They really were. A bit over scale and not super realistic. But these new ones are fantastic. I like Miniart figures for the detail too, but I find they often have poor fit (especially when adding equipment, bags, etc)
Oh, I really can't paint them either. Did you see their faces? But I am getting better at the uniforms, using the three different shades with my airbrush and then the dry brushing.
Hello mr. Nerd! I love your oldfashioned brushpainting.that kit seems 2me like a nice little mojo build.i hope u had a lot of modeling fun.with sticky greetings from Brandenburg germany.faithfully yours.your modellmate.christian
I’ve needed to make something like this for a while, not a large subject, but with a base that conveys meaning and looks good. Great work, and as I am going to the Southwest model show next week, do you have any kits that you recommend me to look out for? Amazing effort Stu! ;)
@@ModelNerd Ooh, I will probably go for a pak, and maybe something like a universal carrier, to make two seperate dioramas, as neither of the kits should be too expensive. Thanks for the ideas, and I will make sure to keep you updated on what I got :)
The slate base is fantastic
Thank you. It certainly adds some natural variation to the ground.
That's a lovely looking kit, nicely built & finished. I love the use of the slate as a build too. 👌👌
Thank you Steve. It's nice to have a different shape, non-rectangular base, definitely! And it fits nicely onto my shelves in front of other builds :)
Very well done!! Really like the weathering and shadings.
Thank you! Yes, I was pleased with the shading on the figures too. Better than my previous attempts, I think.
Very nice diorama. Good to see Tamiya improving their figures. Old ones I built back in the 70's were actually quite crude.

Brilliant as always. Love the slate idea!
Very nice use of the slate as a base. I might pinch that idea... 🤫
Thanks!
I've this kit half built . Liked the slate idea. I can't paint figures for some reason. U made it look so easy. A nice little build 👍

Amazing effort Stu! ;)
Thank you mate. Kits like this - maybe the Goliath, the Pak 36, Pak 40, Horch, Flak 3, universal carrier? Or what about the German field kitchen?

I built this in the 70s as well. Wasn't the engine metal. I could be wrong, usually I am. The glue I think.
There's a much older tooling of the same kit from, I think, 1978. This 2021 release is completely re-tooled.
