    10:02 No it's not the sensor. You disabled the built in Electronic Image Stabilization which is software based, it crops the video to stabilize your footage. So when you disable EIS, the frame becomes wider and your mount comes into the frame a little bit. It happens will deeper phone cases as well.

    • @pearsy4
      @pearsy4 Год назад

      Does stabilisation need to be turned off when using the anamorphic? Or can the stabilisation be paired with a gimbal? I turned stabilisation off within filmic pro and used a gimbal and my footage is nowhere near as steady as in this video!

    Thank you so much for bringing some photography love to Samsung phones.....Samsung and Android usually get slept on by the pros who just love Apple without giving anything else a fair chance. Thanks also for getting the accessory manufacturers to cater to Samsung too! That anamorphic lens effect is amazing. Can I ask which editing software you use to desqueeze on your computer? Btw did you manage to sort out the file transfer from the S23 to your mac? I gave you some tips a while back - hope they helped! Keep up the great content, your hard work really is appreciated.

      For sure I just love how powerful the S23U, its like with every video I make for youtube it gets better and better every time. So I just had to ask freewell to make these accessories to see if the phone can shine even more lol
      For this video I used FCP and adjusted the Y scale axis. But it can be done by stretching the X axis in a bigger aspect ration project too.
      In terms of file transfer the only thing that works for me is the "android file transfer" app, although sometimes it gives me troubles when connecting the device, but overall its okay. Maybe not as good as airdrop but its alright.
      Thanks for coming back to the channel and always taking your time to comment, means a lot to me!

      @@StevenDivish Hi when you scaled the video in Y axis. Did you just eye ball it or it there a specific value you used. For example in my case I am using Premiere Pro and I loaded up my footage shot in 8K and now I want to desqueeze it.
      So I went into the effects control and unchecked on uniform scale and I got two values. Height and Width.
      So for scaling the Y axis which is scaling the height, what should be the value? Original value is 100.

    • @ezekiel884
      @ezekiel884 Год назад +6

      @@artisticminds4337 Divide the height value by 1.55 and use that (this is the distortion of the anamorphic lens). Make sure the width/X value stays the same

    • @NYC_Goody
      @NYC_Goody 10 месяцев назад

      So just 100 divided by 4.55 then. And that'll be the case on whichever program you use? This is good info as I'm waiting for the s24 conference to see if I should get that or the 23. And I know nothing about photography but I do want to start taking photos when I get one of these phones. I think it'll be a cool learning process @@ezekiel884

    The quality out of this camera and Freewell lenses are great! The PROBLEM is that they are crazy expensive! $459.99 retail (almost half the price of the phone) to buy these add-ons on a device that will probably be traded in in a year or two. That's a lot of investment, especially for "non-pro" use. If they can be gauranteed to be reused for future models, or at least have a trade-up offer, then it would be easier to justify the price tag.

    • @FreewellGear
      @FreewellGear Год назад +7

      Hey Roy, You are picking the top of the tier set with all the accessories, so sure, it will cost money, or you can start with a basic USD 119.99 THE PROBLEM here is you call it "CRAZY EXPENSIVE" when not even a single company want to make anything for Samsung S23 Ultra because as consumer you may not realize what goes in making these products just so that you know the amount of cost we have spend on opening a single mold of Samsung S23 Ultra case we can open 2 case for iPhone.
      another ND filter covering entire camera system this has used the same amount of optical glass in which we can make almost 6 pcs of Mini 3 Pro ND filter that cost USD 50 which means for 4 S23 Ultra filter we can make 24 Mini 3 filters so without realizing all these facts you cannot make this judgement.
      Yes these filters are futerproof you can use on your future samsung cases.

    The first problem I noticed in trying to use pro video is that we're unable to shoot in HDR10+. It's an unfair trade-off that I find incredibly vital. HDR is dramatically overlooked in filming. In my opinion, nothing that is capable of filming hdr should ever be shooting in sdr. It makes a bigger difference than resolution by miles. We're also unable to shoot in 21:9 and/or 8k 24fps in regular video mode.

The amount of details it captures and the colors and the dynamic range... But it just all looks too pristine as it doesn't have lenses to make use of that pristine capture. These add ons or accessories for lenses and ND filter makes the sensor shine to it's brightest!

      Thank you! initially I talked in the video about it as well as other technical stuff, but when editing I thought it's too much nerdy stuff etc, so I decided to cut it out lol
      Either way: The main difference between the gold and blue streak is in the flare color, also the gold one gives a bit more warm feeling to the overall image hence the streak color.

    The amount of time and hard you put inro it sir, reflects in the video. I think you can shoot a short dilm in s23ultra😅. But please do the same video with samsung s23 or s23 plus to know alot better. And please tell me the settings in pro mode in samsung s23 or s23plus. And i think samsung must watch ur videos and make more suggestions.

      Yes it took me a lot of time to film let alone to edit and structure all the footage, it was pretty intense haha
      I have a whole Epic S23Ultra Series playlist in description that goes very in depth about the phone capabilities and it's cameras.
      As for the S23 and S23+ or Flip phones, I'd really love to check them out eventually!
      Maybe people over Samsung will watch it too one day who knows! :)

    Hi Steven! just a quick answer about the motion blur! Of course it feels better with the rule for correct motion blur, but in this cases that we use a phone (or action camera) that has digital stabilization (not a real gimbal) is it better to adapt for the motion blur or it´s best to use a faster spped in order to help the OIS of the phone? thank you very much!

    Amazing content! Definitely learnt useful tips from this video.
    Quick question Steven, what happens if you used zoom lens on the 10x telephoto lens?
    (Eg, Will it produce sharper moon shots?) 🌕

    • @StevenDivish
      @StevenDivish  Год назад +1

      Thank you so much for watching and support!
      No, ND filter will not make it crispier, its main goal is to add motion blur and control shutter speed, but it will not enhance the sharpness.
      There is a CPL polarizer filter for S23U that helps to remove the glare and reflections from shiny objects, but I don't think it will make moon photos any better as its mostly used for landscape photography.
      So once again the ND filter is for creating motion blur with controlling your shutter speed. I will be posting next episode soon and cover a bit more about that there too, stay tuned!

    Are you using a specific phone case for the s23 ultra to attach the filters or lenses? I currently have ulanzi 7.5mm 4k HD SUPER WIDE LENS, the 65 mm 4k HD TELEPHOTO LENS and the 1.33x anamorphic lens. I've had for a while only used 2x ever and I'm trying to learn to use them. Do you have any videos on these lenses? Or recommendations

  • @frikiposting3404
    @frikiposting3404 9 месяцев назад

    I recommend use MC 24 fps pro to shooting anamorphic footage, because the stock camera has stabilization that cannot be disabled, you can also desqueeze the video in camera and record in 4:3 open gate to have more information for a final result of 2:35 aspect ratio with 1.55x lenses

    The anamorphic lens is a cool idea, it reminded me of Moment lens. However, I don't think it's as good as I saw the distortion of the buildings, light poles, trees, etc. and also there was a light leek in the top left edge of the frame as well. Very interesting video bro.

    • @cogsci2

      Yes - the quality on the anamorphic lens looked terrible. Barrel distortion, light leak, diffusion, blur.
