Thanks. I've been extensively testing how to get the best macro shots on S23 Ultra. I noticed you're using 3:4 in Pro mode. However I got much sharper macro shots when using 3:4 "50MP" in Pro mode, doing everything else the same as you did. I was taking shots of the tip of a lead pencil. I noticed when using 3:4, the final image was slightly blurred (i.e. the wood grain) compared to what I was seeing in the camera view. However when using 3:4 "50MP" the resultant shot was sharp and equivalent to what I was seeing in the camera view. It would be great if you can confirm.
I took the same shot in 12 and 50 for comparison. In photo info they both still say 12mp. This is on the s24. Maybe there is a switch I'm missing.
For a complete beginner like me, this changed everything. Thank you so much!
This is amazingly helpful! All of the settings can be overwhelming, but I'm looking forward to using this info for macro makeup photography. Thank you for the amazing tutorial!
Glad it was helpful!
Geeez I've been needing this video ! Thank youu
Thanks for this - very helpful and now I'm super excited to start taking photos!
Just got my S23 Ultra. WTF, after watching your instructions I am able to take much better macro photos. Thank you so much. More helpful than any other hints.
This was very helpful. As an entomologist wanting good insect photos, the bokeh effect is a big negative. I want as much depth of field focus as I can. Different strokes and all, but many thanks for the helpful video.
My first class in macro with S23U went well, thank you 🙂
Great video. Easy to understand and apply.
This is a great explanation and exploitation of the tech within the S23. Very clearly demonstrated, too. Thank you
Thank you , I have s23 ultra and now I can be a photographer , liked and subscribed ❤
Fantastic! Thank you.
Thanks for saving me some experimentation!
That's Fantastic!! Thanks Allot! Up be using this. 🙂👍
Thank you, that method helps a lot!!!!
Great tip. Mega macro stylish photo. Thanks.
Thank you so much!
Liked and subbed, Great tutorial. Easy to follow and well detailed.
Thankyou, I've had this phone since the day it released and struggling to get anything good. Thankyou.
Thanks brother, very helpful
Thanks for the information

I don't really like the bokeh effect, but your video still explained how to deal with this so thanks dude!
How do you feel about softness of some pictures in general on the S23u? I've seen some photos where the softness of in-focus regions kind of bothers me..
Interesting and helpful, thank you.
Thank you brother super helpful
Great tip!
I am learnig a lot here,thank you
Thx❤
Thank U so much sir❤
Thanks bro
the best results i have had for macro on my S23 ultra is like you, in pro mode, however using the UW lens and zooming in to 2x. then like you, using the manual focus slider and going all the way to the left. this produces the sharpest and closest macro shot that i have achieved.
Nice man
Thanks Shane - super helpful as always!
Don't know if anyone wha has said this but if you are in auto mode and are close to the subject and change to the 10x camera the phone will choose which lens to use. That 10x picture in the middle of the video looks more like the wide lens digitally zoomed in?
so, basically, manual focus to zero, pinch to 2x, take pic ?
Can you explain how to get this green tint to show where focus is aiming? i cannot find this and find it very useful
It should appear automatically when using manual focus
Awesome video.. But how to make it better? Is there any additional lens like one on iphone? I want to take a video of my freshwater fish. One species are moving quite fast and I need help for this matter. Thanks in advance.
Use 8k video then choose frames from the video the export to photo (with little button bottom left in gallery app)
The Gcam from PIXEL 3XL used fo take better macro shots with really nice Bokeh on my previous phone which was OnePlus 7T. Unfortunately the Gcam doesn't work on my new new S23 ultra and keeps on crashing😢
Took a photo of a 20 dollar bill at 12mp. When I looked, I was shocked as I blew it up l could see the patterns in the threads.
It has the focus enchancer it works even better than this manual mode
This was very informative. Great examples. Thanks! 😎😎💖💖👍👍
Can you share how to make the best macro video from S23 Ultra?
Thanks. It's a butterfly btw :)
WHAAAT ?!
You just improved my old S20Plus a lot! 😃
Thanks man🎉
How do you turn on focus peaking?
It should be on by default in pro mode when using manual focus.
There a way to have the macro mode in a native way in the s23 ultra?
Not sure what you mean, everything in this video is native
So basically use pro mode with Manuel focus
You'd be surprised how many people don't know how to do this.
How to activate the green indicator for the focus?
It shows up when you're adjusting focus.
@@scaryifliteralAh i see. Thx for the quick answer. Greetings from Germany ❤
I am still waiting for their macro to get better. I tried one compared to my iphone 14pro and my 14pro was just so much better at macro and macro is my favorite kind of picture to take.
You have no clue what you are talking about. I can take a normal picture with my s21 ultra then pinch to zoom to get more detail than your iPhone 14 pro can get in macro mode. You are obviously a iPhone fangirl and know nothing about camera or technology.
Are you serious ? Lmao s23 ultra can take 200mp macro shots
@@El_Goblino_not really. 200mp is main sensor and the focus distance isn't very close
@@BigCarso get a lense :)

What wallpaper is that?
Did I show a wallpaper?

Any chance you could show Samsung S22 and S23 users how to get RUclips TV to use the full screen on these devices. It's such a tragedy that these great screens have such huge bezels with this app. With the NFL Sunday Ticket going to RUclips TV, I would think more and more people will be subscribing and will run into this issue. Thanks for any help you share.
I quit wasting my time with macro on phone and decided to get a budget macro setup of a Nikon D3400 and Sigma 105mm Macro.
Total came to about £380 used, and the image quality is just SO much better, and you get true macro, whereas my S23 ultra seems to give more half true macro size or even less.
Plus you can crop in a shit ton more to double life size without any noticeable impact on image quality.
You also just get the nicer, way better quality bigger sensor of APS-C, which makes general shots look much higher quality with much more background separation.
You cannot compare a smartphone to an SLR camera...
@@marnixds Indeed, which is why I got an actual camera.
i need to take photos of jewelry to sell so I need more detail overall, not some of it out of focus
If you want everything in focus, use the macro mode. If you want it to look like it was taken on a DSLR with a large aperture, use pro mode.
The same I have a jewelry, the s23 ultra no take a good picture, the Huawei and honor for macro picture is better than s23 ultra. In low light too, selfie too. The s23 ultra is better for person using more time zoom and for picture outdoor, the video
Didn't work for me. Still comes out blurry, even though it shows the green as if it's in focus 🤷
It takes a little practice to make sure your distancing is good and to not move when snapping the photo, but it should work. I've used this is a ton of phones and it works more or less like on real cameras. You could always do a screen recording and email it to me or send it on Twitter. Might be able to see what's going on.
@@scaryifliteral I am taking pictures of stones/gens/crystals so maybe it's harder to find the focus on them.
That's the thing about doing it this way, you're manually doing the focusing so you should be able to dial it in without relying on anything automatic.
Thanks. I’ve just bought mine. But why do you keep calling DOF bokeh
It seems like you haven't used the full potential of the macro mode on the s23 ultra 🙂
Nope I have, it delivers no bokeh which is what this video is about. Preference is a thing. Use what you like.
As of today, 22-12-2023, these options not to be seen on S23 Ultra, very dissapointed...
Naaaaaaa better way is with main camera in macro mode. Millions time
Had to watch this at 1.25x speed to make it through
Congratulations
In that case you have some real challenges ahead of you LOL.
So you used a photo that you took with a Fold 4 as the thumbnail for this video about the S23.
