This is the comparison that I have been waiting for.. Someone finally does the $1200 Ultra vs the $800 base model.. Thank you so much for this! It really helped me be clear on what I want.

@@tekmagar7968 Even though I love the S23 but I want the Ultra for overall daily usage. I will wait a few months though so it can be affordable and then I could get better deals on it..
He doesn't crop in to the photos or anything!! He doesn't talk about detail difference, noise difference, nothing!! This is just a collage of pictures from 2 different phones.

This isn't about cropping in and pixel peeping. 99% of the time it's about dynamic grande, exposure, contract and color accuracy. That is what makes the shot.
For me both takes simillar pictures/videos. The biggest difference is that Ultra have 10x optical zoom that may be usefull sometimes. But still small S23 is a freakin beast of photography.

s23 ultra have better detail
I would definitely go with the S23 coz I don't think I should invest 400$ more for just an extra 10x zoom and a S pen
If you don't need the camera and don't care about the details and the huge difference between the S23 Ultra's camera, choose the S23 Basic. The difference isn't just in the S pen. It's also in size, processor, screen and other details.
@@PreceeLuz u said size and screen which is essentially the same thing. and they share the same cpu. for me the only reasons to choose the ultra over the standard would be screen size, battery life, and increased productivity if you consider the s pen valuable. for me that still doesnt justify the price difference hence why i went with the base s23.
This was really helpful to choose which one is suitable the most in REAL Life situation away from details perfection. It is straight to the point, I guess the majority of people don't care about technical details anf high numbers. Keep it up man

This video is the one that I have looking for almost a week now.
I'm surprised how well the s23 base model are made. Ultrawide are exact similar, main camera surprisingly similar with the ultra, but the 3x zoom lens struggled a bit with dinamic range in some of your photos. I'm using one right now and really glad I chose to purchase the base model, same performance with more compact phone.
They have the same hardware for ultrawide except for the auto focus
Does the front camera have the portrait video option? How does it look?
The pixel binnig by Ultra's 200MP camera is also available by S23 50MP camera? Is it used just for photos or video as well?

as I thought the 200 mpixel sensor is basically just marketing (there is a minimal difference in the grain of the noise but really little) and the 10X lens remains just a gadget .. the thing that surprised me instead is that the 3X lens looks perform better in low light in the Ultra
Ultra in night videos has to much grains which I hate and normal S23 or Plus has noise on videos which I can forgive. Ask me I have an S22 Ultra and my mother has S22 Plus same results. My cousin has S23 Plus and takes almost same as S22 but imported honestly. Then the sun comes out the S22 Ultra obliterate both slightly. I just hate the strong grains.

I doubt anyone can find any difference that makes sense. If you don't mention which camera it is, no one will be able to tell which device the photo was taken from.

it's good that this time both have the exact same front camera sensor (S5K3LU) also the UW is the same (IMX564) but the s23 has no AF

Great video, thank you! I have owned the S23 Ultra for a few hours, however, I am thinking of replacing it with a basic S23. It's a great phone, but the size is too extreme for me. I switched from an iPhone 13 pro. Or should I give it a chance for a while longer? Greetings from the Czech Republic. 👍
I currently have the iPhone 13 Pro, but I’m waiting on my Lavender s23! Going lighter is way better lol plus the battery is said to be better with this line up!

@@xx.1. I stuck with the iphone 13 pro. I'm waiting for some other phone. I like the OnePlus 12, but the problem is again the size. There is no perfect phone.

La diferencia más notable es la amplitud que ofrece el 10x óptico que debería de implementar Samsung en el modelo original s23 oh almenos una variante compacta como lo hace Apple en sus gamas altas. Pero ojalá no sea una versión cuadrada como la del Ultra que a mi opinión no me parece bonita. Mejor el diseño del s23 normal .
I'm trying to figure out which phone to get for walk around video in daylight and at night. S23 Ultra or S23. This video is not making it any easier to decide LOL. They seem neck and neck.

Warum nicht bei beiden Kameras den 10 fachen Zoom verglichen, egal ob dieser beim S23 nur digital ist, aber das wäre sinnvoll gewesen, denn genau da "trennen" sich die Kameras...

Wow! they both look the same, really good color calibration.
I think the difference was in low light. But else very similar. I don't need the zoom that often. Went with the s23+ for the flat screen.... It's great.

Hi i have a question, if i make a video on the normal samsung camera app and then upload it to instagram, tiktok or whatsapp will the quality stay the same or will it get worse. Alot of people say that the quality gets worse. So maybe i need to get an iphone...
Yes, is worse than iPhone. Instagram is optimized to iPhone.

It's pretty identical at first, I guess the ultra does have slightly better color accuracy but this isn't noticeable unless you're looking for a difference. The real difference shows in the zoom. Though the S23 still has incredible zoom, it is much better on the ultra model.

s23 ultra camera capabilities are just insane
I have the s23 ultra right now, and this phone is amazing... But... This phone is just way too big, as a grown man with small hands I kinda prefer the s23 size more. But I'm just worried I'll miss some of the ultras features like the zoom, higher resolution display, s pen etc. Unless I keep both phones and switch on occasion😭

@@phandroid I have the fold 4 am good for now had the 22 ultra last year trading that for the fold 4 missed my fold 2
I was with the Note series from Note 1. New Ultras are much too bulky for me. I can still accept s23 plus, but not Ultra, had Ultra for a week and decided to switch to s23. I recently learned, that I can perfectly make photo editing without stylus, there are too many functions of stylus I never used. I do a lot of photo editing and documents signing, but it can be easily done even by finger, having samsung photo editor and samsung note apps.
Ultra is too big
I use the S22 Ultra and the size actually good for watching videos.
I don't need a tablet anymore and I can check my students' assignments thanks to the stylus. The 10x zoom lens is also amazing for watching sports.
It's more like depending on your usage thing I guess.
@@gkf3305 my note 10plus and s23 plus both have the same screen size with s23 ultra, but they are slimmer, lighter and fills much better in hands.

These bluish purple flares at 3:16 , they seem like the only trade-off for me, can you say if it is on par with s23u or the iphone 14s

great video but im very surprised you didnt compare 10x zoom on both phones considering its arguably the biggest differentiator between the two.
Wow, not always the case but I marginally preferred quite a few of the shots from the cheaper S23, starting with the pebble beech footage; the Ultra, on that shot especially, looks a bit too contrasty for my liking, something I'm very much not a fan of; I greatly prefer a more neutral/natural look in a phone camera, more subtle tonal shade steps between tones, less black shadows; I can always add more contrast and colour saturation in post, if I really want to make photographs more 'pleasingly' 'Instagram-ready'.

It's very apparent that in 99% of the time the S23+ takes the better pictures except if you need to zoom alot

S23 is better in 90% and 10% the same, excluding long range zoom, of course. Sharper and more detail, less out of focus areas.

I love the shape of s23 but camera is just 50mpx. I wish I can find 23 ultra's camera setup in 23...
Anyone who thinks that the S23 Ultra would comfortably beat the base 23 doesn't appreciate what a fine camera the 8Gen2 powered 23 has in it's own right. The 23 U has it's high zoom advantage in pictures and video and it has cleaner low light video with less noise but in most other scenarios it was very very close. To be honest, these results were what I would have expected. The S23 is a brilliant phone that is a real bargain. It's video quality is a step above the Pixel 7 Pro in my opinion, and it gives it a good run photo wise. It is a better phone than the P7 Pro overall with that rocketship chip and better thermal management and all this with no bugs in sight. Unlike the Pixel.
The thermals are definitely better than the Pixel, but I'd still chose the pixel for the software and the camera experience over the S23 or the S23+
Where is 60 fps comparison?
So s23 standard for everyday use and s23 Ultra if you go to a concert or some place that insane zoom would be useful. Too bad I can afford only one of them 😅

Great that samsung made almost equal cameras for all 23s model line. Its almost no difference between shots and video is 100% equal on a main camera. Nice job,Sams.
The selfies on S23 vs S23U are definitely not the same.
You can clearly see the face marks on the S23U, and generally the bigger phone has better dynamic range.
Wow...i was expecting a big diference...but are exactly the same in average real life usage...very disappointing about the s23 ultra...you could expect something better.
I see zero difference in most shots. 200mp of ultra is weak. really the 10x telephoto making the only difference. folks who dont like the form factor of ultra phones are not missing out on much at all

I can't believe I'm saying it but I can actually tell the difference between the s230 Ultras rear camera especially on video than the standard s23. I have the s22 ultra and was looking forward to swapping out because it's so big that I still wanted that Samsung UI without the size but wow... Yes 23 Ultras cameras are actually better than the standard one
Guys, i dont know if that's only me, but i feel very disappointed with the selfie. I think it looks like a camera from a 300-400 $. To look good needs to be with an IDEAL lighting, and i have compared with an iPhone 13, and the iPhone was way better than the s23 base.
