.

LuchaDandy There are a suppressing about of books that cover exactly that. He mentioned them a little in the video. My favorite is New Teen Titans and the X-Men, through Batman and the Hulk is a close second
DC is a multi-multi-multiverse. Since all have been restored and none is destroyed with every crisis (as Dr. Manhattan implied) Crossover Earth still exist somewhere in it. As for the Amalgam Universe, Marvel stated several times that it was still there and even gave it a designation, however, who knows if it was spared or it has been restored after Secret Wars. Then again, just like with Earth-1985 and so many more, we can only imagine what happens there.
@@OM19_MO79 The Amalgam Universe was condensed into a pocket-dimension contained in the Eye of Agamotto by Doctor Strange in the DC/Marvel All Access crossover.
Funny enough, I write a series of fan-fiction where that does happen. Not only Marvel and DC characters, but also the characters from the 2005 live-action Disney movie, Sky High.
It should be noted that when the comic of DC vs. Marvel came out the Hulk was in a stage where he would get weaker when he got angry. It was a subconscious defense mechanism that Banner setup to prevent the Hulk from crossing the line which would've made him a worldwide threat. So, Superman winning the fight would come to no surprise if you think about it under those circumstances.

Not quite. A pocket universe was created in All Access to allow them to exist independently. That version is slightly revised, there are some retcons compared to the first week.
You know what I want to see? Doc Samson vs Arkham Asylum. Samson is nearly invulnerable and can probably survive anything Arkham residents throw at him. He's a psychologist who specializes in superheroes and villains. I imagine a psychological horror in which the various games Arkham residents play to avoid their personal demons stop working with Samson around. The focus would not be on Samson but exploring the inner demons of the Arkham patients and how they are tormented by them.
I like Access. I thought the weird time travel shenanigans of the last miniseries, Unlimited Access, was a bit much since I liked the idea of a new guardian between realities popping up every generation over "time displace alternate Axel" but it's a good explanation of why the crossovers happen and then are usually forgotten (JLA/Avengers aside), because it's the job of the Access to keep the two realities apart. Also, Doctor Strangefate is important to that part of the story since it features Access trying to get away from Strangefate's minions as the good(?) doctor tries to keep the Amalgam universe together and is important to "All Access".

I heard the reason for the reason why Wolverine and Lobo's fight was offscreen was cause the writers had no idea how they could have Wolverine win in a convincing way. My personal favorite crossover was the avengers JLA comic by Kurt busiek and George Perez. I felt like it was written and drawn well and I felt like I got to see a good amount of characters
I think the Lobo/Wolverine fight is even more ridiculous than the Wonder Woman/Storm one. Lobo's strength is on par with Superman's. He could probably very well smash in Wolverine's adamantium skull. Not only that, but he's literally immortal. Wolverine is resilient due to his healing factor, but Lobo has a healing factor _and_ an actual pact with Heaven that forbids death to take him. Granted, this is all due to him being a parody of these excessively powerful gritty heroes, but it's still the case. This is, of course, the reason for why the fight occurs mostly off-panel. They simply couldn't come up with a realistic way for Lobo to be defeated by Wolverine, so they didn't show one. And then later they revealed that Lobo was paid by Professor Xavier to throw the fight so Wolverine's feelings wouldn't be hurt, which is all kinds of hilarious. It was inevitable, though. Lobo is a popular character, but compared to Wolverine he's as obscure as The Penny Plunderer, and since this fight's winner was decided by reader vote, Wolvie was always going to win.
Admittedly I was one of the people who got sucked into this crossover. But the more times I read it, the more it ages badly. Probably because the whole event is just a glorified popularity contest in which some of the fights are head scratchers. Another bit I like Claudio Castellini's art which is the reason I got into it. Years later we got JLA / Avengers which was a huge improvement. Will we ever see an episode on this here?
Some of the cross overs I did not understand why they would have the two go at it. Why not have Iron Batman vs Iron man, or Green Lantern vs Nova at the time.
Batman vs cap is the one people wanted to see because they are physical fighters with weapons. While ironman vs batman makes sense the fight itself wouldn't be as interesting.
@@nweditor875 But back then he was even more niche than captain america. I don't know what it is, but cap vs batman is always a thing that just works. Cap and batman even have team up comics and they fought in JLA vs Avengers as well.
I liked "Magneto & The Magnetic Men." I'm a fan of The Metal Men so it was nice to see the Amalgam version of the team (each made of a different magnetic metal with personalities based on the members of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants).
Storm beating wonder woman doesn't make sense because as you said she is a goddess and also she lifted thors hammer. Which as the hammer has written on it she is worthy. Thor has powers whether or not he is holding the hammer because he is worthy. So since wonder woman is worthy enough to lift it even tho she dropped it she now would have the powers of Thor plus her own. It doesnt matter if she is holding it or not.
Disney and Warner Bros might make a film together based on the Versus. But they can’t merge as Amalgam Corporation. If they did. I’ll see Moana: Princess of the Amazon. And Elsa from Frozen becoming the mother of dragons. And we can see Super Soldier and Dark Claw again. And we could see Darkwing Duck Dodgers. (An amalgamation between Darkwing Dick and Duck Dodgers)

Image how cool it would be if amalgam comics was still publishing comics
Defenitley not going to see this as an animated film.

Thought this was a cutaway to apologizing for dissing Pepsi
Same lmao
The 90's were FREAKING AWESOME.
7:14, is no one gonna talk about the bugs bunny and twetty bird cameos?
We all know marvel would have got destroyed if it weren't for capcom
I love his iron man literally has an iron😂
Both fights were equally horrible
@@Raytheman581 Well in that case they should have used Black Panther over Cap since he doesnt have super powers and there both physical fighters.
@@nweditor875 But back then he was even more niche than captain america. I don't know what it is, but cap vs batman is always a thing that just works. Cap and batman even have team up comics and they fought in JLA vs Avengers as well.
@@Raytheman581 I think it was because of how Captain America was really popular still in that time where Black Panther was not as much like he is now.
One day will get a real live action Marvel/DC universe. One day! If not, at the very least, an animation tv show or video game crossover. XD
Lobo the Duck was frickin' AMAZING.
Spider boy was cool
I liked "Magneto & The Magnetic Men." I'm a fan of The Metal Men so it was nice to see the Amalgam version of the team (each made of a different magnetic metal with personalities based on the members of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants).
Talk about cosmic brothers all you want. I'm sick of hearing about commenters.
2:26 nah that little skit was funny 😂😂😂
The Amalgam comics were the best part of event!
Big agree!
Agreed
Amalgam….that sounds very familiar.
To be totally honest, I'd love to see this concept tried again only this time done right.
They really need to do another one
Disney and Warner Bros might make a film together based on the Versus. But they can’t merge as Amalgam Corporation. If they did. I’ll see Moana: Princess of the Amazon. And Elsa from Frozen becoming the mother of dragons. And we can see Super Soldier and Dark Claw again. And we could see Darkwing Duck Dodgers. (An amalgamation between Darkwing Dick and Duck Dodgers)
Imagion if this was a live action
1:46 Can't forget rake on suck. And they always fall out your ear and disconnect. And they always pause and play your music or Whatever you're watching without your percent
The best thing that came from Marvel Vs DC was Amalgam Comics hands down :)
At least we have Death Battle to keep Marvel vs DC going
0:00 is where it starts
Plasma Dragon it AAAACTUAAALLY starts at 00:00:00 duh
@@dicklemeelmo8401 nice
Captain Planet,Freakazoid(Dexter Douglas),Gargoyles and Magic School Bus All appeared in the 90s!
am waiting for the day disney acquires DC rights and we see the cross over on big screen
I never knew that Amalgam was directly tied to this crossover. I guess it makes sense. I always wondered why the two companies made a joint effort.
JLX was probably my favorite thing about this whole thing!
I tore apart three copies of this trade. I was 9 and this made me a comics fan. Also Storm is Omega level, she can hang with anyone.
Are you gonna cover none DC crossovers like IDWs revolution and image invincible in the future
3:29 he looks like the new “Captain America”
