You should try and get kit A02010 which is the Mk1/Mk2A set. The basic kit is the same but has extra parts. The Mk1 has a different canopy and the two blade rotol prop. It also has an unusual underside in that it is half black and half white with the control surfaces aluminium on the underside. If you get an extra Mk1A kit you can also use the extra parts to make a Mk2A as well. There is also a Mk1A version with a sky underside with a single black wing. Definitely nice having unusual schemes.
This came out great, lovely build and vid. The white pin wash ended up looking great, was a bit skeptical about that at first! When I did this I assembled the cockpit and before the Tamiya cement went off completely I test fitted it in the fuselage, taping the two sides together. The extra thin dries quick but is not completely solid for 20 mins or so (ish). There’s a little diagram on step 3? In the instructions that shows the alignment. Did not add control stick at that point and just brush painted it all up, as well as the pilot. It all fit for me without surgery, that might be a first 😂 It’s a nice kit, this. I really like how yours came out. Thanks!
I suspect the pilot figure is 1/72, but the cockpit interior is slightly undersized, as are most interior details in model kits. Hence, the pilot is a bit too big to fit in properly.
New to your channel and to building kits you mention a brush pen for applying the cockpit instrument decal. Can you let me know where you can buy these please. Great video's will be back for more.
i get mine from amazon and just fill them with whatever decal solution i use i will advise storing them brush up though unless you remove the solution otherwise the liquid will evaporate in no time at all
With the under wing sceam there was one in the RAF museuim and instead of the aliminuim it was a grey colour and I have been looking though images for the camo and I haven't seen any aliminuim
@@yorkshiremanmodels there was a youtube vidio from the FAF museuim going though the evolotion of the spit fire and they bring up the black and white and you can see the frey part's
Loveley little build, thanks for sharing.
Really good build. I built this model hand painted it. The white part was a real challenge! But still came out well
i hate painting white with the brush and it tends to take a few coats
@yorkshiremanmodels Quite a few coats!
Nice build! Looks like a fun little kit. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing. This is 1 colour scheme I'd love to have a go at mainly coz its 1 I've never seen.
Another great build "Yorkie"
Glad you enjoyed it
I need one of these , thanks for the video, cheers mate.
No problem 👍

cant seem to find that kit from airfix from anywhere available in the uk at the moment
will keep a look out for it though
thanks for letting me know
Kingkit has it. Search 02010 to find it.
Hi nice kit Ive started modelling not to long ago and i was wondering if there was another things i could do to make my models stand out
Excellent build. I’m build the same kit right now. This helped immensely. Thank you very much.
Glad it helped

cheers pal
i tend to leave the control stick out till the end as i nearly always break them off when i fill the cockpit with foam ect

your probably right as with most kits its what they can fit rather than whats 100% accurate
I really enjoyed that video. Good work.
Glad you enjoyed it
Excellent thumbs 👍 up
Thank you! Cheers!

Nicely done. I like the black/white camo scheme
i love kits with weird or uncommon camos
thanks for replying

cheers for that
i do sometimes wonder where manufacturers get the camo schemes from

Great vid just remember we all like a quick one now and then ✈️
we sure do
Another nice build, again I have one of these and like yourself, I've never done one in that scheme, next quick build maybe, cheers.
its usual airfix build so is quick and easy
the camo scheme does take a bit of time masking but is worth it
Cracking job that.. I have done 3 of these now and like you say, lovely kits. Great watch, thanks for sharing…Chris
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice build, and a really interesting and informative tutorial for beginners to follow.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I agree! Just doing this as my first foray as an adult and using this video as my guide, great stuff.
Great build. But I’m wondering what type of 3D printer you have that you used to print the glue holders??
its a ender 3 model
mine is a older model but works great
How make the details with red on the Guns? I need help
the red was decals that came with the kit
a right pain to put on but once dry where fine
@@yorkshiremanmodels Thank you very much
if you collected plastics from pilots that you cut their legs from airfix spitfire kits, probably you could mold a new sprue from it 😅
haha your probably right with that
